Hey guys, looks like a message was omitted in the video when it was processed regarding pink capsules. You can only get *one* of the pink capsules in the entire game. There is a 5th hidden capsule that grants you the abilities of the first four pink capsules. To get this 5th capsule, you need All 4 blue capsules, all 8 Heart tanks, all 4 Ride Armors, all 4 Sub-Tanks. You also have to be full health when you enter the room it is in. If you grabbed a pink capsule and want to remove it, you can generate a password here mmhp.net/Passwords/MMX3/ with the things you've currently done in the game. I apologize for this mistake, and I'm sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused you.
Tresonance So I shouldn’t grab any of the pink capsules so I can get the hyper chip at Dr.Doppler stage 1? P.S. That was pretty cool how you grabbed the heart tank at Blizzard Buffalo’s stage. I figured you could only use a ride armor.
@@fredbread6487 Yes, that's correct, you have to avoid every Pink Capsule except the one in Dr. Doppler's first stage. That's interesting, I didn't know you could use Ride Armor to get it.
Unfortunately I took the healing chip without knowing. They say the password that gives you all the enhancement chips doesn't work on the X Collection. But I'm playing the game on the X Legacy Collection, so does it work for XLC, or only on SNES version?
@@Lauderdizzleoh well, not a big deal in the end. I just wish to have known sooner or not to have acted too quickly. But anyway, I'm already through with the X series since a while now, and I've gone to the Zero/ZX Legacy Collection now. That said, it was good playing about the classics, but my god was the power ups harvesting tedious in the first X games. The poor kids in the 90's sure must've been accustomed to much harder games than most we have today.
@@HeartFran24 you need to have all 8 heart tanks, all 4 sub tanks, all 4 blue capsules, all 4 ride armors, and *NO PINK CAPSULES* if you have one it will not work. you also need to be at full HP when entering the room
I think his channel is underrated in general. He has tons of useful videos like this one, and he edits all of them professionally. I'm wondering why he only has 71 subscribers... Well, 72 now.
Just beat 3 of the main stages without seeing a seeing a single amor upgrade and no more than one heart and subtank along the way. Now I see why. Damn, nearly all of them require the boots or a ride armor. No wonder I didn't see upgrades in my way, I forgot the secret path in Buffalo's stage
It's a confusing game for sure. The three bosses you can fight before Doppler stage 1 have to be defeated with the weapon they're weak against or they'll just come back. In one instance, it prevents you from getting Zero's blade.
I've owned all the various Capcom legacy games over the years, and after repurchasing it years ago for PS4 PS5 etcetera and finding out that they didn't include the PlayStation version of mega Man X3 they use the SNES version instead I immediately had to purchase the GameCube version of it because that version has the PlayStation mega Man X3 on it. I should receive it this week and cannot wait to play
This video help me finish this very annoying game...it's very hard to finish tgis game without the upgrades, though i did not get all the upgrades, just enough to beat this very annoying game.
I agree with you. Part of the reason I made this video was I too found it difficult to get some of the powerups, and even the alternate boss fight to obtain Zero's Sabre. Definitely not as discoverable as X1 and X2.
@@Tresonance dude you did great on this, I consider megaman as one of the hardest games I played, without this video..it will took me several hours or time to get the upgdares, one of the hardest upgrade is to get the ability to slide in the air, it took me several trials to obtain it but you make it looked easy lol
You can only get one of the pink capsules in the game. There is a hidden pink capsule in Doppler stage 1 (at 14:28) that has the Hyper Chip, this chip gives you the abilities of all 4 pink capsules. To get this 5th capsule, you need All 4 blue capsules, all 8 Heart tanks, all 4 Ride Armors, all 4 Sub-Tanks. You also have to be full health when you enter the room it is in. I aplogize if my video wasn't clear enough on that.
two points i would like to mention: at 0:09, notice that there's a Ride Armor gizmo there. if you have the Ride Armor, you can use it to punch those blocks out of the way. also, NONE of the Ride Armors will work at all until you get the one shown at 1:40.
I went for the Arm Chip in my lets play of X3. Healing, extra dash and stronger barrier are cool and all, but Hyper Crash helps out so much against Kaiser Sigma.
This game is complicated compared to X and X2 it was ahead of its time what a game never beaten it yet. from what i have seen and played in the megaman x series this looks to be one of the best ever made if not the best! used to have X2 on the Snes when i was a teen but just have X now on the SNES but there are so many ways to get the whole collection now on PS2 and PS4 and PS5!
I started with megaman x and then got X2 and X3 and X3 at the time was by far and wide my favorite of the three on the SNES. The fact that you could just use zero at the time and change into zero was f****** mind blowing for ppl. Then on top of it zero had his "beam saber" which at the time even way back then everybody wanted to have a lightsaber and play with it etc. the first two couldn't hold a candle to this one
I'm trying to 100% this game... but the false floor leading to vile isn't there. The false floor is gone. Why? Did I do something wrong? I only beat 4 mavericks, and I beat bit. (Not byte yet) what am I missing? I also beat vile in catfish level. Not ice level yet. But the false floor in the crawl fish level isn't there? Edit: I just checked, and the vile capsule in the ice stage is gone, too. 😞
You only have to beat Vile in one of the levels. Once you've beaten Vile once, he's dead. As for the false floor, once you've beaten Vile, any paths to those capsules will disappear.
As a good to great 'Mega Man' player I'm grateful for these videos, cuz I stink at all the 'Mega Man X' titles. I'm just awful at them. :) During my current playthrough I think I'm locked in by Byte who kicks my ass. I've got but five weapons, 4 heart tanks, and 2 E-tanks. Not a single armor, no chips, no armors. Can't get 'around' him to beat any more bosses, and I need one of them to get more heart tanks, etc, etc. Quite the puzzle in this title. I've check-mated myself with my boss wins & upgrade finds. Must one fight & find in a certain order?
@@tkroggy2095 Have the Arm piece so that you can charge up the Frost Shield, releasing it underwater, a block of ice will go up, you ride it up. You'll of course wanna let the block come up in the right spot. And once you get the K Armor. Just hop across the water to the right, and get the leg chip.
@@tkroggy2095 Cause yeah, when you fight the bosses in order, or at least mostly in order, you don't find yourself getting access to the Armors until you've beaten all of the Robot Masters. Since the "1st one", is in Blast Hornets stage. So yeah
It's a weird thing they did with the third game. Basically, you have to fight Vile, and beat him with Ray Splasher in one of his secret teleporters before defeating all 8 of the Mavericks. It has to be Ray Splasher, or he'll just escape. Upon beating Vile in his secret teleporter before you reach Dr. Doppler's hideout, the second Stage will still have water and the mini-boss.
Another way to get the K Ride Armor is to use the charged Frost Shield while underneath the overhang of the armor, while underwater it turns it into a big block of ice that floats to the surface and can be up-dashed from.
yes you don't. megaman x1 through x3 used a password system that tracked progression for everything except secrets, so you don't get to keep the golden armor and the z sabre if you exit the game (even if you save). that's the reason why upon restarting you always start with 2 lives and all sub-tanks empty regarless of whether you had everything full the last time you saved. a terrible oversight from Capcom to not fix this in the Legacy Collection, specially when the original megaman series had save states on their legacy collection 😔
You need all upgrades, heart tanks, sub tanks, and ride armors, be at full health when you enter the room the fifth capsule is in, and not have obtained any of the other four chips.
