I heard something that really describes my motto in life. "Aging is mandatory but growing up is optional." My husband and I could act the fool together and appreciate each other's quirky sense of humor. I also havea close friend like that and we're together we feed off each other and laugh until our stomachs ache. I can honestly see why this would be a highly attractive quality to males or females.

Both men and women SAY they want to do a lot of diverse activities, but when it comes down to doing it, they either avoid or refuse. I had a guy tell me how frustrated he was with his prior wife because she wouldn’t do anything he suggested. We’re out one day at an event I suggested, on the way back home, I said ‘I know of a good brewery here, wanna stop?’, he said No lol. I was quiet then gently called him out on it-RED flag right there. I let him think about what I said-he never improved after that. There was more than just this, 6 months and I was D-U-N. I see he FB profile and it lists all the things he likes to do lol. The last guy complained about his last GF of 4 years and lack of communication-he ghosted me lol. It’s never what people say, it’s what they DO that counts.

I so agree on that play factor. I see so many couples that can't unwind and have quality play time. Really sad. I went to the fair the other day, I had a great time. Was dancing by myself when three little boys (around three or so years old) doing the same thing, gravitated to me and started dancing circles around me. So adorable. The parents were right there. We had fun and it was adorable....spontaneous... little things like that make life so enjoyable. Later....a handsome fun loving man decided to dance with me and it was great. Being single right now has its ups and downs, but had I not went that day and stayed home moping around, I never would have met these wonderful people. 🤗

Hi Jonathan, I totally agree with you. I’ve been seeing my boyfriend for 11 months. We are both young looking for our age (57) and young at heart. We both enjoy having fun, he tickles me and play fight together! We both fancy each other socks off We talk about the future together, plan trips away. Just return from a break for a few days and we rode on his motor bike bike together for 3 hrs 20 mins journey there. A little uncomfortable at first but he was protective and thoughtful. Never thought I’d meet someone who enjoys fun as much as I do too. We are silly together, makes each other laugh, but serious when we need to be. I get excited when I travel 30 mins to see him; we get excited when we get together. He’s the same. He’s a alpha male which attracts me and he knows it. He straight to the point and a decent guy. We both feel we are Lucky to have met one other. That’s love ❤️ I fancy him even more and I think this occurs when you spend quality time with your partner and being spontaneous on occasions.

Speaking of play, I find it helpful to be playful in the first conversations. Start with a question that relates to their profile, but also is not about dating. So you start as friends, and not as dating partners - of course that’s why you are on a dating app - but I think in the beginning an exchange that isn’t specifically about dating can relax people.

Great advice! A sense of humor is the most attractive trait in a person. And you want to be able to laugh and have fun, along with all of the other great things, that go along with a good relationship. Hi Jonathon! Your videos are so informative and helpful. I wear my heart on my sleeve and fall so easy for a guy. However, my last relationship which isn't too long ago, turned out with extremely hurt feelings and resentments. My ex betrayed me early on in our relationship with his ex. I thought I was in love with him. Now I know , it wasn't him that I loved, it was my fantasy of how I wanted our relationship to be . We hopped into bed right after we met not getting to know each other first. If there is a next time, I will get to know him first. I know this is so important. Life is about lessons .

I allowed myself to fall into relationships I felt was going to be what I wanted. Only to discover down the track they haven't healed enough getting out of their past situation. A few have not been honest about their time apart and having codependency expecting me to fill their void. They came on strong, doing things for me and for me to give them value of themselves instead of them knowing what lessons they needed to learn from their past. Wanting me to let them be in control, having expectations of me to please them and me being this perfect partner to have all the answers when things got too hard for them. I was the one to take the steering wheel which in fact needed the both talk things through simply didn't happen. How is this ever going to have us both feel comfortable and letting life flow. Communication was lacking on their part trying to avoid reality. I'm in the time of my life where I'm saddened that many haven't developed the skills which are important to building a healthy foundation.... Too much emphasis on money and materialism isn't the be all, nor is one's self indulgence to gratification without the other person feel it's onsided. People can be complicated. Why are people too afraid to be frank enough is at times frustrating to deal with. I'm a learned individual that hopes to find that one thing to enrich my life. Someone that understands who I am and can have intimate conversations with and share beautiful memories through the good and challenging times. It’s difficult to grasp this concept- but it’s so very important. The concept goes like this: Never get attached to the outcome. Also Taylor Swift has a line in one of her songs that goes like this: You were never mine to lose. Sometimes we think we have a relationship with another person but with a lack of communication, it is merely assumptions. Talk about what the commitment is…..always. Don’t sleep with a guy until you’ve had this conversation. Never sleep with a guy unless he says he’s going to be exclusive with you. That takes several dates generally. Also- avoid all men who are recently out of marriages or long-term relationships. It’s literally my very first question. “When did your last long-term relationship end?” If it’s not more than a year…. red flag…. he’s gone. go get some experience and if I’m still on the market swing back this way and I’ll let you know if I’m interested.

It has taken me a long time to become 100% intentional. I almost gave up dating. Then I met a man who could be mature about his thoughts and feelings. I think, I was in shock after meeting so many men who were not emotionally available, etcetera. There is no comparison...after a couple of months..I just knew it was time to have a conversation about our intentions.

