My friends and I used to quote the "men of our word" speech all the time. Especially me. And we did the hand-slap thing too. We loved Jack. :) I own no rights to anything in this video.
@@mathblaster1897 That it was never impossible to get off the island but very much improbable for him to escape that island over and over again. The probability should have been 1 in million chances which it was the first time. Him being able to do it over and over again lowers the probability significantly.
@@ronarmendariz1776 He's basically how players should be playing their chaotic neutral characters in all good parties. Manipulating everyone to his own benefit, but ultimately benefiting the good guys as well, more often than not.
Barbossa knows Jack better than anyone else in that cave. He was Jack's first mate after all, and there was also the possibility that when Davy Jones captured Jack and Jack struck a deal with Jones to be captain of the Black Pearl, Barbossa must've been there as well.
Barbossa's reaction to Jack's return and the 'So we're all men of our word really, except for Elizabeth, who is in fact a woman.' line (including the face Jack makes after that) are some of my favorite lines in this movie.
0:43 "It's not possible...." I LOVE Barbossa's reaction, After leaving Jack on that island for dead...TWICE and just as your about to lift the curse...there he is interrupting haha
He must have heard the many insane rumors of Jack's escape. From allegedly conjuring up sea-creatures to using his insane wits to having long backhair. These stories were so insane, he wouldn't believe them. But after escaping twice in less than two days, he must have thought maybe some of it was true.
I miss this jack. This was back when he had a bit of genius lurking behind his silliness, he had a hidden pain that would slip through the cracks every so often, and he wasn’t a caricature of himself.
Too true. POTC 1-3 were absolutely phenomenal. The tri-protagonist of will, jack, and Elizabeth worked so well. Especially since jack was such always out for himself but also cared for them. And you can still see those small slivers of “real” jack who comes out. “People aren’t cargo, mate.” should’ve never been left out of At World’s End. In On Stranger Tides, there was definitely an attempt for Johnny to carry the franchise but that didn’t realistically work. And by the time Dead Men came about, Amber just completely threw Johnny off his mojo, and it felt too forced to recreate the trio of comedic protagonist agin.
I love all the POTC Films but it’s very known or considered among the fans and critics that say what you what about 4th & 5th ones but the original the 3 Movie Trilogy was great and amazing.
Dang Jack always got a way with words lmao you can see Barbosa desperately trying not to let Jack's words get to him but he succumbed. Also lol when Jack tapped the pirate's hand off his shoulder XD
I love that look on Barbossa's face just before he asks why he shouldn't cut Will's throat. It screams "I know I'm going to regret asking this, but I just have to......" Also note how terrified the pirates are at the mention of the HMS Dauntless. They can't die, not at all, and yet the mere mention of that ship scares them. It's the reason why the Dauntless remains my favourite POTC ship.
It's the fact that if they killed turner, their curse would be broken, making them mortal. And since they would be mortal, they likely would not survive going up against a man of war
It's not like it's the mention of that particular name, it's the idea that they're just about to turn themselves back to normal with a navy ship parked outside
@@iprobablyforgotsomethingJack be like "Cheer up, pal. So she's with another man, big deal. She only agreed for the engagement to save your life. You got her heart, mate."
@@milutinstankovic4638 I guess we have to remember that to a pirate who would happily steal, cheat and weasel-word his way around things even with good friends, a paltry thing like a marriage vow doesn't seem like any real barrier to pursuing one's lady-love. So, from his pov, what's Will worried about anyway, eh? xD
I love the pure bewilderment from Barbossa, as far as he knows Jack had just escaped from a second marooning in record time and has come back to torment him XD
the Look Hector has when Jack tells him not to kill Will just yet....Priceless! the face you make when you KNOW you'll regret asking for the bad news or the harsh fact...THere is no one better for Jack Sparrow than Johnny Depp..NO WAY anyone can do the character better than he did. NO way can they replace him like they did for Grindelwald
Any only fools fan that think jack sparrow Is just the pirate version of del boy. Just a saying slater said to del boy that he could talk himself out of a room with no doors. And Jack pretty much does that several times a day lol.
There was no guarantee a little blood would break the spell since Will never took the cursed gold, his father did. He only has half his father's genes.
@@SunlightGwyn Also, they said they could have used Bootstrap Bill's blood if they hadn't thrown him into the ocean. But wasn't he cursed just like them? If yes, then his blood wouldn't have helped.
I was the 14,000th viewer. That's neat. Also when Captain Barbossa says, "Shut up!" to Jack Sparrow, it reminds me of when Woody says, "Shut up! Just shut up, you idiot!" to Buzz Lightyear in the first Toy Story movie. It's really neat to see subtle Disney movie references in The Pirate of the Caribbean movies.
It trips me out because bootstrap bill was technically still part of the curse and tied to the cannon. Then when everyone got the curse removed since he was in the ocean he died.
0:30 Am I seeing it wrong, or is the pirate in the foreground here an amputee? It doesn't call a ton of attention to it, but then again they also had a guy with a peg leg in Jack's old crew who you barely actually see EDIT: lmao based on the shot at 0:44 he might actually be the same guy as the one with the peg leg
