Ok well, here we go!
The Mega Man X medley I did is one of my best performing videos on this channel so it's clear to me that a lot of you share my passion for that game's music. I've been really trying to give old songs I've done full cover versions, and with how cold it's been lately, it felt like now would be the perfect time for this one. Does this mean I'll do more from the medley? Perhaps!
The main reason here though is that when I did this song in the medley, the riff defeated me and I had to just play it on keyboard. I have been really working on my chops lately after being really lazy with actual practice so I felt it was time to drive this one home. I knew it would be difficult so I made sure to play the riff in as many octaves and as many places as I could just to take steps out of my comfort zone. Not only that, I decided to arrange the solo to be very sweep heavy. I've decided also to film some live takes of my solos and fun parts for Instagram (there's a live solo of the Marnie's Theme solo there already!) so go follow me there if you haven't already for some of that!
I'm working on some cool stuff I'm hoping to finish by the end of the year! Stay tuned!

SO. MUCH. NOSTALGIA. Seriously, though, great choice. Megaman X1-3 have excellent soundtracks, although it's not like the Mega Man series in general has any shortage of good soundtracks. Also, although I can't disagree with the people saying that you should do Storm Eagle, too, I personally am of the opinion that Flame Stag from X2 or Toxic Seahorse from X3 would rock harder.

A friend of mine and I used to joke that Capcom kept a man who had never seen the sun in a basement and beat him until he could make music filled with enough sadness and rage to be in Mega Man X. I would like to think that because of this track, that man is at peace.

Every track from Megaman X is a masterpiece. But when I think of my least favorite song in the game, Chill Penguin has to be up there (Sting Chameleon in at a close second). But as I saw the thumbnail for this video I also thought; "If there is one song I think Family Jules would cover the best from this album, it'd have to be this one". Spoiler alert; I was not disappointed.

Unpopular opinion. I kinda prefer/miss classic Jules with more of a raw sound, lesser production values and posters as far as the eye could see. Not that I'm not happy for your success. I just never really find myself revisiting your more recent covers.
