I just found this video and I know my comments are late, but here I go. I am 66 years old, and started going through menopause at 50. Not ONE of my doctors spoke about this. So, I have been diagnosed as depressive, and an insomniac. I take a medication for depression, and one for ADHD. I also take THREE medications for insomnia. It’s too late for me to access these other options, but don’t be me. Do your own research, go well equipped with information when you see your doctor, DEMAND a conversation about this. Tell your friends, tell your daughters, it will make your life so much better.

It all actually makes me really upset this morning as I listen to Dominique Sachse’s podcast, because exactly like you said, I’m 60 almost 61 and now it’s too late and no one ever had this conversation with me and I thought I was doing phenomenally not needing hormone replacement therapy because I didn’t really have any symptoms, but what does that mean for me now and my overall health as I’m aging? So many questions and I’m so upset.

I feel it's ironic that as young woman we are told about our period and reproduction. It's even taught in school. However, when it comes to another stage of life, the menopausal stage, nothing. My mother never even mentioned it. You see your doctor and he or she tells you it's normal and it's just part of getting older as a woman and maybe offer hormone therapy or tough it out. If you wait too long your OBYGN (or mine) doesn't recommend hormone therapy. And to your point, no bone density until it may be too late. That's just nuts. Medicine is all about $$$$ not about us. You have to be proactive to the point of being a nuisance. I never knew the health benefits of estrogen. So informative. Thank you so much. I'm definitely going to be watching Dr. Barbie Taylor!

@@cminmd0041 I think health should be a required annual course from middle school thru high school, and span everything from reproduction, early childhood development, etc - all the way to senesence, end of life care, and death. I think if we give our kids more knowledge than we had, their lives will be so much better for it.

I pride myself on being a well educated, well informed woman but apparently I have a way to go. Ive just begun on HRT at 51 as I decided after a 5 minute consult with my GP to treat the cause and not the symptoms. I had absolutely no idea about the bone density, heart health, dementia tie ins. So glad I chose the HRT route but feel i need to learn so much more so I can make the right choices going forward from here. Im off to check out Menopause Taylor! Thanks Angie!

Yes!!! I wish I knew this at your age. I am 36 and I just found out I am menopausal. These past few years.. I thought I was going crazy and I was about to see a psychiatrist because of this and get on psychiatric meds because of the mood swings and brain fog which I thought were symptoms to severe depression or something else more serious. Really it was me going through premenopause. Had I known at your age to take a different angle maybe I would be doing so much better by now and could have done something about my fertility too.

This was my favorite video you have ever done, and I have watched every video you have done for years...probably since you first began here on you tube. I guess I am one of the lucky people because I went to work for a GYN when I was 22 years old and worked there for 18 years. He taught me so much and he was a huge advocate of HRT for many of the reasons that Dr Barbie talked about. So I knew the very minute I was experiencing menopause symptoms. I was 42 when my lab test proved it was time for HRT. I am 59 and I still take them. I went off for a year or so and just could not take all the symptoms I was going through. My GYN I go to is fine with me taking them and we did have a discussion on how long I could take them and I remember when she told me as long as I wanted to. But, there were several things talked about here I didn’t know, so I really enjoyed this topic and I am glad that I have been on HRT. Thanks so much for putting this out there because I think Dr Barbie will be getting a lot of new subscribers. Have a great week, xoxo

It's funny the difference between GYN and medical family doctors. My GYN is an absolute advocate of HRTs and then there's my family doctor that raises her eyebrows at me because I do hormones. She's like, are you telling your GYN that you have breast cancer in your family? Which I have, of course, but it's one person in my family and isn't a lineage of breast cancer. That's a risk for me and I am certainly aware of that. But I'm 60 and I have done bioidentical hormones for 8 years and my medical doctor can't dispute what I'm doing when blood work comes back with no problems with blood sugar, no problems with cholesterol, blood pressure fine. She tells me, whatever you're doing, keep it up.

I had a complete hysterectomy with my ovaries removed also at the age of 36, they didn't put me on HRT because my Mom had breast cancer. I've had issues after issue.Twenty years later my last surgery was from developing bone loss and have a spinal fusion as within the past 6 I could hardly move around, bent over. Now I have metal starting from the back of my neck down to my rear. Just writing to save even one person to not go through what I've gone through. My doc and I will be talking about putting me on HRT, even if it is the lowest dose. I wouldn't of known any of this if I hadn't watched this. Thanks Angie as always, life changing. xoxo

I started menopause at 48-49. At first I tried the estrogen patch & Progesterone pill, and it was okay. The best thing for me has been a compounded bioidentical cream with estrogen & testosterone. I have felt so much better on this combination cream. The added testosterone helps so much with energy & joint pain and it has made an incredible difference for me. I have the energy & motivation to exercise that I know I would not have without this treatment. I hope this helps many women. Thank you so much for this video.

