I definitely got some early As I Lay Dying vibes from this. This is my favorite style of metalcore and I'd love to hear a whole album in this style. You really nailed it!
@JoeArana91 mine too bud.. still to this day my top 10 bands each year on Spotify are all bands like this. As I lay dying, kse, in flames, all that remains etc
this and the one from like a year ago too (the video was just called "metalcore"). I love both so much I wish they'd get released on streaming platforms🥲
What an absolute masterpiece!!! The finest writing I've ever heard on the channel. I'm glad this was instrumental as it speaks for itself. Well done Nik!!!
Woke up to a picture that Nik took with my little brother last night at the Underoath/The Ghost Inside show.... Thanks for being so cool and accommodating Nik.
I joined a band recently that is more on the melodic metalcore side and i needed a refresh on what true to the roots it was, first video I saw was Nik's. I knew then, this guy would nail it. Seeing you effortlessly shredding like that just pushes me to be a better musician. This is such a 00's-esque sound..🔥
Can we get a how to sound like counterparts video, Nik? Those videos always double as songwriting technique videos and are very useful to amateur songwriters like me and probably many others.
There is no one out here in the RU-vid space that does such a variety of original metal instrumentals as well as you 🔥💯🤘 everything is so fucking tight
Greatness all around! I swear @ 2:34 it switched to an early 2000's Underoath feel in a split second for a few seconds. Brought back memories 😢, for almost 10 seconds of that clean beautiful sound, I remembered some of my greatest times in my life & then snapped back, sad at the fact that I'll be 35 & will never have that part of me back, but I will cherish what I have & what's to come. Truly, excellent work on this Nik.
It’s genius and THAT CHORUS WITH PIANO THO ,I’d love to hear lyrics . But I gotta say I’m not a fan of the drum kit, I noticed you’re using the old drum kit, it’s mostly the snare I don’t like, also the guitar tone, it’s not bad or anything but it always sounds like it’s tuned down and with too much distortion and with low presence. But again, this is gold
Love your melodic/classic metalcore tunes as always Nik. With not many bands keeping this sound going, we need you to keep it alive. This, your video titled metalcore, your song 578, and the PS5 song are what I'm talking about. Keep it up!
those blast beats during the climax were so fucking good. this song built itself up so incredibly well, such amazing songwriting here. a really mature piece of music, THIS is why I love metalcore
Holy shit this almost made me cry, I low key teared up. Who know maybe ill start writing again. This had the same vibe of the original stuff I used to make years ago in guitar pro. Thank you Nik
Now you just need a phenomenal modern metalcore vocalist to really take this to the next level. Everyone is saying KSE vibes and I think that would work; don't get me wrong. But I think it's time to let the newer generation of amazing vocalists shine and make their own place in history
Beautiful! You could have put a solo right after the clean interlude but instead you built even more tension and then perfectly release it with that amazing solo. Just great
See... THIS is melodic. I hate how so many people put death metal and just ever non melodic type of metal into "melodic metalcore" playlists. You da best Nik.
I feel like this was inspired by In Flames, I really dig it. Actually a lot of scandinavian metal bands dabble in this vibe. Soilwork, Opeth, etc... really cool stuff!!
