Thanks for this, used your video as a guide to replace the filters on a 2019 GLC43. It was LHD so the cabin pre-filter was on the right side, but same thing just reversed, Bought the Mahle brand filters from Rockauto and saved quite a bit of money as well.👍🏻
Thank you!! Mine is LHD and I'm about to replace both on my 2018 GLC300, looks like a real pain in the _ss. Of course it is, I expected no less.. ;-) At least now I know where they are... Thanks again.
After doing this for the first time I now wish the German engineers responsible for the cabin air filter suffer greatly for their crimes against humanity
The filter that AutoMotiv8ed purchased, there is no other way he could get it in. The fact that the ribs are horizontal in the new one and they were verticle in the old, that I am not sure has a bearing and it appears to be the manufacturer's production structuring. Bottom line: I have watched other videos and irrespective of whether LHD or RHD vehicles, I have seen the original filter having verticle ribs when being pulled out. The most important fact imo is to ensure that the direction of the air-flow is correct when installing as there are after-market-products and the rib structure direction (vertical vs horizontal when installing) can vary.
And oh btw, in mercedes benz service shops these filters for 2020 year GLC 300 are not called "both the Cabin A/C filters" as the title of this video indicates. The one inside the engine compartment is called "engine air filter" or the "dust filter" AND the one inside the glove compartment (always on passenger side, nevermind if it's LHD or RHD) is actually called "cabin air filter" (also sometimes called "activated filter")
I’ve taken mine out and they don’t have all fluff etc in them and seem clean but we’re having issues with the windows steaming up. Will this help with that if I change them. No obvious blockages and no wet anywhere
@@BCV_71 it was installed right. the picture in your PDF file is of a LHD car. His is RHD car. if you follow the design of the filter box, it is installed correctly, he installed it the same way it was taken out.
This was designed by an undergrad just out of school working at Valeo as his first job. He thought it works on the computer screen therefore it must be good. This guy must hate mechanics, I don't have another explanation. What a crap solution.
Incorrectly installed the cabin carbon filter. The filter elements must be positioned vertically. You set it horizontally. The old filter was installed correctly.
