I can't believe how often this video gets content blocked. I guess this 17 year old video must just be destroying Janne Da Arc's record label's profit.
I'm guessing he meant as far as basic shit goes, maybe nothing on the lines as what the experts do. If that was the case, yes, the way the combos link is remarkably easy.
+obiyofi I know that, I own Guilty Gear and UNIEL. Geez, I just mixed up their names when writing the comment. No need to insult me for that, their names are similar. At least I didn't say Jack-I or Dizzy.
Oh man, I remember the React times when damage was so high in the game, and you otg characters off the ground into another air combo. Good times, good times.
anyone know where i can get the torrent for this game? and if i need a certain emulator or something? i remember first seeing characters from Melty Blood in a MUGEN video.. then i saw the arcade machine at a biliards place.. after i saw my friend play it so well (not as good as this though) i fell in love with the game and have been tryin to look for it since. anyone mind helping me out?
SF3S>ALL 2D Fighters. Inb4hurrMeltyBloodisthebest. Its good no doubt, But in NO way better then the classic fighters. If you think SF is a simple fighter, Go against actual challenging people instead of easy mode AI. tl;dr Stop being fanboys, Play what you play, Respect others opinions or your just as bad as console war fanboys.
Its an H-game sure, but a "game" which is treated more like an amazing long novel with different endings that has less than 5% hentai doesn't qualify totally as an H-game. Sides, who cares if its an H-game, sex and aggression attracts the human mind and keeps it interesting. The novel simply makes use of that, of course, making it not good for minors to view.
actually, fighting games satisfies anger (or hate) from within. the more you play, the less you get violent. GTA is just too realistic and does not satisfy anger, it just gives ideas of violence and people tend to imitate it, i think.
This is just the ReAct verson... these combos are outdated now but you can still make them if you want some "exhibition".... but there may people troll you because director cutted combos are non stylish than MBAC or MBAA...
from what ive seen, becasue ive seen it before, is that that girl with the purple dress and the one with the swords in her hand are froman anime that ive seen. its just after i stopped watching it, i forgot its name.

Melty Blood is actually a fighter sequel to an Hentai Game called 'Tsukihime'. The anime is based off of this Hentai Game. It would make sense if this was partially the reason for it not coming to the US.
@xXshinzoXx anime [games]. it was implied. go to school, and stop thinking the world is "trolling" you when they say something that offends you. I'M SO SORRY THAT YOUR LIFE IS SO OPPRESSED =*(
Yeah. Throwing out reversals all the time and a greater amound of button mashing is awesome. You probably think Virtua Figher is the worst fighter ever. Please tell me I'm wrong.
@Raylord2309 ahhhhm, I know how they change the characters but Sion has an "etherlite ground" in this video but in the latest patch of MBRA, the etherlite ground is gone...
excellent video, i don't like too much combo videos cause it is a lot of FALSE fighting skills, but i see you really know how to play a real combat. I really liked it...
These anime fighting games look all the same... but somehow it has a charm on me :P But even so, I still hate 100-Combo figthing games... Good video & song, though.
No offense to the melty blood fans, but I think that if this game focused a little bit more on combat and less on anime, it would be as great as street fighter.
Melty Blood won the Players Choice poll for the Evo 2010 tournament, and BlazBlue was dropped from the lineup in favor of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on the PlayStation 3.
It's for the PS2 but you either need a modded PS2 or a Japanese one cause there is no English version of this game (I could be mistaken). I so wanna get this.
How to do Akiha's grab special? I have the ORIGINAL Melty blood for the PC, so if you can the tell me the directions in the original controls, I'd appreciate it.
@MissAnimeFreak513 Nero is no more freaky then Venom. Kouma has totally different fighting mechanics from Ryu. The only thing they have in common is perhaps hair style. Neko Arc, Neko Chaos, and Roa aren't in Re-act as playable characters. I will give you Nanaya, but to classify him with "Person with hair in face and hands in pocket"... Is kinda like saying Obama's some black guy. Anyways my point is stereotyping is useless. A point none care about, apparently.
