Megyn Kelly on the Lies Amber Heard Told on the Stand, and What We KNOW is True in Johnny Depp Trial 

I cried when the verdict was read out. My son was a victim and died due to the lies and threats of his ex partner. So when they believed Johnny today, I felt relief. I felt finally the world understands men can and are victims... I dont care that they are 'celebrities', it was more the subject for me.

I’ve watched this trial everyday and I’m asking WHERE is the mountains of evidence proving Amber is the victim?!?!?!

I still don't believe he ever physically abused her. Mutual verbal abuse, yes. But she must have been something horrible to live with.

I am going to say that any abuse Johnny gave to Amber was reactive to her abuse. I watched every minute of that trial. I agree with your friends, she was willing to do whatever she could to destroy Johnny because he had the audacity to tell her he was done with the relationship. I can’t count the lies she told under oath . Why does she get away with lying under oath.

You're wrong. This has nothing to do with Celebrity. This has to do with an evil liar being stopped. And with how the media lies about what the rest of us have been watching.

I am adding this note for Megyn to read: Megyn stated that Johnny could have abused her, and she had the bruises when she went to the courts to submit a restraining order, and she in turn sent her videos of this fresh wound on May 27 to Washington Post from her cell phone. Just a bit of info, Megan, for to review this more accurately: Johnny left for overseas on May 21. She appeared in front of the courthouse on May 27 with cherry red looking bruises that looked very fresh, without any swelling to them! IF Johnny would have hit her on his last day, May 21, the bruises would have discolored already, turning purple, green, yellow. So, she lied. The Washington Post did not know that Johnny had been out of town! This makeup looked very fresh!! Those were not bruises from Johnny! Unless she chose to create the bruises herself the morning of May 27? Seems the right person won the case.

The main issue about the only Abuse that Amber can truly stick to, which is verbal abuse, is the effect of her poking the bear! She constantly started fights and even said it herself in the audios, she would go after him every time he walked away from a fight. If you willingly go out looking for trouble your eventually going to find it. Amber was never scared of Johnny, why would she mock him, why would she go after him so obsessively while he walks away?? She only did this whole I'm scared of Johnny to even things out because she knows she was the only perpetrator of the physical fights. She knew that she needed something she can look back at and say "hey I was a victim", look he spilled wine and vandalized his own home 🙄 PATHETIC attempt Amber. By the way, the whole kitchen cabinets video.. he lost his mother & had huge financial issues during those moments and this is how she supported her back then husband?? Recording him during his worst moments and then selling it to TMZ? That's very telling of how awful of a wife she was. She bought him wine while he was trying to stop drinking, she abused him physically and cut off part of his finger, she abused him mentally mocking his career, she sucked as much money as she possibly could from him(convinced him she was not a gold digger and the money would be donated) YEAH RIGHT!! GOLD DIGGER AF😂😂😂😂

It wasn't about celebrities, it was about one person lying and destroying other person's life. It is about justice, that's why the world was so captivated. The good will always prevail

Megyn, testimony isn't evidence. The only "evidence" she provided was circumstantial, and it still left out actual medical damages.

I was in a DV relationship, more than 30 years ago. It left me with a lot of issues, for example my right foot still hurts everyday. Even so, I couldn’t believe a word that Amber Heard said. Everyone who’s been in a DV relationship, knows the after math. And to have someone like Amber Heard lie about it makes everyone of us feel the pain all over again. I’m so happy for Johnny Depp, that he’s free from this now!

Not one person in JD’s life described him as being abusive, not one! I think Amber’s sister would lie for her. Also,, a neighbor of Amber’s suggested (on social media) that the bruising could be from Botox or fillers, because Amber was getting them all the time. Johnny had a drug and alcohol problem, but imo he didn’t abuse Amber.

This was not about celebrity Megyn.. this was about truth, nothing but the truth…

Megyn, I'm pleased that you've never experienced a violent, abusive relationship. However, if you had, you would see that AH never acted like a victim. Depp's lawyers made a brilliant move in asking for a public trial. Personally, it is regrettable that their private lives and epically awful marriage were made public, but that is a direct consequence of her op-ed in the Post. Her lies have done so much damage to both their careers. I hope there is success in Johnny's future and that she gets everything she deserves.

