Most of the MD appts we try to schedule when we're back in our hometown. So sometimes it's a lot of running for us, but it makes us not have to come back home that often. We have never had any issues asking for time off. But we always negotiate all our time off before we sign our travel assignment contract. There's probably a reasonable limit that the facility is willing to accept and not move on to the next traveler applying for the job. We've taken up to a little over 1 week at Christmas and 2 weeks each for the birth of our daughters.
@@RyanMeganthank you! Last question. I know that most traveler companies do insurances during the duration of the travel assignment. That seems like it would make dr appt In between assignments difficult. Do you guys use an outside insurance company. Thank you!!
@@user-td5wy3jw2x that is true. Using the travel company insurance makes it difficult to have coverage in between contracts outside of using COBRA. We use a health share called Zion Health Share. We've loved it and are covered year round, all over the United States