He does. The line is something like: まちがったマスターベーション - Machigatta masutaabeeshon. Machigatta is past tense of machigai, which means mistake, so it would mean he made a mistake, or mistook. So the whole line is something like: Mistaken/Mistook/Wrong Masturbation. When looking at it, taken out of context it sounds plain weird, but oh well, it's song lyrics, they aren't well-known to make sense.
If you really don't think that Street Fighter 2 influenced Melty Blood and tons of other fighters, just think of one thing: 236 a.k.a. quarter circle forward a.k.a. down/down+forward/forward Before SF2, no fighting game ever even thought of combining motions with buttons to make a special attack. Now, EVERY fighting game does it. What has Melty Blood done to influence every other fighter in the genre?
Dude, SF2 is the opposite of cult. Cult is something that never really got big. SF2 was fucking huge. SF2 introduced the world to combos. It was the first game to feature a string of moves and canceling the animation of one move into another. Granted, the string was only 2 - 3 moves long (Although really good players could string more than 7 moves together), but still, before SF2 there were no combos. The point is, EVERY fighting game is influenced by SF2. You can't say that about MB.
I know SF2 is a cult game, but, you're saying this isn't good cause of combo....but if you're a combo fighting game player like me, you'll love them...I prefer Melty Blood, arcana heart, guilty gear, tatsunoko vs. capcom or even smash bros MELEE(which is not really a combo game...but it's still fast....and got Zelda ^^) over street fighter and mortal kombat because they have a faster gameplay and cool looking fight and that's what I enjoy. (I'm leaving 3D fighting out of this)
I'm not saying that Melty Blood is full of "Death Combos," I'm just saying that combos in general kind of kill fighting games. Believe me, this is from someone who used to play Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Tekken 5 (Broken Steve says "Hi"; DR fixed it) religiously. Both those games have characters with either death combos and/or ridiculous combos that turned the game into "Who can land one or 2 combos first." If all you're doing is Hadouken spamming in SF, your opponent sucks.
In order: -Tsukihime (Visual Novel) -Kagetsu Tohya (Tsukihime sequel, Visual Novel) -Melty Blood (fighting game based on Tsukihime, sequel to*) It the same people that did Fate/Stay Night Visual Novel. Tsukihime anime ("Shingetsutan Tsukihime") is based on the Tsukihime Visual Novel and Melty Blood is in a way a sequel to Tsukihime Visual Novel (in the story mode of Melty Blood, it half Visual Novel, half fighting game). PS: The Tsukihime anime "Shingetsutan Tsukihime" is bad.
Isn't practice mode in fighting games there for you to learn how to pull off combos though? So in affect why is this person a 'NOOB!' for demonstrating some potential combos??? :\... Anyway this game looks sick as hell. I am one for flashy fighting games (My personal fav is Marvel vs Capcom 2 even though I know it isn't that deep); but this looks like it balances the flash and the substance really nicely :D... thanks for the video.
Try improving your skills so you can actually perform these moves, it's not as nearly as easy as it looks on videos. And in melty blood your opponent can break through these combos and even backfires at you, it's all in speed and skill here when it comes to PvP. It took me some weeks just to learn how to chain longer attacks at my first game of these types. Yet it differs from every character. These games also haves awsome pace at attacking, so it makes them perfect at speedplay that I love.
I'm not home either :P Won't be there in a long time, because I just moved into a new city (college). Test fight like that will have to wait, but I really like playing as Riesbyfe and Michael (long-haired dude looks like me). Also, I still like Guilty Gear more because of reeeeally hard combos on some characters. I hope we'll play sometimes in the future :)
@mrbucket1337 What did you expected, it has boobs and japanese stereotypes. Its not a bad game per see. Im not a fan of these kind of games, I just play GG eventually, but what I hate about this kind of games is that all of them looks the same, and all of them seem to have infinite combos, and I just fucking hate that.
naw dude im not a grammar nazi.. but i really did misunderstand i had to reared i see my error now.. and yeah i use Rachel as well...not in the new one tho i suck with her in that one..and i never really played meltyblood(couple of times thats it) i thought it was ok but i just couldnt read anything lol.
