Congrats on your exhaust system completion! I know the headaches you went through in re-configuring your exhaust routes. I personally reconfigured my own Black ‘91 500SL / AMG’s exhaust system (muffler delete) with a cross-over exhaust piece (to the passenger side) in the rear to have ‘twin duals’ exiting below the rear bumper (each side). Turned out badass and the exhaust note/sound is at the perfect pitch for normal driving but when I step into it the roar of exhaust note lets those around me know that this is no basic R129 model. Because it has twin duals exiting the rear - I get a lot of intense looks from other Mercedes owners on the road who don’t expect such an exhaust design coming out the backside on a R129 - some with thumbs up motions. But I like your setup too - very clean - as you can’t go wrong with AMG. I wish you well & blessings to you on your journey with your R129.

Looks much better, still a bit loud for me, but I'm old - and it's your car, not mine! I have the resonator and then straight pipe, sounds deep but not loud.
Prefer the AMG sound and please let me know where you got that AMG muffler. Is it OEM or from an other supplier? Just going after an SL 500 these days but standard sound boring.
Clean ride definitely tones down the rasp...I have dual X-pipe done to mine we just moved the fuel filter and pump over some and added a extra pipe..when I put my cats back on it I think Ill follow your route with a muffler

After all that what you end up with is a noisy car - very tiring after a few miles never mind a long journey! Turns a pleasant sporting cruiser into an annoying buzz box - how peculiar. Shame because it started out as a nice car. Pointless or maybe you just want people to look at you. They will but what do you suppose they will think?
Oh and just so that you don’t think I am as invested in this as it may seem by my comments. The ONLY reason I took the time to do this is because your sheer audacity to make a comment like that pissed me off especially since you could’ve just been nice, but instead CHOSE to be an asshole.
