His Holiness the Dalai Lama's meeting with foreigners visiting Dharamsala at the Main Tibetan Temple in Dharamsala, HP, India on March 5, 2018. After group photos His Holiness gives a brief talk and then takes questions from the audience.
In the snowy mountain paradise, You're the source of good and happiness, Powerful Tenzin Gyatso Chenrezig May you stay until Samsara end Prayer for HH the Dalai Lama's longevity (FPMT)
Media showing so called Buddhists killing and fighting recently, but that aside, this video helps show what they really represent, this way of life I respect entirely, as a Muslim, I am saying that I am happy for their teachings and these wonderful people working for the better of the whole world I give my respects
Which Buddhist monk used religious book to kill other human being , you wont find any because the core principle of Buddhism is non-violence , even though china gain control over Tibet, no monk has has committed suicide bombing to kill Chinese troops but in case of Islam , you will find many people mainly youngsters using religious text to kill other human beings (jihad) to get position in heaven! Even if you say those guys have misinterpreted your holy book , still question remains what encourage them to commit such crime !!! Entire Iran, Iraq , Afgahistan was once Buddhist country but it had vanished because of reason very well known to everyone , few Buddhist countries are now revolting violently against other religions specially muslim is totally unacceptable but they fear that history might repeat itself and they need to prevent that from happening ...
25:53 ...the practice of samatha...vipassana...Buddha himself is product of this...training of mind...we should take this as academic subject... not talking about nirvana, heaven, next life...just this very life.
LONG LIVE HIS HOLINESS DALAI LAMA KHENNO SKYABSUCHIO CHAKTSAL LAMA KHENNO SKYABSUCHIO CHAKTSAL...MAY HIS HOLINESS LIVE LONG HEALTHY LIFE FOR THE SAKE OF ALL SENTIENT BEINGS...THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR KINDNESS...
Reason than faith. As Dalai Lama says. These are teaching of Gouthama the Buddha. Nalandha tradition which is the university established before one of the Buddha (siddhartha Gouthama). Naga Arjuna, Buddha Palitha are the teachers of Nalandha university.

I appreciate that alarm or whatever it is going in the background as a wonderful challenge to maintain a zen state...but maybe turn that off after 20 minutes.
mozheart lol, they might be alarms meant to sound like birds...like the crosswalk species. They sound way too perfect in tone and rhythm to be organic.
Birds. Can't turn them off. Dharamsala is not a quiet cave in the Himalayas. There are birds, monkeys, motorcycles, kids, and relentless activity all the time as a backdrop to the temple chanting.
@@BarefootBard Yes, of course you are right. Comment was more a self deprecating attempt at humor for my part. The birds do sound quite regular and consistent, like so many crosswalk notifications so common in the west.
I think 🤔 His Holiness is using his wisdom and techniques how to bring peace ✌️ according to this modern world 🌍 . Back in Buddha’s days environments, culture, mindset and everything were different, so Buddha taught according to that time. There are both believers and non believers in this world, so the technique also should be different. The technique that should be universal and reach to everyone, anyone and anywhere and technique that relates to everyone.
world leaders should pressure on china to freedom of Tibet. Dalailama is struggling since last 70 yrs. he has gone in 80 yrs old so UN should also supports to freedom of Tibet. thanks
This is so interesting and relevant: His Holiness, the historian from viewpoint of his earlier past and our world's path toward peace. At 12:10 min. or so, I want to say I had the exact same experience trying to sleep in Koblenz, Germany, with my sister in 1975, Eurail pass backpackers. I laid there all night thinking we would get murdered and my family would blame me while my sister snored contentedly next to me. I, myself, have a lot of German in me, proud of it, love it, but I had no idea of that in 1975.
His Holiness is so extraordinarily patient. His example is a lesson in letting go of ego-grasping, maybe a key lesson for foreigners to master. Our questions and demeanor demonstrate what a superficial and materialistic culture we are steeped in, the level of challenge that poses for us, and how much farther we have to go to begin to open our minds to the dharma.
There was disturbing noise in the background right through the session with His Holiness. Could not the organizers stop this. We are all not lamas to be impervious to audible noises. Still we loved to listen to His Holiness whom I consider a living God though I am a pious Hindu.