I’ve been physical and mentally abused. I can 💯 % say on my heart she has never been abused 1. You wouldn’t give a knife to an abuser. You wouldn’t taunt your partner. Laughing shouting, calling him. Following him, texting him. Never ever would an abused person do this. She’s evil and has ruined a lot of people without evidence coming forward. She’s not been abused. He was angry with her and took this out on furniture. She’d drive Mother Teresa crazy

The therapist took Amber at her word just like the judge in the UK case. That's why she said there was "mutual abuse," which is a bogus term that means they were both casually mean to one another. A relationship that considers giving a large knife inscribed with "hasta la muerte" as an appropriate gift cannot be measured on the same scale as most relationships. Johnny's restraint in the face of Amber's incessant abuse is commendable. He didn't win because he's rich. He won because the facts were on his side. She lost because she's a pathological liar, proven hoaxer, and master manipulator with insane anger issues. She would've won if he actually abused her. Abuse does not have a high burden of proof. She wouldn't let it go unnoticed if she actually suffered abuse from Johnny instead of from her giant ego. Her lies and the timing of them reveal that the only reason the idea was suggested he was abusive is that she didn't get the share of his fortune that she had hoped to from the beginning of their relationship. She used the #metoo movement to project her abusive behavior onto Johnny & we fell for it for years. Amber is beyond lucky that Waldman's statements about the 911 calls weren't proven to be completely true, and that the jury did the numbers to weigh what generous but fair damages she would be charged for "Gone Girl"-ing Johnny. Amber gets no benefit of the doubt in this case.

He was so violent that even when he catches her filming him, she is not scared, manages to keep the iPad, walks away unafraid, and is not the slightest bit injured while chuckling and smirking.

I disagree Megyn. At first, I thought no one should be awarded for their bad/despicable behaviors. But after listening to the testimonies from this trial. I believe Amber falsely accused Johnny of sexual and physical abuse. This is all about justice. Amber should be held accountable for her false accusations. This has nothing to do with Johnnys celebrity status. PERID!

I appreciate Megan’s statement to the jury about the legal ramifications for lying under oath about one thing and lying under oath about everything. However, I am GREATLY disgusted that with the mountains of evidence that she was toxic and abusive and provoked him in all forms, she can still raise the expectation that if he touched her even in that climate, he’s at fault for being rich & famous & powerful. That seems, perhaps, like weaponizing his success against him motivated by your own subconscious envy of his achievements. Of course when you have more, you have more to lose. Of course you will defend yourself with what you have. But to say beneath it all, men, specifically Depp, should live in a gaslighting and abusive climate without her being held responsible, but if he reacts then he’s to blame for the entire climate and his success should be taken away is enough. There comes a point where we have to evaluate our own envy and see how it damages others and puts them on unrealistic pedestals.

I'm sorry Megyn, but when you are mentally, physically, emotionally abused by a partner, the few times that you yourself lash out after being pushed over the edge is not abuse too, it's protective instincts & behaviour that has been forced upon you by your abuser.

I am not obsessed with celebrity. I am obsessed with truth and justice. I am obsessed with removing the ability for one person to ruin the career and life of another with malicious allegations. It is egregious to assume it's all for show and those interested are vapid star struck parties.

Being a 69 years old woman, who was victim of domestic violence, I feel offended by AH lies and defamations against Johnny Deep. By doing that she only demonstrated to be and infamous person who uses a situation that hurts the lives of many women around the world… very disrespectful and cold blooded. Problem is it is hard to believe anything Amber says because she has been caught out in too many lies. And what their marital therapist testified to - isn't that also based on what Amber told her? And it is unfair to characterise a victim's (JD) coping reactions (eg venting murderous thoughts, smashing cupboards) to endless, clinging screaming and unpredictable violence from his abuser (AH) as abuse. I speak as an abuse victim myself.

As a woman that was in an abusive relationship I would have never spoke to him the way she speaks to Johnny because I knew another blow would come after it.

