Hi Dave brilliant video as usual!! Can I ask for some advice? I have a silver car and although it can get rich gloss I struggle to get the glassy like gloss I normally get when I do family cars which are black and red etc. I am going to give it a finishing polish which my machine polisher but I want that wet look which no matter what I use I struggle to get. Any tips would be great
I think in general silver cars always look really flat even when polished but the only I would recommend for that perfect finish is a clay bar then a good machine polish with a decent compound to start with. After that I've used many glazes before applying a wax which have plenty of fillers. Alternatively I like g techniq crystal serum light then follow up 48 hours later with exoV4 for that deep wet look. What products are using at the moment? I feel your pain silver cars lack that impact from a good wax
The Epic Car Show - Entertaining Detailing as we speak I am currently polishing g using menzarna 3800 finishing polish with Koch chemie F6 for scratches. Claude it if Illbilt
Sorry phone fart there. I meant to say clay bar it with bilt hamber soft clay was going g to put ez ceramic wax on it after or double speed. If I’m honest I’ve done one door and it isn’t much better than the other doors that haven’t been polished
Brilliant video Dave,at the moment I'm using mirror bright polishing wax and that's good stuff, but with this it ceramic your car,I've clay barred my car,I will have to give a go.
I used this on a client's car and detailed it again more than 6 months later. Most of the car still had decent water beading. This is one of my go-to waxes along with chemical guys butter wet wax
Thank you for this review, it was just what I was looking for. Would you recommend using a glaze first before applying this? I'm doing a compound/polish but wondered if I should glaze beforehand.
Sorry about the Strimmer, Dave...didn't realise you were filming mate! My bad, won't happen again.... (Another decent video by the way: you're on to something here...)
Glad I've found your channel. I like my car to look decent but I'm one of those people who wants relatively simple solutions that fall short of full on detailing but are above what the average person does. I've subscribed and look forward to more content.
Thanks so much Peter. My newer videos are all about helping and simplifying the car cleaning process and all videos from now on will be going in that direction 😃
i would still rather wax my car .. but it looks a good bit of kit when you are doing a car someone else and want fast but good results. i use a petrol strimmer even louder lol.
Hi Dave would this be applied before a ceramic spray , I’m thinking a ceramic spray is the last layer of protection that goes on as it seals in all the waxes and polish etc? Thanks in advance
Cool vid Dave (no pun intended). Good review Haven't really thought of Meggies - always looked too American chitzy, like a bottle of Gatoraid (whats that for a name of a drink????) But you've made me think now. 😊
I like megs so for me I'd stick with it because I been trying it more this week and love it. In a perfect world you would obviously Decon the car but as for a go to wax to maintain a shine it's perfect
@@patrickvennard838 The Beauty Of meguiars is the simplicity of their products. The ultimate compound is one of my favs. that with ceramic liquid wax is amazing. Im a massive GT Fan the maintenance shampoo is my number one for valeting
It is so... ceramic....... as a gum with orange flavor ....has orange 🍊 ... inside. Brand s should stop.doing it, either with ceramic either with graphane....either with.similar misleading labels. (I suppose as hybrid it works.bith with battery and gas?????) I am sarcastic.. I ..love your videos you do great work.keep up sir
@@epicautomotivedetailing keep up your great work and your great video's i highly support you, keep up strong....i know how difficult is and how much time and labor needs detailing and also to create great content. Take care sir much love from Greece
Another great video Dave. That Meguiars looks like some good stuff. I like the fact it doesn't stain the plastic/rubber trim. The problem for me is I've already have about five bottles of other spray waxes and sealants I've yet to use. Full credit to you also for making the video on such a hot day.
Thanks Karl. That's my problem I have so much other stuff I have to use first but I really do like the product. This took today's to do this one thanks to my neighbor 😄
Yeh it's really good to use. I think people focus so much on the polishing process they forget that a good wax is all you need to enjoy a good looking car
David, you legend. That F*-=&$@ strimmer. That Fiat's paintwork looked great anyway, that Meguiars seems impressive. And if you are impressed thats good enough for me, you are a pro detailer. Brill video. Glad you mentioned the different product results based if you have a garage, outdoors, everyday car, where you live etc. Because where you park your car and drive it actually does affect the product. Come on guys, lets help David increase his subscriber numbers. If we all got just one person through personnel recommendation, he will double his subscribers. We all know he is worth it. It would be great to compare the Garage Therapy Ceramic Sealant (£18) with the Meguairs, but the GT Ceramic sealant, does not have wax in it, as far as I know. Keep it up David, as your wife would say.😝
Thanks so much. The fact that you want to help me and the channel grow is amazing and something I'm truly grateful for. Sadly these videos don't get many shares and eventually fade out to no views. Got a few good ones that do ok.if you could help in any way I'd be well happy 😁
I used this yesterday, I first washed then polished then 2 coats of this hybrid wax. Wow this stuff is amazing! The shine and depth of colour I now have is brilliant. Will definitely buy again. Just hope it lasts a while now.
