Dave was very off. Every artist has their days. They're human after all. Cristina sounded amazing as always. If you've never seen Lacuna Coil live. You're missing out. They put on an amazing show. I got to see them at a small venue and they blew the roof off that place!

Yes, Dave has sounded better. Dave also has 2 steel pins in his neck, and one of them is pushing on his vocal chords. I give him kudos for going for it. 99% of being a singer is just getting up there and doing it. Christina on the other hand, sounds amazing!

Couldn't find a women heavy and talented enough to what, drown out Dave's voice, or sing along to a too face paced tame and lame version of this song? She didn't even get a chance to demonstrate her range and talent for this, seriously sucked so bad I felt embarrassed for them. After singing with a very passionate and more talented vocalist in her own band Lacuna Coil, she must have been like WTF! is this man?! I've been a Megadeth fan from the beginning but for the guitar work, Dave can't sing to save his ass, and this acoustic stuff really exposes that, but their early albums are literally standards for the rest of the metal world to aspire too.

+DrAL00isin what can I say, there's a lot of cheating going on in the metal scene ... - Dave Mustaine can't sing well live but he's still a hot guitarist - Lars Ulrich only has one thing to do on stage namely to drum but this one thing he can't do well - I've been to other metal concerts where the sound engineering has been atrocious ... it just becomes one big droning roar. At one concert I got so annoyed that I went to the mixing board to complain and when I came to the mixing desk, the guy there stank of alcohol. I presume they thought it was OK to be drunk on the job. - many other metal vocalists don't have the technique to sing through an entire tour. Just listen to Angela Gossow, she roars through an entire concert show in, show out but then again she doesn't drink much and gets proper sleep during tours. ... and all of this shit they try to hide by turning up the volume. So I stopped going to metal gigs because there are 3 shit gigs for ever good one. Bands that have delivered tecnhically meritous gigs: The Haunted back in 2003, Alice in Chains at Sonisphere Festival, Metallica at Download Festival 2004 when Ulrich was replaced by Dave Lombardo, his own drum tech and Joey Jordison, Tool at Roskilde Festival (like listening to headphones), Judas Priest at Sweden Rock Fest '08, Firewind at Hellfest, Meshuggah at Hellfest, Lacuna Coil at a small venue ... and these few from dozens and dozens of gigs I have seen.

Dave has a nice voice . But he should have sang it in a different tuning instead because he can't sing high now. Don't get me wrong I'm not hating he's one of my favorite metal vocalist his voice is very unique but it looks like he was struggling to hit the high notes here everone has their bad days but Dave's guitar playing was and will always be sick !

I think he should take some or a type of rehab to take care of his voice, because you can see it in his face when he sings, that he force too much his voice, and that could bring him some problems in the future. I don't say he sings bad, I say he should do it to protect his voice so he could sing for more years

How many composers we have in metal as good as is Mustaine? He´s value is on the whole contribute he has given to metal music. Not the voice. This is about music. How many great singers do you have that have no songs to sing? Mustai has a lot of great songs but he hasn't a great voice. And so what?

To all the people that says it sounds like shit-- Dave had surgery on his spine from stenosis that fucked with his vocals chords so he can't sing very high anymore

True, but since this was performed post-surgery - and about as rough as I've heard Dave sing - with the interview just coming out, it made sense that it plays a part in his current performance. The only other explanation is either wear and tear on is voice, or just getting older. It seems the high notes are hardest for him, and he and James (Metallica) both have deeper voices now than when they recorded these songs and seem to have a hard time with the upper range at their ages.

An interview with Dave just went up where he talked about the recent surgery he had on his neck in 2011 affected his ability to sing since they came through the front of his throat for his procedure. He said the doctors warned him it would affect his singing, but he didn't believe them (but he does now). Cristina is incredible and is a great fit for this song...but Dave could have always asked Amy Lee of Evanescence. For my money...she is one of the finest female vocalists I have ever heard. And she has a persona as well...

I'd like to see the youtube halcyon guy get up on stage with them. I would bet they would keep him on stage for more than 1 song. I haven't seen a cover from him in a while now but, man, that guy kicks butt. Even real fans would be fooled by his singing it's so darn close.

My theory is that recently his concentration has been getting worse, so he's not as good at "multitasking", i.e. singing and playing guitar at the same time. The expressions on his face and his singing voice are likely the result of a strained effort at focusing on two things at once. At least he can still play guitar like a god too, though. I'd almost swear Kirk Hammet's been slowly developing arthritis.

I'd agree with that but they weren't this bad and did work very well with the song. Look at Rust In Peace...Polaris. Dave's voice is very weird but the song wouldn't sound right without the strange snarling-thing he does. Same thing for a lot of Megadeth songs like Sweating Bullets and Peace Sells. However, I do think he could sing and the One Night Live show is probably the best I've ever heard him sound vocally.

I love Dave but that the finish on that acoustic guitar is pretty crap. Also,Dave's vocals sound very bad here because it's an acoustic version its a lot more noticeable. I think he needs to rest his voice. His vocals were great from the system has failed to united abominations but have been shoddy ever since because he's been touring non -stop. Whilst we obviously want Megadeth to keep going, Dave resting his voice will make them even better.

Being that Megadeth is a nonstop evolution, with players being replaced all the time, which is kind of a good thing, What Dave should do is replace himself as the singer, while remaining as The Super God Guitarist and Chairman of The Board. Dave sounded fantastic at download this year so im not complaining, but his voice in this video isn't what it was. Megadeth are an epic live band though.
