Hi Victor, my volume on the radio doesnt work anymore it stays on low volume, and goes down to silents but not up, but it still works with the tape and cd. Isnt that strange? andy ideas?
You should have just re-flowed it with flux + heatgun set to 800. You have to do it carefully though. I fixed mine just yesterday with this method. I had no red fiber optic lights inside the stereo. Re-flowed it and now it's back. We'll see how long it lasts tho. The fix is similar to the old PS3 ylod fix.
Ive done my old PS3 reflowed like 3 times. Each time it lasted shorter and shorter. I dont usually repair those radios but in that case I wanted to show customer what I was doing.
Gotcha. Yeah turns out mine only lasted 2 days, it's dead again :( Just going to upgrade the whole system with aftermarket, but keep the Bose speakers in. Either way great video, I subscribed :)
Heloo i have a ml 320 with bose stereo sound sistem on th cd box optic cable is working od.the radio and the sos under the pasenger seat is not working also and when i turn on radio i hear clicking on the dash how can i repair it!! please help any one who knows?
I have an issue. Only the radio fm am can not be heard. If I put it on fm and turn the volume all the way up it is very faint. Everything else works fine, cd, changer, tape. Sometimes when car is off and key is in accessory position there is sound. Any ideas?
hey man its Jordan from Canada,( You fix the wire harness and body throttle on E420 ) my dads ml same as yours has a problem with the radio, the fm radio volume is very low and can barely hear it, but its not increasing volume as I turn it. But when im listening to AM, TAPE, and CD, it works fine and im able to change volume, but if I go to high it starts to make a very loud rumbling noise, as I turn it down a bit it stops making that loud noise. Im wondering if I have soder anything inside. but im having trouble taking it out and removing the wood panels to reach in and take it out like this video. W124 was a lot simple than this ML320..
JWINTSS Hey Jordan I have the exact same problem with mine...but instead of fixing it, i'm upgrading to another DIN with garmin nav....didnt like the gps on the factory one much.....question? when you say removing wood panels..do you mean removing the unit itself out of the dash? because if thats the case, the unit slides into a metal locking sleeve. You need MB keys to slide in each side to unlock, it then slides right out..you can either buy the keys, or what i did is run to my only mechanic I use and he released it with his keys for me.. other than that good luck, anybody in posts above that thinks the chip their looking for would still be good on my unit, give me a shout, i may be able to part with it..
I c , idk I was just thinking getting a after marker dash worth like 400$, but at the saem time I thought I cud save some money by fixing this?? I don't know what would be better and easier and cheaper./ also cant forget I also have to rewire the dash into new aftermarket , not an expert on it. I did it myself before but I don't think I did a very good job .
I honestly don't know why its did this . its 400km ml but the radio wasn't handled or treated badly to act up like this. I feel maye its a small chip or fuze inside idk ?
I now have my new kenwood $700 installed and i am so happy i did! I was the same about installing it myself...but youtube is awesome for diy projects... You can buy and after market wiring harness cheap from best buy.for.$20. I installed the new system with Sirius, backup video, parking break bypass, 4 alpine speakers in doors, double 12" subs in enclosure, 1- 2600 w amp for subs -.2 channel, 1-1600w amp for speakers, distribution block, and digital capacitor... Took me 2 days to install taking my time. It was so worth it! It kicks!!!! Good luck with yours Jordan... If you decide to install aftermarket unit and have questions i might be able to help. I'll get a notification if you reply...
I thing the duble lear board makes bed conection with the hools and you heat it up and its starts worcking it is not the chip. New radio whit duble lear hawe simular problems

Hi Victor, I am from Aruba, I have a mercedes ML350/2003; there is a problem with the radio, namely, the radio turns on but there is no sound, in the beginning of the problem you could hear the sound for part of a second, than no more sound, hope to see any email from you, it is a radio /cd combination and also sonnection for cellphone on the side, it is european mercedes
Hi, I do not work on many of these radios. I repaired this radio fiber loop almost 5 years ago. Customer brought the car in my shop for repairs and radio was one of problems to repair. Unfortunately, I do not have much free time to spend on these radios, have lots of other more expensive projects to take care of. Maybe in the future I will make a bench test stand for them and will offer repair services.
