Men's & Women's Fragrances Turning 30 in 2022

Chloe Narcisse was my first fragrance love.

Interesting video. I did the math and my all time favorite is 53 years old. I wonder how many of the newer fragrances will last as long?

Hello Tara, I was a teenager watering the fragrance department of our local high end department store sniffing perfume. It makes me feel so old when you call these fragrance historical (and yet so many things are compared to these... It's like the 'renaissance period' of the perfume industry where there was free reign on materials and an interested market of people who could afford to purchase the fragrances. Allergies weren't as prevalent or at least talked about. The nineties were great times! Angel was so powerful nothing else could be noticed in the fragrance department. Many of these fragrances I didn't smell. I wouldn't have considered putting my nose on masculine fragrances back then. I am sure sales people would have given a glare or two. My mom was a one bottle at a time kind of lady. I wear Femme Du Bois now, but it wouldn't have appealed to me in those youthful years of my life. This made me feel a touch nostalgic. - Jenn

This was a year I was obsessed with magazines because they always had a ton of new fragrances to smell.

What a wonderful trip back to the 90's and my long love affair with L'eau D'issey!I bought my first bottle at Dillard's and another from Sephora in Las Vegas when Sephora first started popping up everywhere! Soon to follow was Aqua Di Gio! Thank you for the trip down memory lane!

I still have and love Angel, and I received a bottle of the Bvlgari Tea Vert from my mom when she passed. ❤😢

Issey was my signature scent for years.

Jean patou is indeed defunct. Sublime is a love for me, I have many back ups. And Sira des Indes

That pic of Pasha was the parfum version 🤭 You're forgiven Tara. 💙 The original edt is actually rather basic but very well done for a barbershop. I slightly prefer Ralph Lauren's Safari which smells very similar, but to each their own! Heritage edt a brilliant scent for sure. But don't get your expectations up for that one either. 😄 The blending on the reformulated edt made it smoother, but also a bit more basic too. Incidentally, the reform of Loewe's 1974 Para Hombre called "Pour Homme" came out in '92 as well. Great citrus with a nice dirty edge in the base. And how can we forget the red capped D&G! Ps, "gio" pronounced closer to "joe" in Italian. Hence ADG becoming the average joe scent. ☺ Grrrrrazie bella!

This made me feel old, lol. Own a bunch of these! Absolutely adore Chloé Narcisse and wore it on special occasions when I was in high school. Still wear L'Eau d'Issey and probably will for life. Big love! Fun video, Tara :)

Interesting video..I love that you always mention the perfumers when talking about the fragrances. I only own one of these fragrances: Parfum d’Ete..and to be honest I still keep it only for reference, I don’t enjoy it anymore.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a better fragrance for men than Guerlain Heritage. It was perfect back then, and it still is. You can wear it any time of year, and it’s great for any occasion. The ultimate versatile fragrance, and it’s pure class. I love both the EdT and the EdP. A couple of others I enjoy from 1992 are Creed Erolfa and one of David Bowie’s reported favorites, Minotaure by Paloma Picasso. Lol….still a sexy fragrance and nothing else like it.

I discovered Jo Malone about 5 years ago. Funny to realize this brand was around 30 years ago. Interesting video, ty Tara.

Maybe it's my gutter mind but i think the first 2 perfumes you mentioned have a common theme apart from the same perfumer.😮😜

Still love the original issey

My mom still owns the Issey fragrance you had mentioned, but she is over the scent and struggling to finish her bottle 😆 I’ve considered getting the Lalique perfume, it’s very affordable.

Chloe Narcisse ....my favourite perfume of all time. I absolutely adore it . Does any one know where you can buy it , other than Amazon at $200 a bottle that I used to pay $29 for !! Or has anyone found one that is most similar to chloe narcisse. ?

Chloe Narcisse was my absolute favorite perfume of all time and I was heartbroken when it was discontinued (I didn’t know it had been until I went to order more 😢). Is there another perfume you would recommend that is similar to this one?
