Whatever the budget, a new car would be the right choice. I would go for E-Class if I have the budget for a new one. However, with INR 45 lacs, a new Camry is the right choice or some other Mercedes model within that budget if someone is stuck with that brand.

That depends on your preference. Camry has everything better than the C-Class except for driving pleasure and snob value. And it's cheaper too. if your are okay with the toyota badge, Camry is the one to go for.

If you want a very comfortable and reliable car to drive your family around then get a Camry. If you need a car that may not be reliable but can give you a high status symbol then get a second-hand Mercedes. Some jobs like Insurance and property agent rely alot on the customer’s first impression, in that case you’ll be better off driving a Mercedes. Majority of consumers will trust an Insurance agent who drives a Mercedes than one who drives a Camry. This is just the truth of the world. In that case it’s better to invest in a good luxury car even if it isn’t reliable.

Carmaster, you have done a right job by recommending for your friend to go for the Camry instead of the Mercedes-Benz E class. If the Lexus ES was there instead of the E class then it would have been a good buy but a used German luxury car that too for a first time buyer who has done MBA recently is a BIG NO. Those German luxury cars are just too complex and Audi, MERCEDES-BENZ and BMW don't have good reliability record at all though Merc is more reliable than Audi and BMW. Those Germans like Audi, BMW and Merc are deadly expensive to maintain yet they are quite unreliable. For first time buyers it's better to buy a Camry or a used Lexus if he wants luxury. Also those who want to buy a used luxury car, they should rather buy a Porsche or a Lexus or any petrol Volvo anyday. Even though Porsches are complex they are at least as reliable as a Toyota as Porsche has hired Toyota employees and is using Toyota's engineering and production system. This is why Porsche had got good reliability record. Carmaster, your friend's money is definitely well spent in the right direction. Also the fun fact is that there is no need to buy the E class even in New one as the Camry is as comfy as the E class Long wheelbase and has far more features and has similar acceleration compared with the E class. It's absolutely waste to go for the E class over the Camry only for badge value. I am surprised to see that you are a teambhpian and you were the one who made a thread containing used E class vs a new Toyota Camry.

Tried to find a used Lexus ES. But it's far too difficult to find. Found one online but in Mumbai. About 1500km away 😅

@@CarMasteronly Carmaster, are newer BMWs cars really as unreliable as a JLR? You keep saying that they are unreliable because of plastics in their mechanical components. But teambhp says that BMW is reliable. Please tell me. I am confused.

Engine wise BMW's are mostly solid. But its the electrics and other stuff that fails regularly. Teambhp reviews are usually after 50k-60k km of usage. Thats not a mileage I'd ever consider for reliability. It's got be atleast 1.5 lakh km.

I own 3 Mercs. Just test drove a HEV Camry today and now thinking about replacing 1 Merc with it. I have no hate for the Merc I'll be selling. I just have more love for the Camry I drove today. You calling this vid "pure BS" ironically points you out as the "hater" here. Lol.
