Mega Dragonite Concept in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Dragonite should’ve got a dynamax honestly, while I don’t see them getting a mega, it would be awesome. They could go down the Altaria/Ampharos route, or make it more savage and go with a monstrous dragonite, saying as their iconic moves are outrage and hyper beam, two savage ahh moves.

As a game designer and 2D and 3D artist, I want to point out a few other things. The existing pseudo legend megas are designed to be vicious versions of themselves, almost as if they were so strong already that they can't control their mega power as they lack the divine control of the likes of Mega Ray and the primals. Also, the pseudos were already vicious by nature, so it makes sense mega evolution would heighten that trait. In their design, it's shown not only by staying faithful to the each mons' designs, but also by exaggerating the spiky, triangular protrusions of each mega: Salamance's wings become a blade and its head-fins are elongated, Ttar's spines are elongated and distorted, Garchomp gains more spikes while his fins are elongated and distorted into scythes, and Megagross's claws are exaggerated and distorted, its signature X is tapered, its "chin" gains a giant spike goatee, and it gains another set of limbs ending in spikes on its back. The face of megas are never greatly changed, as the face is the primary way we recognize all things with a face. So how would we apply this philosophy to dragonite? First of all, I believe its wings should be elongated to an extreme degree-they should go from small and derpy-looking to blocking out the sun. They should also be mildly distorted with harsher curves. Its head spike could turn into two horns, and its overall body could slim while still retaining its pear-shape. However, instead of a derpy, fat pear-shape, Mega Dragonite could possess a warrior, viking-esque type of pear shape that exhibits strength and is intimidating. Its face could slim and its harsh angle from snout to cranium could smooth out and look more fierce all the while still being identifiable. Its claws on its hands and feet could embiggen with a more intense taper. I also believe its colors should darken and saturate slightly. I love your speculation videos, they're always so fun to watch and to participate alongside as a community.

If they give Dragonite a mega, the writers for the Pokémon anime need to bring back the Dragonite users Lance, Drake(Orange League), Clair, Iris, Ash, Provo, Prof Oak.

Make Mega Dragonite into an actual Dragon Knight. Maybe 3 megas, Mega X Knight appearance - Dragon/Steel (physical enhanced), Mega Y Dragonaire appearance - Dragon/Water(special enhanced), Mega Z Dragon/Flying (speed and defenses enhanced)

The idea of like a savage dragonite reminds me of that episode from the anime. Where the dragonite of a former dragon type gym leader went berserk into what the english dub called it attack rage or something. I forget if it was like a dragon type exclusive thing or like pokemon in general. I kinda wish they brought the concept back.

the problem with dragonite getting a new powerful ability when it mega evolves is that it already has a very good ability in its base form AND access to dragon dance which automatically makes it a pretty dumb pokemon to use. If theyre going to give him a busted new ability when it mega evolves they have to take dragon dance away. Imagine if mega sharpedo got swords dance back in the day. It would have been broken (an example for a pokemon that could mega evolve and make use of 2 very powerful abilities, especially as a dark type). You can also look at mega blaziken who already had access to swords dance so they didnt dare give it another powerful ability when it mega evolved. The one exception is probably rayquaza but they also took away the mega stone itself for it so Im not sure he counts

I really wanna see a MEGA OBSTAGOON that would be a epic one especially the shiny version

Dragonite makes sense for a mega evolution. Dragonite’s rival are Charizard, Blastoise, Venasaur, Raichu, and Aerodactyl.

Dragonite is a pretty big Pokémon, i reckon it could only circle the planet so quickly if it were allowed time to build up momentum - whereas in battle, it can't do so

I think the biggest misconception about Speed as a stat is that top speed and acceleration are both represented by the same stat, making it a bit confusing. It may take the first hour for dragonite to get to that top speed, and also the planet that the pokemon world is on may be vastly smaller than our earth. The speed stat is one of the strongest in the competitive meta, so they have to balance that way. Dragonite has an insane top speed, but faster stuff likely just has a crazy acceleration, and not necessarily a faster top speed.

About Kommo-o needing to be readdressed… it already got readdressed in US/UM, with its exclusive Z-Move! Although sadly those were the only games the move was in… but it did get a downgraded version of it, Clangorous Soul

Now Dragonite makes the most sense out of any pokemon. He never got a single thing when it comes the new Gen gimmicks, regionals and regional fakes.

I can't imagine how broken a mega Dragonite would be if it becomes dragon fairy. It would probably get pixilate since it doesn't have any fairy moves, which means it could make extreme speed even more broken. Same goes for a dragon water mega Dragonite with a water pixilate equivalent.

It sounds weird but it will be interesting if they make dragonite an odd case of mega evolution.The idea is what if Dragonite can't mega evolve,but dragonair can,like when mega evolved dragonair will turn into even longer,slender sea serpant with base stats total 100 over dragonite.

I think since a lot of Dragonites in the meta run Tera Normal for stab on Extreme Speed, I think it would be cool to add that in, so that it can still Stab Extreme Speed if we get rid of Tera (I hope Tera doesn't go away... But alas, all good things pass)

Oooooo this give me a great idea. What if in a legends game we get an alt Evo fir dragon air. Dragonair fight each other but what if use too when they did this they'd cracked their weaker orbs and become a different evi line that's water dragon but now over a longer time of progressive evolutionary selection what was once rare a dragonair evolving without a cracked orb is now just the norm. So a dragonigjt that Megas then shows more of that alternate path of Evo vs the alt Evo which has no wings

I mean this isn't exactly farfetched. Its entirely possible that the mega stones we have now could be either incomplete or fake(or made in a lab) hence the pokemon that are more mean and rampages. Maybe these "season 2" megas are more pure and complete(made in nature) giving pokemon calm and friendly mega forms. Who knows maybe they get destroyed and thats why we dont have them in our current timeline causing the whole "fake" megas to come about. This is my new theory now. "Fake" theory

To me new megas wouldn’t make any sense. Like how can they explain why they aren’t around in modern times. You had to track down just about all the mega stones in the game. I guess they could be lazy and say they were buried deeper underground. They could find fossils that are older than mega stones but not dragonite’s stone.

Dragonite is already powerful on its own. It doesn't need or should get a mega evolution. None of the pseudo legendary or legendary pokemon need mega evolution. This is why the gimmick is bad. The wrong pokemon getting them when it should go to those that actually need it

An ideal Mega Dragonite could be a Fairy/Flying type Pokémon, but as an advanced version of Togekiss.