I so agree with all of this video. I was so fortunate in that the family I was born into was a very playful family, even though each individual was hard-working. We joked around, played jokes on each other, board games in the evenings, walks at weekends, were naturally cheerful, didn't take ourselves too seriously. But how disappointed I've been when expecting those same qualities in a relationship. Each man I've known has preferred the TV to board games; he's preferred his personal man's hobby to going for a walk with me; his ego has been too touchy for larking around. He's basically wanted me to be his servant in the background of his life while he continues doing his own thing. The gentleman making this video has exactly the right ideas, but what proportion of the male population share these ideas? Even when it comes to cooking for the men I've known, they hardly want more variety than pie and chips - no sense of exploring or adventure even regarding food. I have found that if I want a real life, of adventure and exploring in small ways on a daily basis, so that no two days are the same, then it's best I live alone.

I so understand what you are saying in regards to men just wanting to sit in front of the television or they want to do what they want to do when they want to do it their diets aren't as healthy as mine my last relationship he never wanted to even try something new he would just look at it turn his nose up at it. I would often suggest playing cards and board games he would say yeah okay after his show was over but then he was too tired and would have to go home. Is favorite things to do was eat and fall asleep. I finally dumped him.

Josh & I had this too. We laughed at everything. We'd go fishing together, I hooked my scrunchie the one day & I burst out into laughter. Then asked him for help to release the hook. Lol Those people on that lake had to think we were crazy. We laughed at everything, everytime we were there. Even when he did acrobatics on the boat & almost tipped us. I miss doing stuff with him. I showed him how to make sauerkraut, & we canned a lot of things together. Plus in turn, he showed me how to build. We made a deck/porch together, a BBQ pit, & redid the front of the house together. I almost became a "mix master" of sorts with the different types of mud he had me make.

Thank you for your videos, Jonathon! Science has proven that women get attached to a man via sex so if a woman wants to stop getting easily hurt by men she needs to STOP having sex with them so quickly. And I agree with you. Play is so important! People are just so busy these days, especially in the US. Most successful people are workaholics and their work trumps ALL RELATIONSHIPS, including the one with their significant other. It’s really sad.

@Liz Almeida. Guys like this are workaholics & you will never be a priority. There is no work/life balance. I married a wonderful guy right out of college/high school sweethearts. He chose a very demanding profession then decided to open his own business which made things worse. He literally was never home. I was always alone. Clients were always the priority & I was (in his mind) just be quiet, supportative, have dinner ready & then get angry if it wasn't ready because I was wasting his time. I wanted a partner in life. I didn't know when I got married that I was signing up for such an imbalanced relationship. Fast forward, I divorced him.....If your friend/bf doesn't have time for you now & he is opening other businesses, the situation is going to get worse & sadly, it appears you are just a side dish to him. If you don't feel like a priority, you aren't....Don't keep making some guy a priority if he isn't making you a priority just to have a guy in your life.

It’s an integral part of our self learning process which is covered up by societies teachings, which I find antiquated, disrespectful, and a complete lack of freedom to ourselves. Please keep sharing this information with everyone who will listen. It’s so very important to open up the mind. Einstein, Socrates, and all the great minds knew it, that is a definite sign that our society wanted the information banished from us. No matter what society tried, it can’t stay hidden forever. @@JonathonAslay I believe her because it happened to me too! I fell for a guy the first time we met in person. It was tough on me when 3 months later he decided that I wasn’t for him. I cried for days, was physically sick and looked like a damn raccoon with dark circles around my eyes. It's good to hear that man are open to my playful side, my little girl, bc i had thought if i bring that side of me out that it would ruin the sexual attraction piece bc any healthy guy wld want to be with a mature woman. But I guess you're saying go ahead and be that woman who can also be youthfully playful. I feel like I've done that by leaving a kiss mark on his head after we've had an intimate night together knowing he'll find it after I'm gone yet before he goes to work, or getting him a donut for his morning coffee that i already took a bite out of, asking him to shake his groove thing when trying on his new pants for me before I tell him they look great on him. Stuff like that. I'd be the one who wld find stuff to do like segwaying around a tourist area, or go to an immersive exhibit, or play tennis or go to a comedy club. He wld also choose things that cld enhance normal time together like go for a hike, get takeout but then eat it at a park, grocery shop together for the ingredients of a special meal he's going to make for my birthday. I think it's nice when we find that companion with whom we can do things with that we could have done alone, but are more fun when done together.

Hi Jonathon, what do you mean when you say that 20 percent of people have clinical issues? Do you mean things that can be worked on, by yourself or in therapy? Or do you mean that certain people are so messed up they are "incurable"? I myself have some psychological health challenges (and a diagnosis), and romantic relationships are certainly a struggle for me.

jonathon, can you speak about finances in relationships? i keep hearing let the man be a provider and be in your feminine. but in reality, guys i meet either are broke or don't want to provide. if i counted on them, i'd have nothing. so how do you handle finances? i even quit my job, thinking maybe it will make me more "feminine"...but i miss my financial freedom. i still have savings thank God and can return back to my career after a break

Jonathon, did you change your sound? The most recent couple of videos are SUPER quiet and it is difficult to hear you with the volume up all the way. Closed captions sometimes help but not always, depending on how fast they flash on the screen. If we put out the message both directly and with body language, intention, etc., that we want a relationship, then men who ONLY want sex will stop approaching and won't try to have (casual) sex with us! As for swiping past profiles, too many men don't know how to present themselves. Their cover photo is of them with sunglasses, a hat and a beard - can't see any of their face! Or they're holding a beer in their hand - red flag!
