The way Calvin talks about Joel Smith is how so many Gospel Drummers feel about Calvin. I first heard him on Ricky Dillard's No Limit album. That album has so many classic Calvin chops from the intro of the first song Holy Place and all throughout the album. I think the one song that took him to that next level of being recognized and changing the Gospel Drumming game is when he played on the live version of Rain On Us by John P. Kee. From there he kept raising the bar in his own way.
Calvin Rodgers contribution to gospel music that changed gospel drumming forever was "Rain on us" by John P. Kee. Also check out those early Ricky Dillard albums that Calvin played on as well.
So true goat....The once that amplifies other folks' perceived sin, have at most an evil, manipulative, and hypocritical heart...what they not doing is the most sinful thing in their eyes but gosh if we could see their hearts ...let leave it at that...I love your authenticity...and what u do does not make u evil...🙏🙏❤️❤️
MEINL Cymbals well long story very short...I was searching for innovation and sound. I personally believe after much studying the different options that MEINL offers are far superior and more exciting than what I’ve heard in the other camps. I’m diving in very soon and can’t wait to get my MEINL set up.
ALSO...... ALSO.... HE LEFT OUT A KEY CHICARGO DRUMMER PRODUCER..... LEGEND KEVIN BRUNSEN.... FROM MILTON BRUNSEN.... HOW IS IT POSSIBLE.... ANYWAY... 🤔🤔😷😷
All I know is I thought a lot of his sound and since he plays gospel I figured he wouldn't have a problem telling me how he tunes his drums and miked them in his Pearl video. I've messaged everywhere facebook youtube twitter and he ignores all of them I bought my masters kit out of his recommendations and pearl responded be he would not. It's not too Christian to treat someone like that. People make a name for themselves and they become self absorbed and won't share their success tools or tuning and miking secrets this is a evil business to be in period. I've considered seeking endorsements down the road but I will be first to say another musician won't help you reach goals they don't want someone becoming as successful or more successful than they are. I play blues but I am ordained minister who looked up and even was inspired by Calvin but now I am ashamed to admit that after how I've been ignored by every attempt to communicate with him as well as not approving my friends request even. Music is a highly competitive business and an evil one that even makes gospel artists act Unchristainlike
Yeah like u have to remember that he the busiest gospel drummer working which mean he's working like consistent so u have to keep in mind he has alot on his plate not only as a drummer but as a producer/songwriter too.
Grow up. Calvin gets thousands of messages a DAY and you expect him to pick yours out of everyone else's? That's like getting mad at a good restaurant because they seated someone who came before you. Seriously, grow up and do your own thing. You've got the Masters, now adjust them the way YOU want; Calvin's not gonna be there to do it for you.
FOR SURE HES BUSY.... HE WONT ANSWER U.... IF U WATCHED WHAT HE SAID.... STUDY.... STUDY... PRACTICE... FIND UR SOUND LEARN UR SOUND TUNE UR DRUMS WORK ON URSELF.... AS HE DID.... FUNNY... 😥😥😥😥😪😪😪😷😷😷
