This is great. I know I’ve asked about schedule but this question is pertaining to how you go about your day with multi aged children. Do you start homeschool with them all at the same time and you go around helping? Or do they start at different times?
My youngest 2 (not including baby) are 7&10 and they need me a LOT, so I spend much of the day facilitating their work. My oldest 3 are almost 100% independent, so they’re doing almost everything on their own- I have had to figure out which things work best for them. My 13 year old is great with concrete schedules (like the AO grid) or textbooks that he can do written narrations for. He does not do well with oak meadow materials because they have more complex directions. So I do have to do ELA with him still occasionally to make sure things are being done properly, but I spend most of my time with the youngest 2. When my oldest 3 were younger, I did science and history with all 3 of them in the mornings and they had limited independent work. I start introducing independent work more so in 4th/5th and expect a lot of it in 6th plus grades. I also outsource math once they hit middle school & start them with a brave writer middle school writing class. Does this help?! What age are your students?
@@ddchomeschool thanks! This is helpful I have a 7 and a 10 year old we have mostly done Waldorf which is very specific to the age as you know but now at these ages (as you know the journey comes with their developmental phases and changes so that’s where I am) I am looking to include other things as well because my 10 year old needs lots of repetition and lots of help. It’s always hard figuring out who to do first as the oldest looses her attention if I don’t start with her first
@@ddchomeschool we’ve been homeschool for all their lives at this point, we’ve been pretty unschool/Waldorf but looking to again go more electic to meet certain goals
I have the hardest time implementing Waldorf, always have. The only solution I r found is to do some of each of their main lessons. We did classes with Lotus & Ivy this past year (charter funded) and that was extremely helpful, but I realize it’s not necessarily an option due to cost! Plus it’s on the computer 😂
@@ddchomeschool yes! We did lotus and Ivy too! But yes on the computer and still needed to help my oldest a lot but it wasn’t coming naturally from as if I were to do it on my own. Still a lovely program. Aaahhh glad to know it isn’t just me. I have tried many ways and it works for a while and now I just feel like we need to add more. Looking forward to more videos. I don’t know too much about Charlotte mason have to do some reading.
