Orcs have left Middle Earth to invade our own world, all in hopes of revenge against a Ranger... mega64.com shop.mega64.com / mega64 / mega64 Makeup effects by Garrett Hunter End artwork by Daniel Dussault
one where they can afford decent costumes so people understand what's happening and also it's been a few years since the first one so people get what RU-vid is now
+Muzska89 Lol, hacía la tira de años que no veía un vídeo de este canal y justo me encuentro a uno de los youtubers que más veo en los comments xD (O que más vería si subiese vídeos más a menudo, EJEM) ;)
I know this is a kind of mood-killing concept, but if all Mega64 videos had _this_ high quality of costumes and makeup, we'd definitely be used to more cheering and less swearing. So yeah, the costumes and fx makeup were sublime. (Edit: Italics, in case confusion is arising from missing intended inflection.)
With the makeup in this one, maybe the people saw all the time that it must have taken to pull this off, and waited in anticipation as they saw entertainers instead of some guys with tacky cosplays. So that's why the crowd cheered you on at the end instead of being irritated and annoyed. Or maybe I'm totally wrong and just haven't seen many of the Public Game Experiments in a while. Maybe you just happened to get more positive feedback this time around. Maybe I should shut up. Yup.
Look at the tool at 2:40 , he's totally not digging the Mega and then realizes once the girl in his party group starts to /clap, he ultimately goes for the clapping too.
Your acting was fucking phenomenal. I mean, it can't be that hard to imitate an Orc, but still. Everything from the voice to the movements to the look on your faces was great.
That was a TON of effort for a modestly amusing payoff. I think because this time the guys looked so similar to a legitimate street performance piece, they lost something in the crowd reactions. It ended up just looking like a Disney World bit. That is until the screaming at the end which was fun.
All those hours of make-up application. All that planning, all the probable filming and moving shit around and all that. All for a two-minute video. Gotta admire the devotion.
The ending seals it. Easily one of the best with them harassing ppl as orcs and Derrick being a fucking madman, but the "directed by Peter Jackson" fade out to sketch just knocks it outta the park.
I think this is the best yet. Costumes, fx makeup, even the round of applause, all without flaws. Even casting the roles was on point. You guys have come a long way in a decade, how much farther can you go?
Garrett really outdid himself on this one, Rocco and Shawn look fantastic. Also coming from a Londoner, voicework was also superb. Sound like a couple of old boys.
Mega64 isn’t just a comedy troupe with a very unique sense of humor that you literally can’t find anywhere else. They are also absolutely fantastic character actors. Rocco is so good that he disappears into every role he plays. I love their acting just as much as their humor.
this is one of my favorite videos from you guys because it feels like its more of an impromptu skit that any person can enjoy. i hope there are more of these style public videos.
holy shit, you guys got the best costumes and makeup you've ever done and you only made 2 minutes of footage?!? Still, one of the best, instant classico
Weapons, taunting threats, and screaming. Standing applause everyone loves it. Armless guys jumping in a red robed leotard ? Police are called on them for weapons. Mega64 is awesome!
BearHoggy They did stuff in their other Public Experiment videos which were less serious than this (like the Journey vid) where they got the cops called on them. I say the reason why they didn't get in trouble for this one is because the characters they were fit the stereotypical portrayal of what 'evil' is.
Obviously it looked more 'theatrical' than normal, so Americans have no trouble IDing that there's nothing to worry about. It's when they do their less conspicuous looking stuff that they are indeed more conspicuous because no one can identify what the joke is.
