Taking pre reqs right now to then apply for a dental hygiene program near me next coming fall. Very helpful video. Im excited about it. Mentorship sounds like a great idea.
Thanks for all the information. I’m a student and English is my second language, Sometimes I feel like I can’t do it because of my English problem. And it makes me feel more difficult.
You will work you butt off like you have never done before in any dental hygiene program. There is absolutely no time to party, socialize, forget IG and rarely do you have any time off. Dentist here who started out in dental hygiene.
@@InnerRise there is definetly time to for yourself, althought its minimal, but there is freetime trust me. Some of my classmates are even working part time. So if u dont work like I dont, u can get some days to urself, but majority of ur time is running through assignments, studying, cases, etc.
@@afghanerwin5335 How much free time you have during a dental hygiene program depends on the program....... I got my DH degree in a 2 year community college right from high school and was done in 2 years- 4 semesters and one summer school between year 1 & 2...... I had 21, yes, 21 credits, the FIRST semester. I had no college credits entering the program. After I got in, I found out there were only 2 of us students accepted without any college credits..... Now, it appears requirements appear to want some basic courses out of the way like English 101, 102, psyc, sociology, etc. so that you have more time to focus on the dental aspect, which is a good idea but it takes longer to graduate and get a license...... I went to summer school and took 2 -3 credit classes that met every night for 4 hours and had assignments. I busted my butt, but thrilled I was one of the few who got the program done in 2 years & was working full time immediately upon getting my license. At 20 years old, I had my Associates Degree & was making good money.
@@RG-hf4et Interesting, how come they accepted you without any college credit? Usually, like for my program for example, you need to take pre reqs to even be considered
Almost every woman in my dental hygiene program was a mom. You can most certainly do it. I would love to help you get prepared for entering hygiene school and making sure you have that balance. Shoot me a message on IG. @justchrislove
Hey just got accepted for the fall what would you recommend to study before Staring school Also how is the board exam is it a fill in the blank or multiple choice
If you don’t know anything about the teeth I would start to study the anatomy of the teeth and learn teeth numbers. Yes the board is multiple choice but there are also case study questions.
@@Justchrislove how hard was school for you Where the class test long filled with things that teachers didn’t talk to much about Because that I how felt most of bio tests where like How where the class test Are they multiple choice or fill in the blank
First thing is they are having a Zoom meeting about the application and program this coming week the 27th at 5:00pm. That would be a great place to start gathering information and asking questions. Visit their website and get the link.
@@Justchrislove Signed up for it and excited to learn more about DH :) I heard you have to be a straight A student for the chemistry and science courses required to get in the program. Is this true?
