What are the conditions for a hundo run in MML2? You can't get SS in Easy or Hard, but you can still access every dungeon and collect all items/treasure, right? I figure that's probably sufficient for the standards of a hundo run. If I ever get better internet and can stream reliably, I'm interested in picking up this game to speedrun, alongside Super Metroid randomizers and derusting in Quest 64. But I'd probably make up my own category, like Hard Mode All Dungeons or something, where you must collect the B/A/S Refractors. Also, I was clutching my armchair at 1:21:32. How you managed to save the run there must have been nothing short of witchcraft. That was some kind of black magic you pulled there.
For 100% we currently only run it on Easy mode, but 100% for this game is hard to define. Easy and Very Hard both have unique licenses to them that Normal/Hard can't get, and Easy has the Accessory Pack Omega. The conditions though are: every buster part, every unique item, every sidequest, every possible Roll diary entry that can be gotten in one playthrough. We don't max out all weapon upgrades or canteen/bottle but we do everything else. The reason why we run hundo on Easy is because of the need to grind zenny to buy all the buster parts. Easy mode has zenny values quadrupled of Normal, but Very Hard has them halved. Better to grind for 20 minutes than 2 hours. We have occasionally talked about a sort of All Refractors run but haven't bothered to make a leader board category for it yet. It'd definitely be a more tolerable run than 100% which requires a zenny grind and doing all the quizzes.
I've been messing lately with a gameshark. So far i haven't been able to find skips. Loading zones aren't there until certain flags have been activated.
I'm doing a very hard mode run right now myself (No speedrun I suck too much) and with how much I've been struggling It's amazing you beat it this fast. Also when I fought the second boss on forbidden island I couldn't stand still. He would actually keep walking towards me and run me over if I did. I wonder if that's because I was staying locked onto him. Anyways awesome stuff man.
Yeah his behavior is very random. It's best to create some distance so you can afford to stand and stuttershoot. The times where I stand still even when he does a jump/shockwave is because of the elevation difference. So if you stand on a snow mound with his elevation being lower than yours, the shockwave won't hit you. Also it's best to try to hit his nose for the best damage. If the angle/positioning is good, you'll hit the nose and body at the same time for effectively double damage. It works up until it blows up twice.
