I'M NOT EXPECTING DETAILS MARTY, BUT SALLY MUST HAVE BEEN DISTRACTING YOU TO MISS AN ENTIRE STATE LIKE WISCONSIN. Damned caplock. This was one of the coolest things I've seen in awhile. 6 rpms!? wow! You could probably have set your beer on that unit while it was running. There must have been nearly 0 vibration. Great find - thanks Meandering Marty
Excellent video Marty!! I’m liking your channel, looking forward to your next video. Love the way you & Sally combine talents to produce excellent content!! 👍👍
Kimberly Clark use to have a paper mill for magazine's gloss single or double sided in Niagara WI, until they sold it out to another company and years later closed it down.
Hi Marty and Sally, according to gargoyle: The Olympic sized pool is 165 feet long by 56 feet wide (8 lap lanes, each 7 feet wide). It holds 490,000 gallons (almost 1/2 million gallons). So over 8 pools a day?? And from a CPI inflation Calculator: $80,000 in 1890 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $2,761,046.15 today, an increase of $2,681,046.15 over 134 years. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 2.68% per year between 1890 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 3,351.31%...Please keep in mind, I'm an innumerate! A fire plug: From the 16th century, as wooden mains water systems were installed, firefighters would dig down to the pipes and drill a hole for water to fill a “wet well” for the buckets or pumps. This had to be filled and plugged afterwards, hence the common US term for a hydrant, 'fireplug'. (Also, from gargoyle) Finally, a big enough water source to make a Slip 'N Slide work! Great video!
