Hello Everyone!
If you have been watching my videos, you know I completely gave up on Variable ND filters long time ago. I could never enjoy using a screw on VND. Color cast, X pattern, necessity to use filter adapters kept me not using one for almost all my recent videos.
Meike was kind enough to send me their Adapter with a drop-in variable ND filter. This is the first time I am playing with the adapter in real life. Since I did not have any EF lenses they also sent me the Meike 85mm 1.8. So every shot you see after the intro was shot with that combo.
Weather was kind of crazy. Never had great light. It started with the dens fog, cleared up a little bit. We had some sunlight for 15 mins and it was all dark again. I decided to reflect the mood of the day with a darker tune.
I gotta say I am thinking about selling all my RF lenses and use this adapter with EF lenses. It is so much easier to change exposure. I was also able to use my polarizer which is impossible with a screw on VND. I think this is as close as I can get to having internal ND. I didn't see any drastic color change. No X pattern. I am not sure about the exact range but I think it was over 9 stops. I can use this for pretty much all scenarios I usually film.
Overall, great price, built quality for me. I am checking the EF lens deals as I am uploading this video :)
This adapter and filter can make my life much more easier...
Ayways, thanks for watching!
Hope you enjoy it!
Best,
Baris
