This is how I am trying to get on my board. I think riding like this feeling the Gs and flex throughout the turn is so much more satisfying than jibbing on/off a feature.

There's something instinctively satisfying about angular acceleration... From the first time we're pushed on a swing set, that feeling that the rope might break and we'd be launched uncontrollably makes it exciting and a little dangerous. Whether you're riding a rollercoaster, turning bikes at speed, water skiing or skating bowls, turning (moving in arcs) is exhilarating and soul satisfying. Carving snowboards is perhaps the ultimate experience of angular acceleration. Powered by your own body, by gravity and your ability to resist that force and control your descent by turning uphill instead of braking and pushing snow. It's just an incredible feeling; it's addictive. And when it gets good, you just want to do it faster with more g-force; bigger sidecuts, stiffer boards, steeper, narrower runs... Get some. That Donek of yours looks plenty capable @SiddyDaddy. Look for a "how to carve" video coming soon, just waiting for the sun to come out so we can film the last bits. This is Revelstoke after all... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3qqgXYXnCqc.html

Nice turns. I was hoping for some switch riding or at least some side hits or something.

This is the kind of deep, effortless carving to which I aspire! Can you do this in most conditions? (Right now I am trying to carve in north eastern icy crud and chunder.)

That's my gripe too. Conditions are rarely good enough to hold a deep carve around here and I live too far to get out for first tracks. We got a dumping of snow couple weeks ago and I was excited. By the time I got out on the hill the whole place was basically moguls.

Nice James!!! Realizing toe side really takes time to perfect and that it involves your knees , lead shoulder and hips . What is your advice in terms of % of weight& pressure you place on leading knee while initiating your turn and how much is distributed back between the 2 knees while completing the toe side turn? Cheers

What's the specs on this board?
@cherrycarves
@cherrycarves Год назад
That's a Jasey-Jay Anderson TCX 171, T4 titanal, carbon, 15m sidecut radius. Very stiff.
@cherrycarves
@cherrycarves Год назад
JJA makes the only T4 softboot carving boards on the planet. No, you probably can't get one...
@cherrycarves
@cherrycarves Год назад
My mistake, this one is actually the Coiler Contra 169 with a 12m sidecut, medium stiff. T3 titanal and Bruce Varsava's secret magical construction. You probably can't get one of these either...

Thanks for the reply. What is the ww, and which nose shape does this board have? Looks like it carves amazingly well.
