I started using the bottom rack of the oven also---my wife asked why and I told her that's what MeMe does :) I have made your Pound Cake several times and its always a winner---it is now my go to recipe for Pound Cake...thanks to your family for sharing :)
THIS brought back a nice memory. Family member years ago made this it was delicious. She was an RN stateside during WW2 and could cook anything. We miss her even now.❤
Miss Diane, I just love your recipes, your beautiful sense of humour and of course your “Shine for Jesus”. I also love your daughter K.K. being a part of the filming. Enjoy the day/evening and God bless you and your loved ones🤗
MeMe, I'm sure that is delicious. My mother's recipe -- which I've made many times -- is similar, but first, there's no cooking sherry; you add Parmesan and some lemon juice to the "sauce"; and you top the dish with buttered corn flake crumbs. (In some big groceries, you can actually find Kellogg's corn flake crumbs.) I've actually made my mother's Chicken Divan for a Christmas meal -- I love it that much.
That story about the broccoli!!😂 I was rolling! You all have some funny ones! Oh KayKay I know at the time you were so embarrassed. Now the family can laugh about it! You all are a hoot!
I love putting Durkee Fried Onions or make an italian breading, parmesan and garlicky butter topping!! It just takes it to a different level. I've also used tuna instead of chicken. This recipe can be tweaked in so many ways, I love it!!
My grandmother used to say when she was baking a cake that by using your spatula it gave you an extra piece of cake. I think of her when ever you reach for a spatula.
My momma made hers like yours but she didn't add the sherry, she added a cup of sour cream and cream of chicken instead of mushroom and added cheese to the sauce. A tip if you're going to freeze it, mix everything together so there are no air pockets for freezer burn to occur. I'll have to try your version miss meme
Me too!! I've also doubled the sauce and put a layer of al dente rotini pasta into the casserole. On busy days, I've poured a couple of jarred Alfredo sauces or cheese soup mixed with mushroom soup and heavy cream. Like I said in the comments, this recipe is so versatile!!
Yes, Meme! That looks so good. I love recipes like this, that you can do just about anything you want to it and it would still be good! I have done something similar, over a bed of leftover (or planned leftover) rice, a bit of sour cream in the sauce mix also, and then drizzle a melted stick of butter over the top before the cheese. Just about anything would be good! Easy and delish! Don't forget, folks, you can always use the meat from a grocery store rotisserie chicken, and if you do your own chicken breasts -- it depends on how big they are. Like she said, they can be so big these days! I think they are saving and selling the normal sized ones to the fast food restaurants cause that seems to be all they sell anymore!
Ladies? Truth be known? If Meme REALLY DIDN'T add the butter and Sour Cream, and thought it was that good -- maybe it doesn't need it. I just thought it would, so I put it in. WORTH A TRY!
This is a recipe I have seen around a lot but have never made. This is one of those recipes where I will wait for somebody else to make first before I make up my mind about making it myself. MeMe, I made a couple more of yours, one is the layered salad. Very good, but I will wait until the occasion comes up to make it for a crowd because it makes quite a bit. Second, your strawberry jelly recipe. I have not tried it yet because you need to wait awhile before opening up the jars so I haven't completed the process yet. I do want to say that it is a very easy recipe to make. Can't wait to open a jar for a taste and then do some shining for Jesus when I pass some of these jars out.❤❤
Have to have curry and a secret to this dish is to squeeze a half of a lemon in the sauce….I also put rice in mine and two cans of cream of mushroom soup as rice is so easily absorbed..great dish💗💗
Meme you make my heart smile with each and every post. I hope I meet you someday. My vacation home is in Hilton Head so I might bumb into you. We like to have breakfast at Harold’s sometimes when we aren’t cooking your recipes. Shine for Jesus
Hi Meme! I just received your cookbook today and love it🥰 I am a new viewer and love your videos. They are so genuine. I also just ordered your first cookbook today. So I will have both. Take care. Love and blessings from Hawaii ❤️🥰🙏❤️
Just love your cooking video's. I also want to say that I really love your different tops, the one your wearing today I just love the color and pattern. Thanks and take care, Karen from Canada.
That looks delightful! 🥰 I might go for California mix myself as I'm not a huge broccoli fan, but I will eat it. (KK, I might have let the trustee keep it!!) 😉😅
This is a wonderful recipe, so delicious! Miss MeMe, you tell the funniest stories, poor Kay Kay, her broccoli escapee went flying into the plate of the trustee. 😂 I believe your next book should be MeMe’s Memoirs, I bet it best a best seller. ❤
This looks really good MeMe 😋...i have heard of Chicken Divan before , but have never made it , will be making this soon for hubby and I 😊 , and will go check out your friends page on how she makes her own cream of mushroom soup. thk you for sharing this info with us , love watching you in the kitchen , and have made several of your great recipes 😋❤ .
Hi MeMe. I had not thought about chicken divan for ages. What a tasty treat that will be to fix again soon. You look pretty in your top. Hugs. Hi KayKay. 😊❤ Nancy from Indianapolis .
This looks delicious! Chicken Divan is one dish I’ve never made, but think I’ll try it now that I see how easy it is. Love your story about Kay-Kay and the Trustees dinner reminds me when our daughter was a freshman at Texas A&M and was invited to the President’s Dinner where he had several former students, large donors to A&M, were invited to dinner and students were hosts at each table. One of the donors asked our daughter where she was from and when she told him he informed her his “little company” had a new plant there. When he told her his little company was Blue Bell Ice Cream she said her mouth flew open and she couldn’t say a word!!! She overcame it and by the time she graduated had met many dignitaries and several Presidents! Love your channel! You not only have such wonderful recipes but such good stories, as well!!! 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
MeMe, you are absolutely adorable!!! I wish you were my neighbor!!!!! I bought your books and cannot wait to start making “your” meals for our family!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Hi MeMe. I have been watching for awhile and enjoy your content. Question: Where do you get your cute tops from? I like tops with longer sleeves that come to the elbow like yours, but I having problems finding them. Thank you.😊👋
I make that same dish with raw chicken breast and thigh meat cut up . Mix it all together and bake 350 for 45 minuets to an hour , 165 degrees. I also add two cans of mushrooms , stems and pieces. It's called " Chicken Delight "
I put garlic powder,, onion powder, lemon pepper, worchesteshire in my sauce then if 9x13 pan i use one to two boxes of stovetop stuffing and spread it across the top then put the foil on for about 30 min take it off cook little longer just to give the stuffing time to get a little crunch on top then it is sooooo nummy...i also use a couple different cheeses not just one....sometimes i add different things like sour cream cream cheese etc to make it a little different
