I'm 100% a pre-facelift guy. The facelift upset the well-balanced design with a heavy nose and overall bulky front (due to ironing out the beautiful front fender flares). Same thing in the rear with the tailight-reverse light separation. The bootlid looks messy and busy on the facelifted versions. The only thing done better (design-wise) is the non-AMG diffuser - much better looking than on pre-facelifts. Also, the steering wheel on the newer cars was a smooth evolution of the pre-facelift item.
Complete opposite for me. I think the facelift looks way better. The more angular front end looks more interesting than the pre-facelift version, which in my opinion is too soft.
I’m a pre facelift lover as mine is an 09 550 model but I do like the newer fog lamps on facelift:). and the non AMG models did have full leather steering wheels but for some reason AMG always got plastic even though 65 costed so much more.. Lol.
MGuy were the seats changed at all? Thinking of swapping my SL55 for a car I will use as a daily. Like the SL55 grey interior cars are cheaper in the UK. But I can buy a set of seats and doorcards from a 600, so Designo pretty cheap. But no point putting older seats in they were upgraded on the facelift.
Also cruise control in the facelift completely stops the car, and then accelerates in traffic. Also uses traffic sign recognition and navigation data. Emergency braking also will use 100% of brakes, before it only a bit slowed you down. It recognizes cross traffic too, didn’t before, will stop for that, same with stuff happening behind the car. Worst thing about the facelift is the new navigation system. No official updates after 2015, older one has official 2020 maps.
Hi sir, what is the option include split view monitor ,head phone, remoter? Also ABC function, is a rear wheel drive amg configuration I think. Isn’t Your 2011 version a 4Matic? I am really confused.
Headphone/remote and split view are part of the "Front Seat Entertainment Package". In Australia the configuration is rear-wheel drive only with ABC, rather than 4Matic. Cheers.
