I had been in Fire/Rescue since I was 16 (EMS first, since I could not do Fire until 18). After September 11, 2001, I joined the Army. I went immediately into the rapid deployment cycle). I met up with my unit initially and it was during Phantom Fury. I admit, the FIRST time I was about to leave the wire, I felt fear. I then made peace with God. I KNEW I was going to die, and so it was easy after that. 2 decades later here I am being old and decrepit. You lose that fear though. Then it is just about you and your battle buddies.
