The double sided clips you show towards the end of the video are different in my US w163 ml430. There is only a one sided clip and I could not get it out.you could feel that the whole unit slightly releases when you push the front end of the clip but the rear end of the clip does not exist in my 2001 vehicle. Was never able to get the unit out.it was clear that there is another clip or screw or some this to slide to get to the trip computer. Just a little heads up to other owners!
Hey love the video I'm about to replace mine in my 99 ML430. What size are those screws if I may ask? A few of mine were missing when I bought the truck used.
Paul, you can replace just an electrical part. Sometimes it is cheaper to just to swap the whole thing. Link to eBay: www.ebay.com/itm/98-99-00-01-MERCEDES-ML320-OVERHEAD-CONSOLE-DOME-LIGHT-ASSEMBLY-GRAY-OEM/153021280208?fits=Model%3AML320&hash=item23a0c76fd0:g:vJsAAOSwzWla0TKL
Yes, you need to replace it or just reaching up and turning off the trip computer prior to exiting the vehicle and then use the remote to set the alarm and all's well. The trip computer and/or software is obviously involved somehow.
so i click off and exit the car and lock it with with remote, but after then lets say someone wants to steal the car the alarm wont go off anymore? also second question replacing the trip computer is easy right i just have to do whatever you did in this video and unplug it and plug the new one?.
