I have a high respect for Dave, he's an awesome guitarist.... no doubt. Any band would have been lucky to have him, but what he's created with Megadeth is a metal legacy unlike anything the world could receive. That's the great thing about life... the ability to Create. And Dave gives us fucking awesome music. I know everyone has their opinions about the Grammys, but Dystopia is a legit, well-deserved win for best metal performance.
@J Finch Man, I couldn't agree more! Once I finished my classical guitar degree at 15, it was Dave Mustaine that made me want to play METAL, because I realised that every note, song he played, sang and wrote were the SAME modes, scales, chords, etc, but with DISTORTION, and played superbly fast and had some serious BALLS! I credit Dave for the beginning of my rock guitar career. Absolutely. and YES, DYSTOPIA is AWESOME.
Dave is a huge influence on me. He's a great human being and a god on the guitar. He did an interview about 12 years ago were he talked about going to a poor country to help build a clean water source. He said it really changed his outlook on fame and humanity. He said the people didn't care about who he was. They were thankful for him being there.
Dave Mustaine is AWESOME. MEGADETH is AWESOME... I did years of classical guitar training to get my degree but wanted to play electric guitar and as soon as I heard Megadeth's "RUST IN PEACE".. It wasn't hard to learn every note, because the classical/metal crossover was just so obvious. That's why I still play metal to this day. Intelligent metal. Someone said that there's a big difference between Metallica's S&M album ... and that difference is that the ORCHESTRA were playing tribute to Metallica, but with Dave Mustaine's work with the Orchestra is more like Dave paying tribute to Classical Music... and THAT is absolutely true.
@@rogervaldillez4879 Hey Roger, glad you agree. Seriously, a lot of people don't realize that the origins of "METAL" were based on all the important musical modes and scales that have always been fundamental to CLASSICAL music (Bach, Mozart, Tchaikovski etc). The only small difference is that now, it's done on modern guitars with distortion pedals. Oh haha and a modern drumkit instead of Tympani, etc.
@Puddentain Marion Neff HAHAHAHA that is really funny.... I once ran into Brad Pitt at a bar, playing DARTS. I just watched. He was drunk, for some reason he kept hitting SEVEN
It sort of sounds like Dave is doing the same thing that is going on at Prince's PAISLEY PARK. You recording your own vocals over a song, and taking the recording home.. Maybe thats where he got the idea for doing that, no shame if he did!!
behind panchos tacos balboa blvd so ac / dc lovers and megadetth and metallica lovers they are making a Christmas album we are the heavy metal world homeless coalition album for needy bring brand new blankets for free concert at Newport peir
@James 1967 I wouldn't exactly call Lars a scammer, but maybe a drummer with some over-adrenalized timing issues. Yet, Lars has been the backbone of Metallica since the beginning, and put up with his bandmates through NUMEROUS times when most people in his position would have just had enough and called it quits. I respect him for it. Due to him, and some others, Intelligent metal retains its roots.
Talent and intelligent are separate and independent skills. Dave Mustaine's case offers plenty evidence. Megadeth was the first heavy metal band that impressed me with the quality of its instrumental virtuosity, musical arrangements and lyrics, reflecting an important social and political moment in our country's history. Dave Mustaine's subsequent actions and statements make me pause. During the first days of Megadeth, Mustaine and Dave Ellefson fired Dijon Carruthers, because they "couldn't trust him." I wonder if Carruthers noticed that both Mustaine and Ellefson harbored racism viewpoints and had to conceal his black heritage to be part of the band. It is important to notice, that Megadeth band members have always been white men, whose hyper exaggerated macho performances are impossible to maintain during the doldrums of normal everyday living. These good-looking men are all handpicked by Mustaine. It is well known, his support of the disgraced Rick Santorum, former Pennsylvania senator, who wanted to ban abortion, opposed same-sex marriage and promoted the teaching of intelligent design. One of the most egregious Mustaine's claims was that President Obama was born outside of the United States, absurdity that could have been avoided by a simple research and common sense. Should we all ignored Mustaine's racism, until we find out what he really thinks about women and the native people? Most importantly, is his Jehovah's Witness and born-again Christian background. He is what religious people call troubled soul. It makes one ponder, how he reconciles his religion and beliefs, if he masturbates thinking about his band mates after a successful concert. In spite of it all, as a musician Dave Mustaine... his got talent.
