Mega Man 2 (Game Boy) - Main Theme [MM7 remix]

MM2GB's main theme has a nice melody but I always thought it was a little too bare-bones for Mega Man, so with this remix I tried to have more stuff going on in the background. Plus it's a good chance to use some of those MM7 samples I haven't used before.
Huge thanks to Jasper Valentine's 2A03 rendition of this theme, I used it for a reference.

It's a little bit unfair, that this track didn't get his own stage and remade in MegaMan 10, don't you think? I really like this tune ~

Quint doesn't really have a stage; he appears after you beat half of the MM3 bosses in MMII. Would be cool if he used Wily's fortress stage in that game, though.

Technically, Quint isn't one of the Mega Man Killers, so it would feel a tad out of place.

@@p3tux024 well in that game the person we see isn't Quint it's Mega Man Shadow they are two completely different characters which means Quint already died before the events of that game

Mega Man II on the Game Boy was extremely underrated, but now I want to make a project out of it. That probably won't get finished, but it seems like a GREAT idea. This song is better than the original in my opinion, but maybe that's just because I love Mega Man VII. Well done! :D

Apparently, the composer for Mega Man II wrote all of its tracks as if they were for an NES game instead of a Game Boy game. I don't know where I read that, or why the composer made that decision, but that's probably why the soundtrack sounds so bad. Mega Man II was outsourced, so the development team likely wanted to save money.

To be fair, the ost was for the Game Boy...hence Mega Man II (GB). The music wouldn’t sound that great in the first place.

Game Boy had perfectly capable sound output at the time, rather comparable to the NES. They were simply different, and writing for one when you were making a game for another was a disaster.

It's actually either World 5 or Challenger from the Future, World 5 because of Quint's death, Mirai no Chosensa because of Rockman Shadow.
