@@jacktorres2284 the second I read this comment I was expecting some vile shit in the reply section...I must say I’m actually a little impressed that it took 7.5 years for someone for someone to finally say that...idk
Dave is a metal genius, He oozes talent and skill. The man is the on of the rare metal lead singers that play actual complicated riffs while singing. He is a metal god! Love this guy!
jeff61177 hetfield does that too, dave considers himself and hetfield and someone who I cant remember right now, the best rhythm guitarists in the world. dave also seems to know a lot of politics, something which I don't know shit about
Almost every interview with him that I've ever seen, he was like this. Even in the 80s when he was an out of control smackhead and coke freak, he was usually a good interview.
Yeah! Even as he's thanking her for the interview, the way that he kind of glares at her....that is not comfortable to watch! She apparently has no idea that Dave used to be called "Dangerous Dave"!
No, they're not.. Dave even acknowledges in this very video how they're more intelligent than the rest of the scene, and he's right. Most metal fans are close-minded, ignorant, and full of bullshit bravado
He voted for Trump because he knows TRUMP is the man. If you don't see it now you will. How the wool has been pulled over so many peoples eyes. This impeachment will expose EVERYTHING. Watch and learn.
@@ButtahDawgMcDouble Whaddya' mean I can't be the president of the United States of America. Tell me something: It's still "we the people", rrrrrright?
Clearly Dave Mustaine was, and still is a brilliant individual, tho he handled this interview exceptionally well, introspective, well balanced, transparent and uniquely authentic. If I didn't know he was a metal rocker in Megadeath, I would say he sounds like a best selling author in the field of psychology. The fact that he's still going strong after all these years, Dave Mustaine has proven time and again he's no one's puppet, but rather an amazing metal musician and a legend in his own time.
Dave is a VERY intelligent dude. I am pleased he is like this really. He has an unfettered sense of logic and a true awareness of the world. I feel for his spirit sometimes and that's a part of why Megadeth is my top favorite metal band ever. He's more than just a metal icon. He's an icon, period.
He epitomises everything good about heavy metal. Provocative, honest, intelligent, edgy, funny yet dark, original, confident...he really was ahead of his era, or rather, leading a whole generation, a whole era. Such a legend. He loves music so much, he really was born to do exactly that. So real, so into it. Crazy dude
@Hear My Playlists no, I listen to my fair share of metal. Big Megadeth fan, hence me watching this video. But there's nothing wrong with not liking metal
God, some of you people are pathetic. You find any reason to pick at an interviewer. At least she was respectful aside from the moment she tried to talk over Dave. Contrary to what most of you like to think, Dave or any rock or metal artist is not God. They're just musicians doing a job they get paid to do. Dave will tell you that himself. Stop kissing their ass. This interviewer was very respectful.
Very well spoken! I agree. Dave is very misunderstood as far as his intelligence goes. His mind is what made Megadeth one of the most popular bands in the world.
I think she was surprised at Dave's intelligence. She proved looks are deceiving. Stereotyping is an assumption. Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups.
What a great interview. Great articulation from Dave about what heavy metal is really about. It's sad that in today's world people are just looking for a cheap meaningless thrill that involves very little thought and don't take the time to try and understand the world around them. Reflection and understanding are two things I hope more of our youth will grasp on to.
Not only genius, as within many of us, it takes a certain drive to give a damn about humanity enough to consider giving what we have freely to someone else. I makes me want to get back into the "scene". However like Dave says, in so many words with supply and demand, We can only give what we earn. Or more accurately, We won't be able to give more. If we do then we are left stripped. On the other hand, this is what true giving iz. Gongrats to Mr. Mustaine! I listened to this since the early eighties and know the pointless competitions of being young with the exception of being young. 8-). He did a lot while burning that candle at both ends and I have the deepest respect for a man who considers his family before his own pride. God Bless Dave, Well done 8-) Chris
Very good interview. She was very fair and balanced, not like other interviewers who interview Metal musician's/band who just want to get their kicks out of trying to make them look stupid.
