I'll tell you one thing the Brits do far better than the US...Camera work. The US camera operators have the terrible tendency in events like this to NOT show the entire field with the main shot. It's even worse watching football (soccer). European camera men, and producers better understand that to appreciate what's happening on the field, viewers need to see the options the players have, who is moving well off the ball, etc. Having a few cameras focused onto a small area for detail emphasis is fine, but closeups should be used sparingly, not as the majority of what viewers see.

@EugeniaLoli
@EugeniaLoli 3 года назад
Shakari is only 1.55m too, and Fraser-Pryce only 1.52m. Yes, these are women, but most women competitors are all taller than 1.65m. And yet, these two are fastest in the world right now. Not that being tall doesn't help, it's both about step speed and step size (stride). Shakari and Laird have step speed but not step size. Fraser-Pryce kind of has both, but she's also the shortest of all. Fanbulleh has stride and speed but only after he's fully upright. If he fixes that, he will be the best of all worlds, in terms of technique/size/ etc. I know I mix a lot here, but my point is: no athlete is perfect, so if one athlete is perfect in one of these things, they have chance to take over others, and if they get best in all sides of technique, then they could get world records.

Yep, and Mathew is not great at 100 meters yet, he had never run the 100 meters until his senior year, he was a 400 and 200 meter athlete. The 100 meter event is where he needs the most work, he is a bit of a slow starter, not just off the blocks, but getting off the first 10 yards. Mathews best event is the 200 meter he finished 2nd behind Joseph Fahnbulleh who is a senior. Your comment that age means NOTHING IS BIZZARE. By all experts he is still doing well as a sophomore. It’s hard for the Boling fan base to face the truth with alternate reality being ushered in so heavily in the American media. No matter how many times he gets washed by more talented athletes, his hype team will spin something. The person that beat him is older. Then he gets thrashed by someone his age or younger, it’s the coach’s fault. He gets thrashed again, he beat him (them) in the past. He gets his ass handed to him again. He is tired. He is young. He will rise again. He will walk on water. Then the final heavily wind aided comment. Y’all are racist for saying he is overhyped.😂 Folks, with sight, let’s leave the hype machine in the mechanic shop where it belongs. Let’s start to pay attention to and celebrate the real talent out there. Laird, Fanhbulleh, Maswangani, and Erriyon Knighton. Add more brothas to the list.

But do well enough to secure a middle lane assignment and have a field tow to ensure a maximum; maximized race. Loads of work and ability went into winning a championship in lane 8, when the two faster runners were 2 lanes away inside of him. Micah start could have easily dragged laird finish abilities to a sub 10. O well next up Olympic trials, were he's gotta be even more sharp, but he will make the team. No less than on the relay.