OK...NEOW I have a lil' more respect for this "melty blood" game thingy. This vid iz totaly win and even if it's nyot BlazBlue...d@mnit this vid shows that Melty-watsit pwns too! ...but wat's its background? I need storyplot! I need info' 'bout dese characters and wtf is actually going on in the game!
To everyone here screaming SF sucks, just recognize one things: Without Street Fighter 2, NONE of these fighters would exist. I highly doubt that there'd be any 2D/3D fighters (at least any good fighters) if SF2 didn't get it so right more than 20 years ago. There's a reason why SF2 is still being played competitively and every fighter owes something to SF2.
heu Peetar......have you ever played the game? -_- Combo like this are nearly impossible to do in a real versus fight + the more hit you do, the lover the damage gets, so you can't kill someone in one combo... you still have to think, it's just that it look cooler and play faster then a ***** hadoken spaming -_-
Fighting games to me are all about out smarting your opponent and always thinking 3 or 4 moves ahead. Flashy combos, while cool as hell to look at, kind of kill the whole point of the fighting game. Make one mistake and your opponent gets a death combo. Instead of playing Chess, you're playing "Oh man I hope I don't get launched or else I'm dead."
Amazing vid. 1. GG and MB are different games and bringing up a conversation by saying "cough THIS GAME SUX cough" and "GG is better" is how idiots who cant put up a decent conversation or dont have an open mind talk. 2. Tsukihime is not, NOT an H game. Less than 1% of the game has sex. 3. the original game is Tsukihime and it is 100x better than any anime.
if this is grabage then what would you call to blazblue? if this trash why it won in people choice in evo2010 instead of blazblue ....MBAA release from ps2 and blazblue release from ps3, so your blazblue is grabage cos it came out in the ps3 but the gameplay is not too much to see
@XxArkhamxAsylumxX I love Guilty Gear, but I can't get behind Blaz Blue. I hate the controls, I hate that one instant special button, and the characters feel a bit uninspired compared to GG. I played Melty Blood Act Cadenza, it's pretty good. Maybe it's more balanced than this one.
4 things: One the guy changed the damage settings to make the one hit combos. Two this is a old version of melty blood for PC the newest is Actress Again for PS2. Three a normal video of Actress Again watch?v=Tw1lpE3V-bo . Last the tires are pretty even there will always be tires but there pretty even.
I'm trying to make it so that it will register 2 different controllers but whenever I play it to test the controllers, both controllers act as one leaving the other slot to be filled by the keyboard. How do I make it so that 1 controller is pad 1 and the other is pad 2?
so question, i've always been wondering what anime these characters are from other then Tsukihime, i've herd its also fate/stay night but i see no characters from that anime. i would like to add that this game is kick ass but not the best 2d, GG AC and maybe arcana heart are higher on my favs :P
and I never said SF2 was "useless", I was just saying that I didn't like it, but I know it's the "basic" of fighting game that's what I meant...using a wrong word("cult" -_-) i'm just angry to those who come here saying, this is bad, SF2 is the best. "Then don't watch this video!"
I totally agree with you dragonknight99...Meltyblood is fast and fun... next to street fighter which got...well a slow and boring gameplay + ugly characters(well... that's only my taste though...but I hate them) and at least melty blood(and tsukihime) got an interesting story....
I'm not going to "tell" you. Instead, I'm going to ask you to use your eyes, and look about 5 posts down, at the post by Dajago. I realize that it might take effort, but the name of the song, as well as the singer, is in that post, so you might want to take a look.
