(Not so) fun fact: the dress that the dead crybaby is wearing is a dress that Melanie wore in a photo shoot she did with her no ex bf Oliver tree. Fans thought Melanie was happy in the relationship but after it was over they revealed that it was pretty toxic bc Oliver had an awful personality, also some fans theorized that some songs in portals contain references to him

It’s actually ten of swords in the death music video. If you zoom in you can count 10 swords. Some are stacked over the other. 10 of swords also means Painful endings, deep wounds, betrayal, loss, crisis. Which contributes to the message of rebirth and healing yourself from wounds, betrayal and loss.

KRAVEN, I LOVE YOUR REACTIONS. also... that big ribcage is actually real. the rest of the set had CGI additions like the skull but the ribcage was done in a practical way. the little island is real as well but the cave around it is cgi. loved the video, hope you're having a great time reacting to all of these incredible artistic videos that melanie is able to bring up to life.

Also can I just say in that one scene after like the song Strawberry Shortcake in the movie that Melanie Martinez made the outfit that she had on and the makeup looks kind of similar to the way the portal looks like there wasn't like the you know like the facial Prosthetics that she wears when she's looking like portal but like her eyebrows were hidden and she just in general kind of looked like portals in that scene so maybe this other Persona of melodies was thought of before she even came out with the album portals

5:50 I honestly think that isn’t true. Mainly because of the fact Kelly wasn’t even present at the very end of K-12 when the school just- poofs into thin air. As well as she isn’t seen to have these “abilities” Crybaby and the others possess. So I highly doubt that it would be possible.

I think you can still call this character as Crybaby despite now having a different form cause Melanie seemed to still refer the character as Crybaby and in the supposed castlist, the character is also referred as Crybaby. And given that this also belongs in the trilogy album, it makes sense. Can't wait for the movie next year (presumeably) cause we might finally get an answer as to if Crybaby is merged with Angelita, or how she died, and how everything even happened.

The skeleton she was dancing on was a practical effect. I think remember seeing a "Behind the Scenes" video about that specific part on tiktok. Also, I think that the idea of the Skeleton is to represent Cry Baby's old body after it got decomposed. Loved the video!🫶
