LMAO reading my mind... "Super nostalgia III" I just had to buy the entire MegaMan bundle with like 19 games for sixty bucks after watching this. In other news: holy crap I remember this being SO HARD when I was a kid... There was always that one kid who was really good at it... And you get to that one boss... You know... And then the player, with utmost excitement, gladly passes over the controller in the hopes we will get father than ever before! 😂🤣👍

This is actually what I've been doing. As someone who's been into emulation for many years, I have something like six hundred and something favorited games. I usually just play a retro game here and there for 10 minutes or so before moving onto something else but this channel is helping me focus tremendously. I'm finally beating old school games because of it. I just play and master what he covers now.

Awesome, another Megaman episode! To me, the Megaman franchise has always been about the gameplay and the music equally. I own the soundtracks for all the OG MM titles, as well as, all the Megaman X soundtracks. It's funny that you mentioned the long running debate over which is better between MM2 and MM3, as some friends and I were having a debate over this recently. Though I really don't have a preference to which is better; I enjoy MM3's gameplay more, but MM2's soundtrack the most. Another great episode, thank you for your hard work.

as a child playing this in the 80s, I recall this game being a true adventure. I don't how to describe it, nor can I recreate that feeling today when trying to replay it, but boy it was amazing... I think our imagination filled in the gaps of the story and such is all I can figure.

I like the slide, but not the charging buster--it's cumbersome to always play with it in mind, holding the button for a charge or planning to. I feel like Mega Man 3 is the game-play sweet spot.

I got this for Christmas the year it came out, and I played it till my thumbs blistered. While MM2 is still my overall favorite in the series, this one sure holds its own, and is one of my favorite games of all time.

Yeah, that's a great game. There are some tricks with jumps to simplify some rooms. Plus there are those hidden icons where you make then break a brick in a specific part.

My brother and I couldn’t read the first time we played it, so we would wander around aimlessly, just trying/hoping to find Princess Gwaelin. Whenever a Magician would spawn, we thought he was a thief , lol, and we were afraid he was gonna kill us again. We left the game alone for maybe four years, and then our mother took out the guide books and map that came with the game when she bought it. It was so much simpler then. We knew what to do this time, and after a few weeks, we finally beat the game.

My strategy for the 8 Robot Masters in MM3 was always this - Big Loop first (Magnet Man, Hard Man, Top Man, Shadow Man, Spark Man) and then the little loop (Snake Man, Gemini Man, Needle Man). Sure, that meant I didn't get the Rush Jet until dead last, but honestly I was able to get by without it until the Doc Robot stages.

Mega man 3 was always my personal favorite. I think it's the DARKEST of the series. Some about the atmospheres to levels, or the revisiting of the 4 dark robot levels all being reinvented in an Erie way. Love it !

The Needle Cannon is underrated. You can aim it (a little bit), but more importantly it's one of ega man's true rapid fire weapons, and can just nail big enemies (pun intended).

Mega Man 3: Wily creates a Mega Man clone, but the real Mega Man can destroy it in one hit. Mega Man X2: Sigma creates a Zero clone, but the real Zero destroys it in one hit.

You should’ve used the ”jump on rush jet” trick; when you jump, Rush Jet doesn’t use any energy and it still follows under you

I know I'll get thumbs down from the MM2 camp, but quite frankly MM3 is the greatest in the entire franchise IMO. Robots masters, graphics, weapons, Rush, Proto Man, and quite simply the best soundtrack...

@@amso7169 MM1 was hard as hell. MM4 was good also. Had some cool concept with the hidden items and some good tracks. MM5 is pure garbage. MM6 was an attempt at redemption. Armor and jet suit were nice additions. MM7 SNES was ok. Sprites were a bit big. MM8 was crap. The rest of the retro games 9 and 10 were quite bland

I've been saying this for years now, Mega Man 3 is the best of the original 6. I take a lot of crap for this, but it is far superior than Mega Man 2. Not that Mega Man 2 is a bad game. I would rank them 3, 2, 4, 5, 6 & 1.

As a kid I played barefoot and used my big toe to press the second controller so I could use the super jump. I got really good at it.

One big reason that I enjoyed 2 and 3 over the sequels were the weapon mechanics. It was fun to experiment to see which weapons did the most damage to the enemies and bosses. Each boss had multiple weapons that worked well and some that did no damage at all. And each weapon had a varying amount of energy, unlike the later games where nearly every weapon used a single point of weapon energy. And most weapons in later games would do minimal damage to the bosses except the one weakness, which usually did like 4 points of damage. The bosses no longer had weapon immunity. Every weapon did at least a little bit of damage. They just felt dumbed down compared to the way MM2 and to a lesser extent, MM3 did it.

@@jeffb.6642 Lol. Everyone in their right mind knows it's a mandatory to use a robot master weapon to progress in the game, at several places. That goes without saying. The point is to use buster wherever it's possible to pass with the buster. This is even needless to say. Lol

My favorite of the series. :D First NES game I ever beat, too. Summer of '91. Was my mission to beat the game that summer. Made it on the final day of the summer vacation. :)

Changing “Blues” to “Protoman” was actually a good call, I think. I can see how gamers might get confused calling a red character Blues when your own character is already blue.

It would have made a metric butt tonne more sense if they had kept the Japanese name "Rockman" Where Megaman was named Rock before becoming a fighting robot. But when they changed it to Megaman they had to make it make sense

Love this game and still have my copy. I’m in Australia, but was on holiday in England when it was released and bought it over there and brought it back with me. Great play through, and I learned a few things. I never thought of using topspin on Gamma. The Snake was the weapon I ended up using.

This was the first megaman I've played as a child. Just hearing the music alone brings so many memories of my Grand and I playing and her showing me all the tricks from this cheat book we had.

Mega Man 3's one big flaw is that the game was rushed and essentially released incomplete. They had to give up before finishing the following things: -The title screen was going to have a story scene. Maybe text, maybe with pictures (like in 4, 5, and 6), but that long, complex title theme was going to have somethin to go with it. -A lot of balancing and tweaking for the stages was left out. You can kind of tell when you see some of the stuff the game pulls (like rush jet-only stages that MUST be done on the first life or you can't get enough weapon energy). -There were going to be eight Doc Robot stages, not four. A remix of each of the original stages. -Wily's castle got rushed badly. Note that the map screen you see does not correspond with stage layout for the only time in the series.

Yeah it was unfinished. And it's such a shame, as it's the best, or at least one of 2-3 best MM games. I'd really like to see the other Doc Robot stages (even tho the game would probably be too long, and even harder (as if it wasn't already hard enough). The bees in Hard Man's stage are easily avoidable. Just walk a few steps to the left and they'll disappear and not even respawn

Megaman was the game series my father bought me every Christmas except for Megaman 6 since I was on the SNES. Megaman 3 was a game I played all winter break and beat before we return to school but I always went back to it all the time. Love the series.
