Mel has fucked up… but everybody does… especially those who laid judgment on him in the upper echelons of Hollywood. People that play along with the game don’t get exposed for when they fuck up. And even if there had been no threat to his baby, slapping her hardly makes him a “mentalled out abusive guy” like the original comment claimed.

Many actors actors are shy off camera. Alfred Hitchcock, the British director ( The Birds) used to say that actors are dumb. The great actors are not dumb. Tom Hanks. Liam Neeson. Mel Gibson.Gregory Peck. Gary Cooper. Michael Caine. Humphrey Bogart. Keanu Reeves. Some very shy. I don't admire the ones who refuse autographs.