Dave, I respect you. Respect you not for your amazing super musical career spanning decades but for not 'biting the dust' - for not giving up following the 'incident' where those unfaithful ex-colleagues of yours treated you the way they did, just when the 'apple was ripe for the picking'. (I say 'colleagues' and not 'band-mates' because they weren't MATES at all!) And for fighting and not giving in to addiction, I can relate to that as I myself, am a recovering addict. You are a true model of inspirational to many. Add to that your skills as the best/fastest speed metal guitar player, song writer and singer, I say this You ARE one in a Billion! Keep it up you're truly Mega in every sense. [anyways, I prefer Mega to Meta any day!]
Recorded in 1995 and Dave explains todays generation, the music he plays, and his take on politics about as articulate, and honestly as anyone I've ever heard....This is not fake news....
Expression at 4:56 is total Dave - keeping his cool while this lady asks a question, and then talks over him when he tries to respond. Lady, this aint Lars - you don't want to get on Dave's bad side!
You need to watch more of his interviews, in fact, more interviews with the rest of the band, they're all intelligent. The fact you see Dave Mustaine the most, is because he's the band's front-man, lemme tell you, these people are not the dimwitted dopers the media likes to portray them.
she was talking about one of the possible interpretations of a tout le monde, which Dave indeed agrees at the start of his answer. She actually read the lyrics and interpreted the material and formulated a question and did something that most of people don't do, journalism and ask the source. She did a great journalistic job, for a genre that she obviously doesn't like, but respects enough to do a good job, she wasn't antagonistic or trying to outsmart anybody, she was inquisitive and professional, that's why Dave is really relaxed and not defensive at all, he's not pissed when he answers, we have all seen Dave pissed at reporters, this is not one of those cases. She did a better job than any "journalist" nowadays.
Dave rocks. I know he's still pissed about it, but getting kicked out of Metallica was the best thing that ever happened to him. Megadeths so much better.
@@mattylad7453 These are the best two thrash bands, they are both outstanding live. Megadeth has better albums overall though and stayed more true to their thrash roots. Metallica went very mainstream and became the one thrash metal band that it was ok to like in "polite circles"
Megadeth will always be Metallica Jr. I love how you Megadeth hard-sucks forget about "Risk," "Thirteen" and "Super Collider," when you go on and on and on about how crappy "Load" and "Reload" were.
Dave’s last statement was amazing. The Music live is not all puppies and kittens. It’s a rough lifestyle for most. Thanks for being so honest and humble
Dave is so intelligent,a class act and true metal legend.I was fortunate enough to have seen megadeth live for the first time recently and he’s a firm believer in giving back to the fans,at this show that I went to he upgraded everyone’s seats!!
@@pepesilvia1924 no he does not, by his own admission...his brilliance is more visceral than academic. Writes amazing songs and riffs, but his solos are nothing special...especially his signature ascending diminished arpeggio that he plays in some form or other in nearly every song. Marty made Megadeth sound as good as they did...when he left it was over for me.
@@Lovegun. here we go...another mouth breather who can't stand it when someone does not share their opinion. If u think his solos are the shit, that is your delusion. Don't denigrate those who are not impressed by them. You realize that when u say stuff like "lets see u play then" you sound like you are five years old. Grow up. Do really think i am going to waste time upload my playing just to prove to some random idiot that i can play? I don't give a shit what u think about me or anything else. Take your sad little ego back to the sandbox.
I don't think I have EVER seen an interview where both people were truly into it. I mean most "rockers" laugh at the interviewer because they don't know anything about the band their music or fan base. Most interviewers just want to poke and pride the "metal guy" for a sound bite or to piss them off to get a Jerry springer moment. Dave and she seemed truly into a knowledge-based question and answered. She did her research and was truly interested and respectful. GREAT interview.
If it wasnt for Megadeth id have odied and dead by now. Looking at his problems I never continued hard drugs. Its not that I don't want to do it now I would love to do it but if he fought so much to be sober then I think drugs not worth the run. HAIL Megadeth HAIL Dave Mustaine
Bro, when I met Mustaine he was such a sweethear; he comforted me so much - he hugged me until I stopped crying and he reassured me it’d be alright all the way through. He is such an intelligent and understanding person… from what I’ve known.