As a lawyer Megyn, I’m very surprised to hear your opinion on this case. Where was the forensic evidence to support the horrendous beatings she alleged occurred on a regular basis throughout all the years of their relationship and marriage? She certainly wasn’t shy about taking pictures, videos and recordings. Also she was not at all scared of him and in fact, constantly taunted him…quite the antithesis of a DA/SA victim.

Anyone who's ever had a bruise, a black eye, a swollen nose or a split lip can take one look at the "day after" photos of Ambers flawless face and know she is lying. Makeup help and so does ice, but c'mon. She flat out lied to the jury's faces and they made her pay for it.

Let us not forget that Johnny put up with this for 6 years! This all began when Johnny wanted a divorce. The couple therapist met mostly with Amber. A few times with Johnny.

Any time a woman lies about abuse, she makes it harder on other women trying to be believed when abuse has genuinely occurred. I don't think there's anyone who can honestly say they've done more to hurt other women in this regard than Amber Heard.

I was appalled about what allegedly happened to Amber but after watching the trial I did not believe anything she said and believed that she was a horrible abuser to Johnny. She thought she could get away with beating a man and no one would believe Johnny. Liars like Amber have destroyed so many lives and have falsely imprisoned thousands of innocent men. This must change.

I noticed how she said “just cause Johnny doesn’t have a history of abuse doesn’t mean he can’t be later in life”… Yet left out how Amber was arrested for physically abusing a partner before Johnny. Oh and was abusive to her sister and her staff too. I believe on AUDIO she said “I just can’t help myself when I get mad” when Johnny said he couldn’t stay if it was gunna keep being physical and she pleaded him not to end things but well she just can’t help herself when she’s mad so no promises on not getting physical with him!

Johnny has such star power that Disney, Warner bros and the public had no trouble cancelling him, ending his career in a second, while she still works! No one believed he could possibly win this case, everything was against him, yet she has been proved innocent. You have missed a massive part of the therapist's testimony that made it questionable that he abused her.

You forgot to mention that a few things that could help Depp´s case weren´t allow in the court. 1- Amber was arrested for domestic abuse of her previous partner. Josh Drew Statement where he says that Amber was cheating on Depp with Cara, Elon and Franco.Something you have wrong, is that the therapist never said she saw him hitting her. she stated that Amber told her that he was abusive toward her.

Girl… Johnny has never had a claim of abuse against him… she has! I am so tired of people defending this woman… she wanted to ruin this man and pushed him to the point of breaking… if she hadn’t been such an ego driven wench he wouldn’t have been able to sue her… but no she had to lodge false allegations against him as an abuser… there are men that are mentally and physically abused by the women in their lives. This case is about men getting their voice back and it’s about time. Men are victims too!

As a former victim of, mental, emotional, and physical abuse....its hard enough to get away from that life ,but its even harder to go to the police, she has made a mockery of any form of abuse .

She admitted in the tapes the only reason she accused him of DV was to keep the penthouses she and her friends lived in.

The evidence speaks for itself. Johnny doesn’t have the world in the palm of his hands. He simply put the evidence out there for everyone to see and she didn’t have any evidence.

I’m glad this case is so public. I never agreed with “believe all women”. That said, women (and men) should be heard and given their day in court. After being heard they’re statements must be investigated. Any statements made must be corroborated. People shouldn’t be allowed to just make up false statements without any consequences.

I’m glad that the case was televised so that we could draw our own conclusions.

Thank god this trial was televised otherwise the media would have twisted the trial into an anti Depp campaign.

Anyone who listened to the audio played in the court, where she laughed and mocked him knows that he was NOT abusing or even violent to her.

As a woman and a survivor of sexual abuse I'm thrilled for Johnny. This day was victorious for all of us and I don't view this verdict as a setback for future victims at all. It's a day we celebrate justice. I found this trial extremely traumatic at times (mainly when Amber was on the stand) and not because I believed her testimony. I found it distressing because I didn't. We all heard the audio recordings. She wasn't afraid of him, she goaded, manipulated, berated and bullied him.

