you look like the worst person to talk to about cars. all you know is mercedes mercedes!! yes they do good cars but audi does really good cars too. and don't say audi has reliability problems because i could talk about mercedes reliability between 2000 and 2007 were they were always at the garage. every cars have there faults, but it always depends on what you need.
On the perfect-bonkers scale, this finds itself stuck between the 911 on one side and the F-Type R on the other. One might see that a disadvantage (it's neither flawless nor ridiculous), but that makes it the one to buy. The 911 is better for a track day, but will someday bore you, causing you to regret your purchase. The F-Type is great fun for a day, but it's terrible for everyday driving. The AMG GT S falls right into the sweet spot of being usable but never boring. That's why it's so good.

Grant Rodgers As the company halo car, they all link back to the original 300SL. This includes the SLR, SLS and the current GT. All of which have had different door configurations.
This V8 is probably best sounding modern turbocharged engine, but its nowhere close to 6.2 V8 from last generation. The same goes for Audi, the same goes for BMW. I have weird feeling when i hear these cars, they just doesnt sound natural, they sound electronic, vague, like its missing something.

I get a little feeling of it being a "Benzed" out version of a Chrysler Crossfire. Maybe because I worked with a guy who had one and I saw it everyday. But the engine is what makes this car. 503 hp in something that small must feel awesome.

The SLS was better. Had more character and was indeed more special. Im assuming tho this GT S is cheaper considering it doesn't have gullwing doors, less power etc.
Nicolas Cage is God from logic, and from knowing ricers... just look at the design! you're in a tight parking space? well, you can't get out. you're in a parking garage with a low ceiling? well, you're gonna smash the door against it. the lambo doors at least only partially have the first problem, the sls doors need like a meter on each side to open! it looks cool without a doubt, but it's a totally flawed concept.
+givemeajackson Actually gullwing doors require less room than a conventional door because they open from the middle. Since most cars that have gullwing door are very low having to worry about hitting the ceiling is unlikely.

Friend of mine bought a AMG GT 50year edition. He drove all the way from Germany to France. After that he said he didn't want the GT anymore. So I don't know about the comfort part.
Am i the only one who thinks the SLS looked better? i mean, if they launched the SLS now and said it was a new version of this car i wouldn't find it hard to believe at all. Great review though.
I agree, of all the mercedes models, this one looks the best imo. I finally saw one on the road a few weeks ago, man was it good looking! Great video XCAR.
you know what? i wasn't a big fan of this before it got released,but i have to say that it has certainly grown on me tremendously especially after seeing how good it looks in person and its awesome performance.the acceleration on this car is an absolute madness.you would have to see it in person to truly understand

Xavier Jones yes but then they should've added it to the range rather than replace the SLS with it because imagine you buy one of these then encounter someone driving a SLS. There is NO way that you're not going to feel inferior even though the SLS was not produced at the time you bought this car and you might have had enough money to buy one. And that's just not fine in my books.
pathe02 they didn't "replace" the sls with it.... they put out a final edition and then pressed pause on making an sls tier model for business reasons only a few hundred of the final edition were even made

AMG and Mercedes as a whole just have a way with paint and body work that Audi and BMW just can't match. Even their entry cars (CLA) look fantastic with all the swooping lines
