Even worse you find out they are killing 4.0l V8 engines in both C and E classes (to be replaced with 2.0l i4 with some electric motor apparently). All to please eco-twats.
@@grzegorzbrzeczyszczykiewic5895 Just the C-Class, the E-Class is still gonna have the V8. The V12 will also still be available for the Maybach S-Class W223
The design of this generation is best for me. It’s just my personal opinion but the Interior and exterior of this is amazing! The newer one looks very much futuristic which is good for company but personally Many of the people would prefer this one.
@@MDavidG1 don’t try and for one second sit there and even think you can compare the luxuries of a maybach to that of even a fully specced s550. The rolls obviously has the same if not better than the maybach but I’m telling you the road presence on an S680 is just as noticeable as a phantom or wraith
I daily drive a W220 S65 for two years now with 50K mileage to date and although driving me crazy on maintenance from ABC pump failing to Coil-packs I'm so reluctant to let go although MSRP close to $80K in this part of the world! Cannot wait for the final edition one day!
Ugh...so Gorgeous!! v12 sounds sooo good too! I remember when my boss (general manager at Toyota dealership) took me to a night club in DC in one of the older V12's...I fell in LOVE! 😍
That 6.0L V12 looks nuts. I mean AMG was already insane enough with their 4.0L V8, but I never knew about this V12. And I also never knew about the S65 until just recently. Just listening to the engine at 2:42 is enough for me to be in love with this car, and I already love this generation of the S-class, even without the AMG performance upgrades. This is a very special AMG car, and it's sad that AMG doesn't make these insane V12s anymore. But this S65 shows what AMG is capable of, and it paid off.
Correction: the S63 was awd everywhere except the UK. Otherwise great video. I like how you made it seem like you're writing a love letter to an engine. Cheers.
We have an X222 (RWD) with all bells and whistles. I Rented a W222 4 Matic for a winter trip few weeks ago, but all passengers complained the difference between an entry model W222 and the X222.
I like W140 and W221 exteriors because both have sharper shapes while I'd skip 220 and W222 is curvier everywhere. W223 has ugly tail lights which is clearly seen at 8:09 in your video. Also V12 biturbo engines still live in Maybach cars... And YES, all these 222 and 223 cars in 10 years from now when they are out of warranty will be vacuuming wallets of its fourth or fifth owners who will be flipping em like crazy! :D
Fun Fact: it’s not an end of an era, the w223 model does actually have a v12 version however it’s only available as a maybach. Type in you tube w223 v12 you will see it
One question: Why AMG didn't upgrade the engine up to 680-720ish hp in the W222/R231 65s? I remember when the 2005 S65/SL65 AMG were more powerful than a Murciélago (612 vs 580 hp), but in 2018 an Aventador S was 110 hp more powerful than a S65/S65 AMG
They were barely able to cool the engine as it was. In fact they were really struggling. If you leave one of these in traffic for too long it will overheat and get in trouble because of thinning the oil. At more power, which would have meant more rpm, it would probably catch fire straight away :p
I love this channel. My last car was a w204 C63 with P31 pack. I had it stage 2 with iPE headers and a tune running 550bhp. My next car I am still pondering. I still want something exciting. I’m thinking about a cls63 or maybe the w205 c63. Any thoughts?
The truth is , the new electric S Class is nowhere near as luxurious as these S Class models. Its cheaply made, has tons of crappy interior parts, the ride quality isn't up to par etc. These S Class models here are going to be the last of the great Mercedes luxury cars. People will drive the value of these through the roof. I own an '08 S 550. I wouldn't get rid of it for anything electric.
Definitely peak S-Class. People would like to believe electrification will match this V12's dominance at speed but it's hopeless for them. An S65 will cruise for hours at a Model S's top speed.
@@bernardwarr4187 S65 is a heavy car, you ever see how the rotors look after a few thousand miles of driving it hard? They get grooves and warp from the heat, plus the carbon ceramic brakes are a lot less unsprung weight
I also prefer the w221. Theres just too much going on inside the new models. I like the simplicity of the w221. I also like to ride in darkness and all these bright ass displays that you cant turn off or dim way down in these new cars are just too much for me.
Did the Maybach S650 with the W222 facelift have the same engine as the S65? I know the pre-facelift W222 Maybach S600 had a different engine but I think with the facelift the S650 got to receive the same engine as the S65.
Still not buying electric coffin boxes. Yeah fanbois I know your battery on 4wheels can smoke everything, so could a train. It still ain't a car, sadly
Greetings, we are from Bilibili Comics. Your works are interesting to us. Any thoughts about RU-vid's collaboration? There's contact on my header or about section if there's anything on your mind. Have a good day.
