@@joeandrews7329why do you sign off on every single comment you make with “from Joe x” like you’re finishing a letter? It’s a bit saddo tbh… “From Luke.” 😐
I remember watching this with my grandad and uncle before my bed I love watching these firefighting videos as I was inspired by my grandad to be a firefighter when I'm older I'm nearly 18 and I will never get bored watching this. John your video about you joining the fire service in 1985 had made me more confident and not scared to do the job that my grandad was doing before he retired I was a cadet and that made me feel like I was doing the real thing its really amazing watching different fire services but you have inspired me John linden hope other people feel the same as I do
I'm like you I'm 26 when I was 3 years old I would play fireman with my grandad always love the fire service always want to be a firefighter got a big fire engine model collection and helmet the fire service is the job on earth
christopher jenkins when I was 9 years old a man set his kitchen on fire I was there for an hour watching them put it out and investigate what caused the fire my uncle is like me when we here sirens we have to look on the incident feed to see where they are or where they have been I will never get bored of the fire service my little brother is 4 years old and I sit on the sofa with him watching fireman Sam I’m too old to watch it on my own but I like the way how the modern hoses are still being used in the show
@@harveycollinson3333 I know its like a drug when we see the fire engine coming down the road I always follow Portchester fire station on twitter see what fire calls they have been to
Crazy memories im 25 now and i remember watching this on VHS when i was very young just showed my little boy it cos he likes fire engines cant believe its still on here🤣
The three Mega Machines tapes were my childhood. The tanks one was my favourite, then diggers and fire trucks. Didn't even know there was a police one until 7-10 years ago.
I remember watching this over and over again and now I can share it with my kids but it’s amazing to see how little the college at Moreton-in-Marsh has changed still the same buildings 😂
I remember this classic vhs from my childhood like its was yesterday but still have a good taste for fire and rescue related TV programmes and movies for as far as I'm concerned
Having done a little training with LFRS, they told me the Sub Officers trained like that until 2005. Nowadays it’s still real but contained inside glass boxes, escape room style, to minimise risk.
I've actually visited to the Morton on Marsh college as a kid n stood right next to the hydraulic platform, pretty sure it will have been the same one as in the video John Lesslie is describing and the airport machines, though they were yellow ones at the time ca 1997. The fire chief showed me, my aunt & uncle round the facility cyz I specifically wanted to have a look after seeing this video😃😃😃😃. Very nice guys and a helluva an experience..
I've been to FSC many times & it is a disgrace following privatisation years ago. No centre of excellence at all, just greed for profit. Many of the fire appliances were destroyed or damaged in a fire in the appliance room. They had the audacity to beg Fire brigades to give them old ones, as they weren't even insured. A fantastic facility gone to wrack & ruin, the grass was knee high & no one could even see out of the windows as they were so dirty. The accomodation was deemed unfit for asylum seekers.
@@ashleyhoward8926 yep sounds about right to me when things are privatised & companies get greedy. I went in the very late 90s & loved walkin round it with one of the staff.
Normally John Leslie Can Be Silly As He Was On Both Wheel Of Fortune And This Morning But He Stayed Sensible On This. He Doesn’t Seem To Be On Television Nowadays.I Do Tell You That Heathrow Airport Seems To Be The Busiest Airport In Britain Than Leeds Bradford As It Is My Local Airport From Where I Live.
AshRichardson F1 😂😂😂. We have all done that at some point in our careers or driven out of the station with the charging lead still attached. !! All our new trucks have alarms on the lockers to indicate when they are open.
john linden No way!! Haha I'm now in my 20s but grew up watching VHS items like this. This was my absolute favourite, my Mum used to put it on every night and I'd fall asleep to it, very happy memories indeed. It means I've watched this well over 100 times and it's taken me over a decade to spot that hatch left open! I watch it every now and then these days just for the fun of it. Thank you so much for uploading it!
For the sake of the video and the fact that station which is still operational today was built in 1920s has a listed building status on it so that bell wouldn't be removed
I'm going to be a Firefighter and put out fires with the hose, rescue people from houses, be in the Fire Engine and wear boots pants coat breathing apparatus hood and helmet
