I remember when I picked this stage, and laugh off of Split Mushroom presentation... then When I get to him he kicked my ass so bad that I had to quit the stage haha
I just love the ost of X4 and X5, they're so cool and catchy but also so apocaliptic sounding and they have this feeling that things are not going to end well for anyone.
First time i played this stage as a kid i thought this was how a bio labs actually looked. i looked up a bio lab facility on the internet and was disappointed. Real bio labs were boring compared to the game lol.
@@adamfrost3139 i'd love to know how they do that effect in web spider's stage theme where at 1:13 they have this howling electric sound, that i don't think is a guitar but it sounds like a keyboard mimicking one somehow.
Pretty ominous theme, perfect for his stage, especially the screeching part. First time I played it, I nearly ran to the bathroom when I heard it. By the way, I also thought that his eyes are in his stool, but it's really in his body.

i had zero fight split mushroom because he was working at a bioweapons lab and i thought i might learn more about pathogen vectors if i distributed what i looted there among the mass transit of slash beast's convoy train and storm owl's spaceport, but i guess they may have also done research into performance enhancing symbiotes, hence why x dive calls a certain orbital elevator achievement, flexible mushroom.. it might have helped the clumsy fat repliforce grenade throwers be less clumsy on slash beast's train.
Am I the only one who just thinks of the actual level when hearing this song? Everyone else is thinking of labs or mushrooms but I just think of the actual level itself
Split mushroom was a reploid scientist,and were keeping himself in the lab.but sigma came and disposed of split mushroom and the lab.he was ressuercted by split mushroom to protect the abandoned lab.
Maybe it's the perception that arthropods are "pests," although that's more a Western perception. Japan tends to find them more cute and cool. Dragonflies have pretty fast/hectic flight and spiders are all about trapping their prey, so it makes sense for those two I guess.
+CidGuerreiro1234 Magma Dragoon is pretty easy buster only, i always like to fight him first, as for the hardest boss, i think the hardest are Split Mushroom and Cyber Peacock because of that annoying missile of his.
Fungi/mushrooms are more related to animals than plants and have their own separate kingdom, so I guess all the plant mavericks still have wimpy music :p
Ehhhh there’s Axel of the Rose (love the guns and roses reference with that one) who has a kick ass theme and the coolest design of a plant based Maverick easily.
also when you take too much during that fight (without the web shot) he slams his head pretty hard on the ground and releases toxins, when i was little 've never nticed tghat since using weaknesses was the only way to efeat them with my past skill level
don't know why but this and peacock's theme are sort of depressing, i mean, this whole masterpiece of a game had a little bit of depressing stuff, it was a dark game