@@Hammerback0 I would say 2 months, still some beading now but lost the same shine it had, will do 1 layer over again when next washed to see how it brings up. But when first applied it was brilliant and would still buy again.
@@markpitman100u said u did 2 coats of this wax and only lasted 2 months? Ya this ceramic wax is short lived and I'm debating if I should do it or not. Think I'll clay bar , polish, normal wax, then try this ceramic coat. Tons of work to get the max shine but I think this ceramic wax is only for summer months only or rain months
Hi, what would happen if I tried to put ultimate paste wax on top of a coat of this ceramic paste? asking as I don't think the ceramic looks glossy enough in my car
I havent tried that myself and ultimate paste wax is very short term so even if you got the gloss it wouldnt last that long. Ceramic detailers are quicker and would be better to apply on top
Hi Dave, So what is the difference between ceramic wax and just wax and why should I use this ceramic wax over normal wax ? If I wanted to ceramic wax the car what do you think if I used a clay bar first but did different panels over a few days ?
This one has sio2 so the chemical element that goes into ceramic coating. It's hard to say whether there is a massive difference and I use different waxes every time so I say go for what you enjoy using
If it was a spray and you wanted durability from a single use then turtlewax ceramic spray has the edge but it does have drawbacks like the application method. If you clean your car on a regular basis and want something that gives a nice gloss and durability for a 2-3 months then Yum, Meguiars , garage therapy are all winners. My autoglym ceramic rapid spray comes out next week so i cant wait to finish testing
Hello ceramic was is an application by hand and the other one is the same a turtle wax ceramic spray. So 2 different methods. For me this one is incredible and doesn't disappoint
To be honest I think now there are few better ones out there. It's so easy to apply and offers good protection so depends on what you want from a wax. Durability or easy to use
@@mroqqq7871 fusso coat is great for durability and application. In terms of easy to apply then yum wax wins hands down above anything in my opinion. Durability is 4-6 weeks so its a regular wax but the gloss is unbelievable
It's ok. I live on a farm and the car gets a battering from the elements but it's surviving. Thing for me is the fact everytime i clean my own car (which is rare 😂) I always use an sio2 detailer spray to top it up
I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that 😂🤣. I've got a whole cupboard full of different ceramic sprays I need to film a video on. It's insane at moment
Great video. I’ve bought some today. Just out of interest, I’m new to car detailing etc. Do you need to polish the car before using this liquid wax ? Also, if I wash and polish the car on Friday but don’t have time to wax , can I wax the following night after driving to work and back or will I have to do the whole wash process again ? Thanks
Afternoon! Watched this video and had to go buy some, WOW! it’s brilliant so thanks very much for doing this review! Question, the Yum Ceramic vs this, what is the difference and which is better? Have a good one 😀
Thank you. The word ceramic is associated with sio2. So any product that tends to have sio2 in it these days is allowed to use the term Ceramic. Both will do the same job but both have different application methods. What's the purpose of it for you or for business?
@@epicautomotivedetailing just for me, I’ve seen you’re a big fan of yum but were also impressed with this product, just thinking when i run out, do I try yum or stick with this. Cheers mate
This stuff is $5 at my Wally’s right now. I just put some on my civic today. Man it doesn’t streak like my turtle wax hybrid ceramic. Think I found a new wax if it lasts long time like the turtle wax.
I had no idea videos about valeting could be so informative, slickly-produced and funny. You could probably charge some clients double if you did it shirtless too, since you look pretty fit. But anyway, the humour (if not the language...) - brilliant!
