THIS is my favorite version of this song, I have been in love with it since Dawson's Creek aired it in the season 1 finale. I even bought her cd. When Rascal Flatts re released this I was like "OMG..This is my DC song!!" But this one out beats theirs everytime.
I missed DC when I was younger - just started it on Netflix. Had to run over here. I first heard this from Country Comfort and am forever grateful. Their version captured my heart, but this version does ring a bit differently as well.
I totally agree with you. My favourite song since I fell in love with it because of Dawson's Creek season 1 when Dawson is looking for Joey and he finds her in the cupboard 😂😭 THE BEST VERSION EVER ❤️🔥
Heard this from Dawson's Creek tv show, almost a decade ago. I was fascinated by this. One of the best love song we can offer to the one we loved and to the one who created love within us, our Lord!
I will always remember this song as "the one" from Dawson's Creek. worked perfectly for Dawson and Joey in the end of the first season, but is magical for Dawson and Percy!
This song describes how the process of getting over a past relationship can eventually lead to a better love. The lost loves are like stars, which point their way to the one who is truly best. These stars direct you down a road that was blessed by God, who was the one that lead you to the love. This song was originally recorded by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band on their 1994 album Acoustic. The first version to be released as a single came out in 1998 by the Country singer Melodie Crittenden under the title "Broken Road." "I got married to an amazing man at the age of 34. It isn't that I didn't want to settle down before that, I just hadn't met 'the one.' It seems society kind of puts a stigma on those that are single and thirty-something or forty-something. Let me tell you, don't listen to everyone else. God's timing is perfect! He has a plan for each and everyone of us. 'Bless the Broken Road' talks about all the different roads one goes down to find their true love. It could also be about how you met your best friend or how you found the Lord. When I would get lonely and frustrated, waiting on my husband to come along, I always tried to remind myself of one very important thing. God is in control! He's always been there and always will be. I am so thankful I handed God the reigns because, with Him, I knew I'd go down the right path."
"gods timing" what a fucking joke. Im not waiting forever for something that will never happen. I want a virgin girl, ill never get one and since I'm used up myself there's no point in holding onto hope for a love that doesn't exist and will never happen.
I fell in love with this when I saw it on Dawson's Creek. I bought her cd just for this song way back when. Still have it! I love Rascal Flatts, but when I heard them singing it all I could think is that they stole it from her. I know they have to pay for it and all that, but it's sooooo much better by Melodie.
My mom asked me to sing this at her wedding... well she said Rascal Flatts, but this version I think is better (and in my range lol) love this song... thanks for the post!
Bless The Broken Road I set out on a narrow way, many years ago Hoping I would find true love along the broken road But I got lost a time or two Wiped my brow and kept pushing through I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you Every long lost dream led me to where you are Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars Pointing me on my way into your loving arms This much I know is true That God blessed the broken road That led me straight to you Yes He did I think about the years I spent, just passing through I'd like to have the time I lost, and give it back to you But you just smile and take my hand You've been there, you understand It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true Every long lost dream led me to where you are Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars Pointing me on my way into your loving arms This much I know is true That God blessed the broken road That led me straight to you But now I'm just rolling home into my lover's arms This much I know is true That God blessed the broken road That led me straight to you That God blessed the broken road That led me straight to you Ultima modifica Miley_Lovato Dom, 24/04/2016 - 15:36 traduzione in Italiano BENEDICI LA STRADA SCONNESSA Ho preso una strada stretta, diversi anni fa sperando che avrei trovato il vero amore lungo la strada sconnessa ma mi sono perso una o due volte mi sono asciugato la fronte e sono andato avanti non riuscivo a vedere come ogni segno mi indicava, diritto, te ogni lungo sogno perduto mi conduce dove sei tu gli altri che mi spezzarono il cuore erano come stelle polari che mi indicavano il cammino fino tra le tue braccia amorevoli Tutto ciò che so è che Dio ha benedetto la strada sconnessa che mi ha condotto dritto da te sì, l'ha benedetta Ripenso agli anni che ho trascorso, giusto passandoci attraverso mi piacerebbe avere il tempo che ho perso e donartelo indietro ma tu sorridi e prendi la mia mano tu eri lì, e capisci fa ttto parte di un progetto più grande che si sta realizzando ogni lungo sogno perduto mi conduce dove sei tu gli altri che mi spezzarono il cuore erano come stelle polari che mi indicavano il cammino fino tra le tue braccia amorevoli Tutto ciò che so è che Dio ha benedetto la strada sconnessa che mi ha condotto dritto a te Ma proprio ora sto tornando a casa, tra le braccia del mio amato tutto ciò che so è che Dio ha benedetto la strada sconnessa che mi ha condotto dritto da te è che Dio ha benedetto la strada sconnessa che mi ha condotto dritto da te.
This song makes me bawl every time and I'm not even a huge country music fan...this version is my favorite. I just keep listening to it over & over; it speaks to me. Does anyone know if there is orchestral arrangement sheet music for this song?
Thank you thank you thank you for posting this! As far as I am concerned this is the ONLY version of "Broken Road"... I burned ALL of my Rascal Flatts CD's, when I heard them cover it!
Ugh!!! I wanted this song in our wedding so bad but it didn't work out!I didn't know who this was and I'm not even sure if I knew the song title:( I would've wanted this version,Rascal Flatts version wasn't around then(still would've wanted this one even tho I love RF).
This woman was recommended to me and she is gerat - why was there only 1 cd out ???Crazy .Others I recently discovered who did not make it big are Tammy Graham, Lisa Stewart , Lydia Miller , Rissi Palmer and a little more well known was Ronna Reeves and Joy Lynn White . These ladies all have more talent than Faith Hill, Shania, etc in my opinion .
doogleandalix I love Rissi Palmer's music as well. I'm shocked she did not hit it big either. I'm hoping she will try to release more Country Music Songs sometime in the near future and hit it HUGE the second time around. :)
@MUSICROX83 This came out just before CMT became useless. I saw it fairly often back in '98, but since then CMT has become too focused on top 20 songs and the artists that the record companies tell us we should be listening to. They used to play TONS of artists that never got radio play.
I have been trying to find this version of this song on Itunes and i have not been able to find it. I've been finding weird versions. Can anyone help me?!!
This song made it's debut on a episode of Dawson's Creek. I fell inlove with it immediately and bought the tape then couldn't find it. RF's version was disappointing and although I love RF, he sounds like Kermit the frog when he sings.
@jmsweat....actually this is not the original recording....this is the second version, and rascal flatts is the third version....the original version was done by its songwriter, marcus hummon, in 1995....i have that version on my ipod
No, this is not the original version, but it much more closely resembles the original recording compared to Rascal Flatt's cover. Unfortunately, most people think RF is the original because of its popularity and commercial success. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band released the original recording back in 1994. One of the co-writers, Jeff Hanna, is a member of this band. Another co-writer, Marcus Hummon, released his own version a year later.
@nickz777 I knew that! :P But I am NOT mean... I loved, loved, LOVED RF before their take on this song came out. Gary took what should be a simple love song about the blessing of finding your soulmate and turned it into a overprocessed oversung karaoke song.
@ivojnob Download the free Real Player program and with it you'd be able to rip the audio of this video and convert into an mp3....it's pretty user friendly.