Are we just going to ignore all of the audio recordings of amber admitting to physically abusing him. I believe they both verbally abused each other but johnny never punched her with rings on his fingers, it was proven in audio that he walked away from her. She admitted to starting physical fights and hitting him. She even beats her sister. Regardless she was lying and I don't believe anything she says.

If Amber didn’t lie so many times, she might be more believable

Speak for yourself Megyn Kelly! Just because you and your friends watched the Depp v. Heard Trial due to its salaciousness doesn’t mean that’s why everyone else did. And reading the audience comments here confirm that you’re the only one who watched the trial due to “celebrity obsession.” For your information, people like me, a regular US Citizen, watched the aforesaid Trial because: 1) I was fascinated by the US Court System and frankly I believe every US Citizen should have a better understanding of it as well. For that matter, I reckon all court cases should be televised; 2) I was curious if the jury in court shared the views of the court of public opinion; 3) I wondered how justice will be served. Both men and women can be victims of abuse!Both men and women can be the abuser! STOP with the ignorant comments on how Depp v. Heard Trial had setback women’s movement; in contrast, I believe this Trial has propelled our society towards the right direction. >>>The biggest take away from this Trial is that main stream media cannot be trusted. They didn’t abuse each other. I know exactly how this relationship went because it was like I was looking at my life while watching the trial. Whitney lied. TWO other witnesses said he never hit Whitney on the stairs, they were there and even Amber said he was about to push her. She never said he hit her. Media needs to stop. He won. Her other witnesses heard fighting. HEARD. I can be the abuser and come out crying or screaming for help. Trust me. I’ve seen it with my own eyes what narcissist people can do.

I never follow celebrity, but with this case I was completely fascinated by the mind of an evil woman, I was engrossed by observing her mannerisms and webs of lies.. for me it had nothing to do with celebrity and more to do with watching an obvious narcissistic psychopath lie on the stand, and of course justice.

He won because he had evidence. She had nothing. The therapist was quoting Amber, the tapes have Heard being way nastier to him then her, she was violent he was not, she doctored evidence and her witnesses were not credible. She got caught in lie after lie. Ambers wasn’t abused, she was the abuser. The victim pushing back does not equal abuse.

I Don't think this was about celebrity I think this was about Justice. In our culture today we see very few people held accountable. We are a nation hungry for Justice.

Their therapist also admitted that all the alleged abuse she knew of came from AH. She said AH told her of abuse and showed a pic of a small bruise. She never saw her bruised etc. Watch the entire thing

As a survivor of DV she made it harder on us by her untruths! Most abused women do not taunt their abusers we are terrified of them. She is absolutely bonkers and needs some serious mental help. I am so angry that she did this. Men can and are abused every day and they deserve their day in court as well. As a woman I never thought I would see this, but here we are. She just needs to go away now and leave us alone she has done enough damage. She caused so many triggers in people who have survived this just by her tape recordings alone. Hearing her in the tapes reminded me of the monster I once ran from. God speed Mr. Depp! Try to get to know your next love interest if you can ever trust one again.

My fascination with this trial was about how beautiful, sexual, manipulative women can get away with just about anything from target to target, but not when you put them on the stand in front of millions of jurors. I was awestruck by Amber's pathological lies - told from the perspective of a narcissistic B actress reading through a screenplay, and not from a victim of DV (and certainly not SV). I was so afraid the jury wasn't seeing what we were seeing, and I couldn't wait to learn the verdict. I was so heartened to see that the jurors saw through Amber's lies, and that they held her accountable for toying with the wrong man.

Thank you for your honest efforts to disclose Amber. Her lies were the worst part of this whole issue. Johnny was not with holding anything from this mess. Amber made it all up it was nothing to do with money fighting back at Amber. Its about a money hungry female who was an abuser. She needs to pay for her evil deeds. It does not take any thing special to realize the horrors Amber attempted to create and it all fell apart. Thank God.