Anyway, nice chains, even tho I'm mainly playing with Vermilion Akiha, and she's only character I can combo with at melty blood. I'll give this video a 5v5 and also a notice that my previous comment was directed to Zolrak666 but somehow it didn't count as reply :)
there is also a multiplayer for Melty Blood Act Cadenza and Actress Again.Well,AA has a horrible network code,it seems, but Act Cadenza i haven't tried yet.How about a test fight?Im currently on campus, will be at home in a week, where 100 MB internet is))
Yeah, well I tried it. I like Tsukihime's story and It's next on list when i finish reading current visual novel. Compared to Guilty Gear, moves in MB are simple, but It's simple for both sides, so victory will be harder. Satisfied with this game. ^^
I hate to say this but most of the combos can be broken. Not to mention once the hit count reaches certain levels it's just a waste of magic circuits to use the 'C' variants of your specials... especially if you can cancel other moves.
well in the end I would vote this because there is a much more developed and intimate storyline behind all of this fighting shenanigans. Not saying Blazblue is garbage or anything ( Am eagerly awaiting Continuum Shift) but this game is a timeless classic.
unfortunately no, the only way to play it is if you either have a japanese/modded ps2 or download the last game called Melty Blood Act Cadenza and wait for the new one to come out on PC next year. There are tons of sites to find it on pc.
I don't know man, Killer 7 you had girl raped and killed, and the decapitated head was thrown in front of the father. I think reason this game didn't come was because it was bound to be a niche market. Lots of people have no idea what Tsukihime is.
OF COURSE,and it's easier to play(simple combos are quite doable even if you aren't very good at fightings),but it's not dumbed down,if you want to do something like in this video-it's actually becomes not that easy =)
School girl/boy = Akiha/Satsuki/Shiki Chamber Maid = Kohaku/Hisui Vampire = Almost everyone Something weird and freaky = Robot Hisui? Person with hair in face and hands in pockets = ??? Ryu Clone = ??? Help me out here D:
@evelfresh It's import only. Weird to say, since the anime tsukihime (same thing more or less) did get a state side release. Sucks that it isn't the other way around. Best to check online shops for imports.
What in the blue earth is wrong with noobs comparing this (still awesome) game to Blazblue?! Seriously, I've been looking at a whole bunch of MB vids and most of them had a comment about this being a Blazblue rip-off!!
whats sad is that after you get good at doing combos like this its hard not to go for them and then your friends become angry because you just did 2 perfect rounds in a row with a character you don't ever use
add to the fact he also turned off Safe Fall mode for the dummy... which technically makes 90% of the combos undoable xD I'll give props to the fact the combos are insane but in the end its just a fancy show xD
No you are Wrong. The Orginal Tsukihime was a H-Game. And in Fact, Melty Blood in't a Cappy Mugen Game. It is a Official Spin Off Figthing Game. Many good non Hentai Anime/Game are Based on Hentai Games.
guilty gear, blaz blue... KOf? really kof? that game sucks balls. comparing it to gg or bb or melty blood, kof sucks balls. one i played gg i said: "ill never touch a kof in my life again".
Actualy he "CAN"... He "MAY" not, but nothing is physicaly stopping someone from holding his fingers and pressing the keys, nor is something stopping him. He can. Don't go Grammar nazi in my presence kthx.
@LoyalSunset It is focused more on skill then most other fighters .. The only one I can think of which is a more ''skillful'' (And overall better one) fighter is Fate/Unlimited codes...
@VYP3R22 Is that how you decide what a good fighting game is? Just see if it's in EVO. BlazBlue is not a GGX copy, they are similar yes, because the same company made them both.
I hope they have Melty Blood at PersaCon this year. I want to try it again. I was pwnt when I played it my first year. Maybe I'll pick a character that is good for beginners this time? XD
If I had to compare chars bewtwen those 2 animes, I would rather quit... TYPE-MOON Re-Uses aloot of chars... Just like CLAMP (but CLAMP, normaly only changes the names, haha)
mhmm well the other characters that u don't see in the tsukhime anime is from "Kagetsu Tohya" and from the game melty blood. IT does have a story in it, not just all fighting.
Then why are you here, go watch super impressive SF2 video, I like this game, and not only the fighting video game and I don't f***ing care about SF2. I'm tired of arguing with fanboys.
guys this game rocks, what we need to do send it here to USA and Puerto Rico because I love tsukihime the Anime is cool in spanish latino and japanese I havent seen it in english
