i love the last part when megaman desperately escape the castle just like his life depends on it (and the music fit so perfectly), its really intense though not really hard.
Really though, this is absolutely incredible game design. The dev obviously is a fan of the series and it shows. Should definitely be contracted by Capcom to develop a new Mega Man game (if not just release this one as an official title). Well done
I have played and beat Megaman 1-10 and can say this is easily on par with any original Megaman made by Capcom, albeit with much higher difficulty. This game is so good that many people mistake it as an actual Megaman game. The bosses are original, the design is good and the music is solid all-around. The idea of tying the classic series to the X series was a brilliant idea that makes fans just salivate. If Megaman X StreetFighter got supported by Capcom, this should too. If there was one thing I would have changed about this is adding checkpoints to each level. I cannot enough about this game.
I see a lot of people bitching about canon this and canon that... but who the fuck cares? With a little tweaking here and there (or a lot of tweaking, but whatever), this could be released as official. People have said it's fanboy-ish in plot... but how else would you connect the original series with X? There have been bigger disasters... like Mr. X who was obviously Wily. Or all the useless shields and other weapons that didn't matter. Every weapon in this game was useful. Nothing went to waste. So who the hell cares? Besides - it's not like Capcom is ever going to release a MM "original series (numbered)" that's going to connect rock with X. This is as close as we're probably going to come, and I think this was pretty fucking brilliant.
Idk if you'd care to read this answer after all these years but... The Classic series and the X series shouldn't be connected, they should simply be 2 parallel universes were whatever events lead to different outcomes. I say this because there are many plotholes in connecting the two. Dr Light making X to become hope for humanity and X being the most human like reploid ever doesnt really make sense when pretty much every robot Willy and Light had feelings.
WOOOOOW sooo amazing this game came up to be!!! I loved everything!!! this is by far one of my favorites!!! shame on you Capcom for not supporting this!! SHAME ON YOU!!!!
Rainbow Man is my new favorite boss, his gimmick is so new, they really missed out But I wouldn’t have called him Rainbow Man I’d’ve gone for something cooler, like Spectra Man, Spectrum Man, or Prism Man. The mast name is my favorite
Absolutely! I have played and beat Megaman 1-10 and can say this is easily on par with any original Megaman made by Capcom, albeit with much higher difficulty. @@shaitet - I mean, yeah, it was Willy just like always. But there IS an interesting twist here, the fact that the game really did start by Willy's experiment blowing up on his face, nearly backfiring on him.
This may not be canon…but damn isn't the best Mega Man fan game ever! Such unique bosses and gameplay mechanics. The music is somewhat not-so hot in some areas, though it really shines in other areas. This is just an amazing and well-designed game all around!
Mega Man Unlimited? Not that I can remember. It's been a while since I've played, but I remember it being like most other Mega Man games; difficult, but learn the game's patterns and you can beat it. But, the thing is, that's how the classic Mega Man games have always been. I've been playing Mega Man since I was 5-years-old, as well, so the physics and style of the classic style of Mega Man games is a little ingrained into my brain.
MitsuhideTheVagrant Did you manage to beat it? I only found a handful of rom hacks more unfair than this game. Although it does look and sound true to it's source, it has an amazing number of cheap shots, death pits, spikes and enemies that come in without warning. Yes, Mega Man has always been about learning patterns - I have been playing it for 17 years now - but the originals always had a time gap before every attack that allows you to predict in case you don't know what's coming at you. And a shitload less of spikes and pits, too.
Yeah he does, if you look closely at the castle when its being blown up, you can see Mega Man getting teleported out of there, if you look at the color its bass's color scheme.
People need to realize that this game isn't cannon... it's just a fan game trying to connect the classic series with the X series (which still left plot holes, like what happens to Bass, Proto man, Roll, Rush and the others and how the hell did Willy manage to build such an advanced robot like Zero?)
Yes it is, but it's the best story for fanmade games until now. Better than Megaman VS Street Fighter that Capcom back it up, I wish this game to become canon.
Milen Anessar This game is crap, the story is crap, the chiptune is crap, the pixel art is crap, the level design is crap, the name is crap. You can't be serious.
i dunno but I see all cutscenes and secrets from megaman x series and everything says that Dr. Wily created Zero. of course the fan game tries to tell that part of the story. Maybe Dr. Wily created Zero on a time that is really close to when Dr. Light created X But what about MegaMan, ProtoMan, Bass, Roll etc? I actually dunno, say what u think :P
Some people complain about the damage ratios for when you take a hit, but I honestly don't care about that. Neither do I care for the abundance and sometimes unfair placing of spikes. I'm fine with them. The only, singular, thing I dislike about this game is the lack of checkpoints. I know there's an easy mode that has them, but I don't feel that you should *have* to play on that mode to get at least a few checkpoints.