The difference in her demeanor in that one tape, how quickly she goes from meek, scared and soft voiced to confident, snide and cussing, is blaring proof that she’s a manipulator who’s hoax was premeditated. It’s obvious once you hear the other tapes taken in the days and weeks before, and hear that Johnny was over it and she knew a split was coming. And so for the first time she takes actual video, not just audio and pictures, and tries to get him to take his anger about his mother’s death and money loss out on her. She later tried to tell him on the audio of a phone call that the only reason she lied about the abuse and got a TRO was because she was told she would be homeless in 21 days, even though he’d repeatedly told her she could stay as long as she needed to. It’s harder to know for sure why she took those embarrassing pictures and audio of him and what, if anything she planned to do with them, but it’s perfectly clear with that tape and her cowering act. Though I hear everyone saying it, it’s not true that she always recorded him without his knowledge. It was something their councilor told them to do as a learning tool.

It's remarkable that the jury deliberated for less than 2 days after a trial that lasted 6 weeks. This speaks volumes about the strength of Johnny's case against Amber Heard.

Johnnie's so called abuse and being "triggered" was self-defense. You can't abuse someone and then accuse them of abuse when they defend themselves.

Megyn, HE was canceled...he left her alone. She chose to capitalize on her "victim" narrative. He didn't go after her with high powered attorneys until she went after him with a credible newspaper, revered organization, and support from a cause that was in the height of its fruition. She manipulated, lied, gaslighted and was living in her "glory" until evidence became public. She was not abused..if anything he defended himself against her maniacal behavior. Trying to discredit the situation because they are famous, rich and live nasty lives is not the way to go. Most of us were never fans of Johnny Depp. Most of us saw the evidence for what it was and the woman claiming it for what she was. We cannot go through life believing women when the narrative contradicts them. Women, like men, are capable of horrific things. We need to feel comfortable acknowledging that fact.

The therapist said Amber told her that Johnny hit her, when she was asked if Johnny ever admitted to her that he hit Amber and the therapist said NO. This was only claimed by Amber Heard to the therapist not from Johnny to the therapist at all. Also if a woman is always abusing you physically and you have a substance abuse problem one way or the other the frustration might lead you into reacting in ways that look abusive even if its not intentional. There is something called reactive abusive

As a victim, I never taunted, I never hit back, I never instigated. Instead, I cowered and walked on eggshells to avoid any confrontation or even a small infraction that would bring his wrath. What I did have was mounds of medical documentation. But that was the 1970's and no one questioned his explanations of my "clumsiness". No one asked " Do you feel safe at home?"

I'm sorry, you misrepresented someone saying "abuse" on Johnny's side to mean "violence". You left Fox, so please be more careful about "representing facts" now. Remember, you are a lawyer.

The hours upon hours of audio tapes reveal exactly who the victim was, and it sure as hell wasn't Amber.

As a person who worked hard on getting better after I was diagnosed with BPD, AH is the WORST depiction of the illness. I'm sure she had money 💰 and access to professional help. She preferred to play vitimc and never take accountability for her mistakes...how shameful.

How can you even say he was abusive, when in ever msg and every audio she complained because he would leave whenever the fights started, or hide in bathrooms and bedrooms to escape her disgusting behaviour. Pushing somebody or restraining somebody is not accuse, and verbal abuse didn't even chin into it, every audio we heard was her screaming and nothing of then him reacting to that, she's the abusive 1 and a disgusting liar

Never rated Johnny and never watched any of his movies until I got to know the real person behind the name from this trial. Now I intend to pull up a watch list. Thanks Amber.

This should shine a light on how domestic violence isn’t always black and white. Hopefully Amber will reflect on HER part in that toxic relationship. She over-exaggerated abuse and used it to boost her own publicity.

Amber lied so much , she's cruel. And she put her sister up to lying for her . They both testified to babies and dogs being put in microwaves. That's just a sick phrase they made up between them . Amber wanted sympathy

I'll say this again. There was a trial moment when Amber was asked whether she feared Johnny's reaction to....something...I think it was to being filmed (I'm not totally sure), and her reply was "Why would I be?" It was a major slip, I thought at the time. She had been trying to make a case for being scared for her life, then apparently admitted she had no reason at all to fear Johnny. I'm not sure why, but this quote was not even mentioned in the closing statements, and doesn't seem to have been picked up by any commentators. Or did I hallucinate this? (Does anyone know if there is a transcript available of Heard's testimony and cross-examination?)

