First Cyber Maze stage, also known as Zero Space or the Zero Virus stages, from Mega Man X5 for the Sony Playstation PSX. No damage taken, buster only. Here we re-live Quickman's stage from Megaman 2. And although this stage is not an exact replica in terms of layout and design, there are obvious similarities and the lasers once again cause instant death. The first section shouldn't cause too much trouble, but the second section can be frustrating. In fact, there are a couple lasers here that you will just barely avoid, and honestly, will require a bit of luck. That is unless you utilize Dark Hold.

While the Shadow Devil does have RNG, I do remember that it's not as RNG as you think. Basically(this isn't fully analyzed, so it might be incorrect) he has like 3-4 patterns to choose from for sending his blobs. As such you can recognize them from the first few blobs and get used to that. I wasn't too great at it, still took me like 30 Mins to one hour to beat him, but I believe I'm better at games now than then.

For anyone who's struggling with this boss a hella lot idk if this is only true for the legacy collection version of X5 but if you continuously jump in the top corner of whichever side the blocks are flying at you can avoid em entirely but u gotta mash that shi Makes the boss ridiculously easy

Yeah but the window to screwing it up is very minor and the touch damage on the outline is ridiculous. It is a useful tactic though when it splits in half and sends the halves between the middle though.

You are lucky you didn't get the part where the Shadow Devil stops moving it's blocks after 2 rows are done moving, and then both sides send blocks to each other at the same time.

***** If that happens and you're going for a no damage run, you're ruined.The Devils are the hardest bosses in Mega Man, Yellow Devil in MM1, Yellow Devil in MM3 and this Shadow Devil. The Green Devil in MM8 and Megaman & Bass is easy.

Holly shit, reaching the boss for just 39 seconds. It takes more than 10 minutes for me to evade all lasers. And the music, that music is GREAT!

0:35 Thank you for this tip. It seems that dash jump is a lot faster and better than trying to dash in the air. Repeating the same steps after that was a good way to finish this section without the time stop.

Alternatively you can bypass the lasers by using the Dark Hold and stop time. I guess this is the way one is supposed to pass this part since during the fall you also find a couple of power orbs to fill the weapon before it runs out.

Don't know why but I have always found very cool the way one enters in this stage and the one in the Volcano, that inmense crater in the background makes the whole thing look ominous.

Sliider You got lucky when the block change sides, cause there are times that they stop after 2 columns, and throw them to the other side. If it happened, your No Damage would surely be ruined. And I guess it happened more tan once when you recorded this video.

Late Comment, but you can use a Walljump Trick, or if button mashing isn't your thing, the Gaea Armor, although it will make the stage much harder.

What happens if the Purple Zero looking virus touches you? Do you just get hurt or something?

This virus is twice as effective as the normal one (sigma´s head) it takes two or maybe one of those Zero virus to infect the player, while you are infected by the virus (this one or the normal one), which is a temporal change, you are inmune to spikes but any damage you take is amplified greatly.

@@theoneitself I think it affects both characters the same way, maybe one of X's armors has improved endurance against virus but as far I remember both Zero and X were very vulnerable to this Zero Virus and I am pretty sure I never went there without either the Ultimate or the Falcon armor.

How many tries (or hours) did you require to master it? Im playing it again on the Legacy Collection and i swear to god, fuck capcom, how did it expect kids not to stress with this? The Devil aint that hard, but the laser beams before it... Are so... Annoying, you can't outrun them 95% of the time, and if you can, you die in the next one. I wonder how did i manage to beat this game as a kid? You need to be extremely quick in reacting to avoid them properly without the stop timing ability or die a million times to learn the route.