Lol thanks for that. I have pectus excavatum so probably best I keep my shirt on 😂. The majority of my videos are like this. I love a bit of humour, a bit of knowledge and then I chuck in some sensible stuff too. My ford s max disaster details I did a few months ago I had a lot of fun with. Went a bit OTT with it lol
Ha ha - fair do’s, I like your modesty. There’s enough filth of all sorts on your channel to keep a perv like me going anyway. 😉👍 (But should a bucket of water accidentally topple and get you drenched well, you know, keep filming... 😂). Honestly, I’ll stop now. Looking forward to more entertainment. 😀
Great vid Dave , real world problems with strimmer man lol. Looks like a good time saving product . I have not got the time to wax anymore . Only have a few hours a week for car stuff . Keep up the fine work mate
Thanks mate appreciate it. Yes it's great for making a car shine without the worry if powdering or bad streaking. On my test there was a tiny bit in the bonnet but nothing like the turtlewax review I did. I was impressed and to be honest when you out your hand over it you got the feel of a very slick paintwork. If you're happy to wax a car few times a year then go for it
Oh yes a million percent I love it so much it’s been such a great product happy to pay a bit more for it. I even too it up with the detailer give it a rinse and spray that on leave it for a minute or two and then rinse off it enhances it massively
Yes couldnt agree more with. user friendliness is so important these days and in fact I think it's more important than the actual finish. If a product looks amazing but it's a nightmare to apply then it's not a good product because you can never get the best out of it
Very hard to see much difference in terms of Gloss and protection. It's almost like they are bringing out so many variants of a product that does pretty much the same job when it comes to ceramic sprays, waxes etc...
Thinking to use this or chemical guys butter wet wax. Now using surf city garage barrier reef wax. Using an dual action polishing quicker and because the pad moves faster i been surprised it lifted some of embedded contaminants from the paint. Once youre done waxing use a multi purpose spray detailer to go over your work
Great looking product. I have been looking at this for my car and my customers car for a while to offer as an extra service. Great video as always enjoy watching your videos very informative. Cheers 👍
Thank you so much Simon. I really like. I know there's always going to be the haters out there for Meguairs but it's user friendly and that's something a lot of companies struggle with.
@@epicautomotivedetailing exactly Mate that's what I think. Especially if am valeting and on a tike scale this wont take long to apply and remove and gives it a good gloss and protection I between washes sounds good to me that. And like yourself I want an easy product to make my life easier and have great results
Great video. I live in California where so many of use a drive-thru car wash. If I use this product, will stay on for a bit after driving through a car wash?
Easier and glossier than Sigma or D&DSI? I actually rate the Meguiars hybrid ceramic QD... Have a test panel out the back in direct sunlight and under a tree that drips sap... 50/50 megs and D&Dsi... So far (1mth on) both still perform and bead OK... Gets washed about once or twice a week with left over GTOne from my other details... 😏
Fusso can be a pain to apply. Trick is to not apply a thick layer. If its not forget it. It will set like concrete. This megs wax is so easy to apply and buff off.
Is it recommended to do a couple coats initially? I've buffed out the paint and used this...was just wondering if there is any advantage to several coats. Would think that if first coat is good then additional coats should not stick?
I’ve been told that you don’t want to apply another coat soon after as the first coat is still doing its job so you just end up wasting the product , apply once every four months or so should be golden
Just used it for the first time today Dave (@ 21 Degrees C) and I can confirm that what you demonstrated here (I didn't machine polish, clay bar) is really accurate. As it was hot this PM and the car panel had already dried within minutes of jet washing it, I used a saturated cloth, the applied the ceramic liquid wax, then wiped it off nearly straight away with a dry cloth. This was all after the usual washing, snow foaming, etc) Looks really great now its finished and it is going to be difficult going back to using anything else!.
I think it would be good to do 2 coats of this stuff and then maintain it with Meguires Ceramic Hybrid Spray Wax after every wash... or ever other wash.
Yeah, agree that Meguiars new ceramic liquid was is easier to apply than the wet wax spray on. The buff off on Meguiars stuff has always been good. You could extend the durability by applying their new ceramic quick detailer spray over the top. and this comes in a clay pad kit for even more value. great for the average joes, but I would always polish after clay bar, due to the micro marring clay always leaves. The only problem I have with this is the cost. Meguiars are always at the top end for cost, but the up side is, as you say, all their products are pretty much idiot proof :) Good vid mate :)
So if found it for £22 on Amazon which was cheapest I had found so far so not too bad when you think how little you use. Meguiar's is such a strong solid brand never let me down
@@epicautomotivedetailing yeah 22 aint bad at all. might need to try this if I ever run out of Turtle wax hybrid Sealant (not the ceramic)/dry n shine :)