He is not pretending anything.. the man came back to fight for his honor. She should have thought before trying to play all her lies and like she said “who is going to believe you Jhonny” Justice was served! And not all women say the truth

Where would we be without Megyn Kelly to lecture us on the seduction of celebrity culture. Please don’t talk down to us, Megyn. We sided with Depp because he told the truth and Amber Heard lied.

The problem with Amber's evidence is that it did not match her testimony. Her story changed on several points, and her witnesses' statements did not match on many of their points as well. I think when Jonny went through detox it triggered her. Detox is fucking hard. The story of her refusing him his meds is so scarry.

The therapist also said she only saw them together 1 time and every time Johnny tried to speak Amber cut him off as she speaks rapid fire and he talks slowly, she made claims of abuse and Johnny never got a chance to confirm or deny any of it. Every other appointment was only with Amber.

A jury of her peers disagree with you Megan and they didn't see all of the evidence that we have. You were wrong. Own it.

I watched this entire trial and I'm appalled at megyn's accusations that he abused her and there is evidence?

No it’s about liars being found out- an abuse victim getting justice. This case was decided on the evidence. Not celebrity not power or like ability- the facts and evidence.

The therapist said abuse, verbal abuse after he is subjected to her venomous spewing of her vile words. When he mentioned her punching him, and he said he knows what it feels like to be punched, she never said so do I. She just continued to rant on and on.

Disagree that there were evidence of JD abusing AH physically. Destroying furniture isn't physical abuse - did you see the video amber heard herself took? He clearly posed no threat to her as he went about destroying some kitchen cabinets. She did nor look scared AT ALL

This wasn't about gender, nor me too, it was about manipulative people who are not only liars but gaslighting (twisting the truth around by malicious intent to profit from the fake "reality") This was about giving victims a voice who suffered from false allegations towards them by the real abuser. When the verdict came out it wasn't only Jonny's victory but also mine as I was falsely accused and when proven that it was a lie I couldn't denounced the witch.

This wasn't a great take. "He destroyed property around her..." "He raised his voice at her..." And that's evidence of abuse? I think we're watering down what abuse means, if those are two of your big examples.

No he didn’t,I truely believe that,he apologised profusely for the accidental head butt Was he out of control with drinking drugs? Yes,he was clean sober until she came into his life. Did she encourage him to drink you bet she did! She guzzles wine by the barrel full. Was a coke addict,was on mood stabilisers antidepressants and every other pill. She almost destroyed him Almost He survived childhood abuse He’s also survived her She’s cancelled No one will dare touch her She’s too controversial How can she speak to victims of abuse when we hear her abuse for hours in tape? Can she speak of truth? I can't believe that anyone who watched Amber Heard give evidence in this court case will still try to defend her. But some are choosing to stick their reputations on the line for that woman or even worse, sit on the fence and argue that they were both abusive.

This has nothing to do with #MeToo - not ONE woman said “me too” with regard to Johnny Depp - so #MeToo is alive and well, sorry Megyn.

this is not about just celebrities and their popolularity and status because that was not the judge and the jury looked for. this is about the truth and justice.

i don’t know if they pointed this out, but their therapist said that amber saw her alone a lot, and when johnny was there she always talked over him. so how could he defend himself when he wasn’t there most of the time to say AH is lying? she is a therapist and isn’t going to disagree with AH.

She had not one piece of evidence that she was ever abused by Johnny.

The video which we now know that Amber was the one who sent it to TMZ actually backfired on her, because it showed Depp at his intoxicated worst, & yet he seemed uninterested in her presence. His worst version actually showed how he was never the aggressor, or the one to initiate a physical fight...& actually proved how he ran away from her, with Amber chasing after him as he so consistently claimed!

I believe Johnny merely reacted to her taunts, physical attacks and lies. He didn't have a choice, and as we saw.. he would leave. Amber Heard is a pathological liar. She's disgusting.
