@@poppachoppa8956 The title of the video said that there would be a crash. As far as I can tell, the car just lost control. There was no crash. If my comment really makes you so bitter, just ignore it. Unbelievable.
Dude, the video doesn’t really start until 0:41. Then on top of that, as soon as the car crashes, the camera pans away in panic. ಠ_ಠ What a waste of time.
@@imaginova88 You've trippled your waste responding to a person that has wasted 40 seconds of their life, and I've fwippled my waste responding to a comment that has responded on this video.
This happened because he turned off his "Stability Control" I wouldn't recommend it. If you wanna do a power slide, Traction Control "OFF" will do but if your car has a Tiptronic transmission so your car doesn't switch gears during a slide.
@ZxSkyLineKisxZ Nice someone that gets it! Pre nanny days (where off meant off!) I wrote off an S4 doing this (HOLD TCS off button for three seconds rather than press it once) and stupidly launch controlled a start at a junction where I intended to turn right. Even with AWD the thing bit me in the ass, under steered like crazy into a wall. Lesson learnt, pride hurt. As an older gentleman, whilst still a boy racer at heart I’m not too arrogant to utilize the systems designed by the car manufacturers to assist in this sort of shit from not happening - whilst still having fun.
This why I drive a stick and I drive with dynamic traction control on switching off my automatic stabilizer. 80% of the time my car is in track mode, I believe doing this on a daily basis should be in every driver’s repertoire. It teaches you how to control your vehicle in any condition, at least IMO/experience.
clearly neither of you two have ever driven one before i got to drive one once and even though my favorite cars are ones with giant v8s under the hood the s2000 is insane and id say is absolutely worth the money
@@jonhicks2539 the jdm car market from the 90s is so exorbitantly priced now adays people who enjoy cars cant afford the cars they want and the people who can drive these prices up im frustrated at the market not the cars themselves
@@huyra8019 I understand where your coming from you can find older s2ks that have higher mileage for decent prices but if you want a really good condition one i do agree its pretty ridiculous
This brings me back, I owned an 04 sl55 amg 5ish years ago until my insurance company owned it. I thought it would be a good idea to take off driving assists and it resulted in a very similar situation. Only difference is I spun a complete 180 and didn't hop the curb
Racing games teach the basics of car handling. Lift off over steer, under steer etc. Obviously, being on the track in your own car will enhance that experience further.
This is a case of poor driver. Car features are not there to mask out bad drivers. What happened here is tires were cold and he went too heavy on the gas pedal. Sure, traction control could have saved the day, but so could knowing how to drive and some basic understanding of how a vehicle reacts to certain situations.
@@dcappucino9513 Nah s2000s are sick And s2000s are actually really good starter cars for the track. Plus it can rev up to 9000rpms. Which was a world record for highest specific output for a naturally aspirated engine. It held the record for 10 YEARS, until the Ferrari 458 Pista broke it.
@@paulus4443 “Car people” end up doing what the guy with this GTS did. Try to seem cool and act like real “car people”. Real car people know there’s a time and a place. Don’t be a hero.
It’s because they aren’t rich. They financed these cars to impress others. Wealthy people tend to be more subdued as they have no need to attract that type of attention. At least in my experience
@@jaquevius You have no experience if that’s the case. Some are that way, but most wealthy people have no problem showing you how wealthy they are. By the way, even rich people finance their exotics. You don’t make it to that level by not understanding how money works.
@@lilmidgey6927 I think it’s even about experience , u can’t just get ur license and get the first car a super sport expensive car and think u can do such , take it by a normal car then go to practice . Takes a lot of patience and time to do so .
tried to slide with ESC on I guess? He was turning left and gave it some gas and the rear of the car kicks out to the right for a second before its corrected by the computer than ultimately overcorrected by the driver the rear kicks out to the left and he hits the curb
I don´t think esc would have allowed the rear to even step out like that. My theory is the car snapped back and the driver was still turning the wheel to the right countering the initial drift. Then he steered left but it was too late.
The driver thought he was about to have a nice drifting and started counter steering strong and flooring but the ESC stopped the power slide and there he goes. Super GTs are so sneaky, you have to completely know what you do.
Nope, looks to me just like with every mustang vid. He got on the power so it started to slide and he lifted quickly and the car snapped back the other way as the weight transfered forwards and the fronts hooked up and the rear got thrown the other way because of the countersteer.
Esc doesn't just cut power, that's traction control. Esc uses the abs to brake the inside wheels of the slide to pull the car out of it. He did not have Esc on, and probably had traction control either off or in a sporty setting so it allowed enough slip for him to get sideways.
this is why you accelerate OUT of the turn, not INTO the turn. You can still do a neat slide but you gotta make sure your nose is where it needs to be first, oversteer is a lot easier to correct than understeer.
@auto blipper You really should learn to talk with respect and take this opportunity to educate yourself on vehicle dynamics. Please go read a book and get to understand how a car behaves because "I saw it on youtube" isn't by any means a valid reference. Unless you want just to keep behaving like an internet troll, but I sincerely hope you choose against it.
I think he had ESC or traction on somehow even if he hit the button to turn it off. He was turning left and gave it some gas and the rear of the car kicks out to the right for a second before its corrected by the computer than ultimately overcorrected by the driver the rear kicks out to the left and he hits the curb
@Username What you’re saying is true, but at the same time the guy could have had a little sanity and floored it after he had his wheels straight.. i mean it’s a wide straight road, he doesn’t need to floor it while turning
@@lurk7967 So if he would've just trusted the ESC to correct itself, he would've been fine? I recently saw a video of I think Clarkson saying just that when he test drove a lamborghini with and without ESC. I assume you need some practice first tho.
RU-vid your algorithm is taking a L on this one. First of all, this video should only be 10 seconds long. Second of all, we waited all that time for THAT filming at the end. Damn this shit is trash