Yes I never had children and mourned that way when I decided to have a hysterectomy for severe fibroids and endometriosis at age 45. It’s hard to completely close the door on the option of ever having a child and takes time to accept. At almost 50 now, I know a part of me will always mourn the child(ren) I never had but I’ve come to accept it. There is a bit of a stab in my heart when women talk about their children and or grandchildren but it’s just a part of my life and I’m ok.

Dr Taylor changed my life. I’m 47, and over the past few years I felt like I was going crazy. Heavy, painful periods, insomnia, horrible anxiety - problems that I never experienced in my 30s. I finally recently insisted to my family doctor that (after laying out the evidence) I was suffering from estrogen deficiency. He sent me to a specialist and now I am on the Mirena IUD to protect my uterus and a low dose of estrogen gel. I would have never known that my symptoms were because of perimenopause if it weren’t for Dr Taylor and I am beginning to feel much better - it was a miracle to fall asleep in 10 minutes and stay asleep all night.

When you don't have a lot of time to watch all the videos (and I will eventually) this videos wraps up a lot of questions as you have been told. The way things are today with going to the doctors is, if you can get in to see your doctor it is get in and get out. Only allowed two questions per visit. I get it but still very tough to swallow at times. People sharing their knowledge is usually only about asking for money and then I will give you the goods. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford to go to specialist and so nice that you both take the time out of your busy days to help women. I thought that being health conscious, working out, and eating healthy and clean was all I needed to do. This video opened my eyes to all the homework I should be doing. Thank you!

Thank you so much for having Dr Taylor on your channel. This was so incredibly informative, and I’m well past menopause age, but I still learned tons of stuff. I think this was absolutely great and I’m going to forward it to many women I know who can benefit from watching this video. 😍👏

Thank you for this! It's exactly the type of information I need at at exactly the right time. I'm 49 and I discovered you a few months ago because I was looking to get an under eye concealer for someone who has mature skin issues. Now after watching this video, I'll check out the good doctor and her menopause channel! I wholeheartedly agree that it's all about being FULLY INFORMED! 💜

Im 23, so menopause really isn't on my radar at the moment, but I find it pretty shocking how little we know and talk about it! Of course I cannot understand what it's like until I go through it, but at least all women (and ideally all men too) should at have a basic understanding. This shouldn't be such a taboo subject, and I thank you, Angie and Dr. Taylor, for educating me a bit!

Love love love Dr. Taylor and Hot & Flashy! What a combo. Thank you for helping those of us pre, during, and post menopause! This information is so crucial and how frustrating that no doctors in my life (gyn, family, etc) mentions ANYTHING about how important estrogen is. And my gyn is my age and a female. SO THANK YOU! I'm on this now and taking my own health in my own hands because (sadly) no dr will do it for me!

This was fantastic! I have her book and I am going through her videos. I know she wants you to watch them in order but I haven’t always done that. I have been very fortunate to have Dr’s who have listened and understood what was going on with my body. I have been on HRT since I was in my 50’s. One of my complaints was that it hurt when I walked and that problem was solved very quickly. I believe that Dr Taylor is doing such a great service to everyone who watches her videos with information that can be hard to find so thank you so much for having her on so she. Outdoor answer some questions. Thanks 🙏

Hi Angie - THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for having Dr. Taylor on - I LOVE HER!!! She is such an incredible resource for women and she is appreciated by SO many of us. I love how she provides the FACTS and straight information without any bias. As she says, she doesn't care how you manage your menopause, but she will assist you in managing it. I hope you will do follow-up videos with her as this is such a great service to women. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Menopause Taylor, she helped me make a decision on my path forward. My hot flashes and anxiety were making my life miserable but I was so afraid of taking hormones. She helped me work with my doctor to weigh out the benefits and risks and set up a plan to minimize the risks. THANKS Angie for this great video.

Thank you sooo much for bringing this topic to your channel! I'm 51 and had the worst perimenopause symptoms for 5 years. I looked everywhere for information and it was so few and far between. And I find that gals my age don't really want to talk about it. I think it's important for women to know that they are normal and there is help!

This video has changed my life, no exaggeration. I needed to know about this. Thank you two so much! I bought Dr. Taylor's book, watched videos, went in to talk with my gynecologist who is brilliant, and she was very happy to help. But like many other said, I had information she didn't thanks to Dr. Taylor. Thank you Angie!
