From what I understand, the delays are down to funding..the council and all related partners have been brilliant, it was the turning down of the levelling up project from Westminster that means they now have to turn to Plan B

The only thing I can think of is that some work might be needed on Wrexham General station, just a stone's throw away. Now that Wrexham is undoubtedly an international attraction, it'd be crazy not to send more trains to that station, to prevent the roads getting too crowded with tourists, but I don't know how well that station would cope with such high passenger numbers...

I think what Ryan and Rob as done is simply amazing. 2 guys that know nothing about soccer/football manage to pick the right staff and players to turn the program completely around. How many times have we seen teams bring someone in and it just doesn't gel. Their greatest attribute is listening to the people around them.

credit to them, they found the right people for the job. i remember in the earlier episodes of welcome to wrexham, when the team wasn't doing too well at the start of the season, alot of the fans were questioning the hiring of shaun harvey and phil parkinson. i'm genuinely curious how they feel about them now. hope they show it in season 2.

Sounds like the difference between 2 dudes who appreciate the value and significance of going on such a spiritual journey on faith and having slender grasp of the sort of ride this will entail if they’re in it for the right reasons, don’t let their egos get in the way and trust the universe and it’s countless other ‘invested’ characters to intervene as their energy and their intent warrants. 99/100 these types of developments are merely fodder for some cashed up trust fund baby who couldn’t give af about the club or it’s fans or it’s long term prospects as long as everyone knows ‘they’re the Guvner’ and afford them all due feilty. Real people respect merit, not moneys.

I know he has 20+ years of high level goal keeping under his belt and just hit the big 4 0. But I could see him doing at least 1 or 2 more years at Wrexham. Of course, they'd need to figure out Lainton and Ben during the off season... Admittedly, Notts County fan here. Notts have adopted this "older/experienced GK starting (Sam Slocombe)... young Premier League/Championship side backup" strategy in goal (Arche Mair/Vítězslav Jaroš/and Tiernan Brooks who is part of NCFC but another youngster as well) and its worked well. I could see Wrexham doing that and then if a GK is down for a while, finding a 3rd on the market somewhere.

I’m a ryan fan and ended up here based on his ownership in the club. Viewed a lot of related material on a wonderful story . Just goes to show you how far abroad this has travelled . Hope to see you next season .

Fully admit I didn't have Wrexham on the radar prior to the takeover, but am a huge fan now. I am a big believer in team chemistry, personalities, and attitude, and dude, you have a terrific attitude for the team. I think that's almost as important as the number of shots you keep out of the goal. Cheers! (would be great to see you in a Wrexham kit next year too)

I'm enjoying following the Wrexham story after watching the docuseries on Disney+. I even listened to the Notts County match on BBC Radio Wales whilst at work. I'm in Scotland via Manchester, btw. The owners, manager, and team have done a great job of elevating the name of Wrexham AFC and the town itself. Ryan and Rob have come in with clear intentions and a determination to do thing the right way and have clear values. They’ve made such an impact and have done it so well, compare it to Chelsea where they were bought and the owners have no clue what they are doing.

The "big and small" partnerships can often work so well. For example, Tottenham have had this approach for years: Kane (big) and Son (small). Crouch/Pavleochenko (big) and Defoe (small). Berbatov (big) and Keane (small). But you also have classic partnerships like Emile Heskey & Michael Owen, Tore Andre Flo & Gianfranco Zola, Romelu Lukaku & Lautaro Martinez, etc.

I can see Ryan and Rob getting 3 promotions with Wrexham in the next 5 or 6 years ... They could become a Championship side no doubt. Getting to the prem will be a different story but Wrexham have the potential to be as big a club as Swansea or Cardiff and they've had stints in the prem so don't write them off. Plus I can see a lot of North Wales not just Wrexham Town supporting them. Plus they will end up with a lot of foreign fans especially in the states.

My grandad used to take Dennis Smith to training when he played for stoke ge used to live the house behind my nan and grandad and couldnt afford a car at the time so my grandad used to take him, always said he was such a nice bloke and grateful for everything, noone probably cares but mental to think a professional footballer couldnt afford a car

The takeover by the new owners and the show didn't just benefit Wrexham. The whole league benefits with more fans attending and attention being paid to non-league football. Most fans, even in England haven't heard of many of those clubs in the National league, let alone watched them on TV.

Will be interesting to see how the owners change as Wrexham climb the pyramid. Big money deals with international corporate ‘brands’ will soon start demanding changes when things go wrong on the pitch. I really do hope the community vibe that has been developed over rides everything else, especially greed to make money and success at ALL costs.

He used to play for the club, it’s close to where he lives, they needed him for just 6 games. And it helps his exposure, no way would he, as a top professional, go back to playing after retirement for JUST podcast views, use your brain.