Agreed. I have played and beat Megaman 1-10 and can say this is easily on par with any original Megaman made by Capcom, albeit with much higher difficulty. This game is so good that many people mistake it as an actual Megaman game. The bosses are original, the design is good and the music is solid all-around. Just finished watching this. So GOOD! That entire ending sequence was amazing. I felt they saved the best music for the "not wily" stages and all the way to the credits. If only all fan games were like this!
I of course not the fan of fan games or repartitions of original franchises, but this project have very pleasantly surprised me! As it is visible that people very much start:does robots with unique design, style and opportunities borrowing something from the original, have kept characters of the main characters and their action as well as in classics and besides have shown the Zero prototype in all beauty with the Independent Virus! The people, you are big good fellows! I wish you all the best in real and in virtual life! I hope, for continuation!;-)
This looks unbelievable. If the controls are up to snuff, which I'd assume they are based on the amount of care put into this, then I REALLY want to play this. Mega Man 11 lol
Thanks for the playthrough, I don't want to necessarily play all these clones so its good that someone does it. * This game looks both great and terrible. Its obviously got its ques from the MM9 school of punishing level design that doesn't flow at all, some times just unnecessarily roadblocked. And when it ups the ante its even worse. One unit wide spike drops? Ridiculous but alas, some people like that. Some of the tracks are also terrible or forgettable and easily could have dropped a few out and replace them with one the many Final stage tracks. The dialogue is clunky and unnecessary. But besides all those, theres some geniuous design in there too: The all backgrounds are stellar, blockset designs are great, Yoku man map is horrifying but unique and memorable, miniboss designs are fun, some of the bosses are great. Its up to bar with official ones- just a bit more polish and flow would have made this great.
@Starscream91 It's been a while now since I played it but I stll think laying your maps with so much instadeath isn't very fun when it ramps up so fast and varies so much by bosses already, but alas, its just my humble opinion.
Holy crap, no wonder I never heard of this game before...fanmade, but brilliant game, I must say! I just wish there was an official game that connects the X series with the classic...too many plot holes and unfinished business and unanswered questions...
"This game is worthy to be called Mega Man 11 and be considered canon by Capcom." Nail man is literally a nail with arms and legs. At least Heat Man was designed to look like a zippo lighter. Not a thermostat, or heat lines with arms and legs. I like the game, but it's purely fan made and fan service. Any people who have nostalgia for these games and put down MM1, 2, and 3-- it just painfully shows your age, just like it painfully shows mine saying I love those games. People are always crying about the difficulty in Mega Man, but go back and play 20 random NES games from the late 80s early 90s and you'll see Mega Man was far more fair and graphically beautiful in comparison to most. Otherwise, it wouldn't be the hit it is today, and there would be no fan games for it because the fans wouldn't be fans. I miss it being what it was for so many years when it was on the NES-- a great platformer with greater challenges that didn't really need an amazing story because we all knew where it was going anyway, and knew that if we played well, Mega Man would see that justice was done. I love MMX, but it just doesn't work with Mega Man in my opinion. Two separate series. It'd be like connecting MM and MM Legends or MM Battle Network. It's fan service. Which is why Capcom will probably never fully connect the dots either... better to keep the area in between them nebulous. And if they do in a big way (other than in the X games going backwards like they have already), feel free to come gloat at me in the future.
Megaphil X defiently needs to be hired by capcom or by any game devolopers. This is a great game and it the perfect game to introduce the x series later on
This game unifies the Classic and X series... least i think, though the appearance of Zero hints at that fact. Bass and Protoman probably put themselves into the new BattleNet as netnave. Dido would go for Megaman too a couple of years later, unifying with a lost soul in the Net. Dr. Light will build X a couple of years later and seal him in a moral test chamber, leading to the X series.
***** That would not work since it been established that the Battle Network is in a different universe tjhn the rest of the series. Not to mention that there are several plot holes that would be hard to fix. For one, the Battle Network version of Bass was not created by Wily.
Is this the latest version of the game? A "Double KO" bug was supposedly fixed in the latest release, though I do not know if it applied to the bug that affected you in the Wily boss rush stage.
I love Megaman so much is 10 times better than Mario I'll tell you that when was the first video game where you take your enemies power and make it yours that's the Brilliance behind this game Long Live Mega Man I own everyone
