Mega Venusaur X in Pokemon Legends Z-A

No grass/ghost types besides trevenant and gourgeist… and decidueye… and dhelmise and sinistcha…

I think a grass ground Venusaur for stab earthquake and a water steel Blastoise for stab flash cannon would be badass

It'd be sick if mega Venusaur X leaned more into the vine aspect. Like the flower shrivels kinda, and crazy thorny vines extend instead. Then make it more poisonous as well. Maybe straight poison type, or like poison/dark.

My idea for a hypothetical Mega Venusaur X would try to differentiate it completely from the "fat" body shape of normal Venusaur and the present Mega Venusaur. I'd imagine it to be much slimmer and sleeker in body type, with the flowers and leaves becoming thinner, sharper and more angular. It would also have smaller petals and leaves all over its body but much stronger vines along with newly developed Bulbasaur "bulbs"/seeds which it could use as throwable weapons. It would have a very high Speed stat as it would use its vines for mobility and to trip up and confound the opponent with its seeds. Grass/Fairy with Prankster or Speed Boost variants.

I think you've forgotten that Decidueye was also Grass/Ghost AND has a signature ghost type attack.

Here’s my take on the grass/ghost Venusaur X: Symbiotic Bond all grass moves heal the user when contact is made (be it special or physical) and the amount gained is dependent on the power of the move and is doubled in sunlight

I think we could take inspiration for alternate mega forms for Venusaur (and Blastoise) from their Gmax forms. Grass/Fairy for Venusaur makes sense, the flower turning into essentially an umbrella as the alternate mega/Gmax form could be used as shelter by smaller Pokemon and give it the fairy type

That Ghost Vensaur really did come out of nowhere lol

I could totally see a “tainted” Venusaur where it’s flower wilts and it turns into like grass dark type or grass ghost type. I feel like that would also fit more with the mega X types, where they seem more sinister in origin than their Y counterparts.

I feel its more likely for charizard and mewtwo to get mega Z forms than the rest of the starters getting a X form

I actually really dig this concept, the ability sold it for me. I'd be happier to give new Pokémon megas instead, but giving any existing mega Mon a chance for an alternate one is kinda neat too.

Honestly, a Grass/Rock Venusaur with it’s flower acting like a crystalline flower dropping light beams would be sick, especially with the Ultimate Weapon

Saw another comment mentioning this, but I think adding the Dragon typing and really emphasizing the reptilian characteristics of both Venusaur and Blastoise would be really cool! Aside from that, I think Grass/Ground would be much cooler than Grass/Fairy. Could delve more into the plant and earthly qualities of Venusaur.

When you said Trevenant and Gourgeist were the only Grass/Ghost mons… you forgot about Dhelmise, Decidueye, Brambleghast, and Sinistcha

grass/ghost is the 6th most common type combination

For Mega Venusaur getting a second Mega I'd give it a Poison/Ground typing instead and have it's ability allow it to hit Steel types with poison moves(more interesting than Corrosion only allowing you to Poison them)

With Mega Venusaur X, I agree with the fairy type being added. But make its flower become AZ's Floette's flower. That way Venusaur represents the weapon, Charizard represents the destruction, and Blastoise can represent the war? 🤔

To me, a Mega Venusaur X should be either Grass/Rock or Grass/Electric type. Why ? Grass / Rock reduces the damage from Fire-type attacks and offers an almost regular damage from Water-type attacks. Poison-type attacks could be the only problem, alongside Fighting-type and Steel-type moves. Let us remember that Cradily [not Ogerpon holding the Cornerstone Mask] is quite bulky and can tank almost all attacks as if it were Shuckle. Sure, it would have less Speed than usual, but if it were partnered with a user of Trick Room, no one could surpass it. Grass / Electric is a considerable alternate type category since it can take down both Mega Charizard Y and all of Mega Blastoise forms. It could have a variant ability of Thick Fat or something that maximizes its Speed since it's not that confined to Earth, much like how Hisuian Electrode works. And, let's be honest ; Bug-type attacks and Flying-type attacks would do natural damage instead of large damage. If they want to make it almost ridiculous in terms of strength and "density", they'll opt to give it an ability that absorbs electricity from any damage the target suffers when hit by an Electric-type attack and uses it to restore a small part of its health. That would be insane.

Make mega venusaur the inspiration for the ultimate weapon or something like that Or just make it grass rock in the shape of the ultimate weapon

Hey Ttar, just had a strange thought. Mega Stones have always been a held item, do you think they'll keep them being a held item? Dynamax and Terrastalization don't require a held item, so I'm curious because taking up a held item slot is a determining factor in whether a pokemon is worth being mega evolved or not.

The venasuar look to much like it would be a regional form me to accept it as a mega or at least yet

there is no possibility of another mega form of Venusaur and Blastoise. They don't need a new mega evolution. Can we please stop giving pokemon mega evolution that they don't need. Give it to fully evolved pokemon that has a base stat total under 500.
