Short Video on the Battery Location in a 2007 - 2018 Mercedes Sprinter. Also How to Jump Start in an Emergency Situation which as stated should only be done in an Emergency otherwise follow the video and charge the flat battery.
Thank you! Informative, well done and enough minute detail for us “non mechanics” in other words we that have no clue…. Love your video, I’m going out to look my sprinter over so I’ll remember this in emergency
Thanks for this - much better to have my battery run down at home and learn how to do this than being stuck abroad somewhere in my converted campervan! THANKS AGAIN
Thanks buddy. After 10 mins reading the (damn) operating manual, which was completely confusing, I was about to open up the floor board to locate and charge my battery. Something tells me a video like yours was available on YT. And good thing I looked! I put your tips to use right away and saved me tons of time. Thank you again.
The owners manual makes no sense and no reference to this single most important bit of information that every owner will need when in a bad situation. I love my Sprinter and MB but this is bad oversight in my 2016 Sprinter owners manual.
Slightly off subject, I have a 2007 Sprinter, my central locking doesn't work on the drivers side I have to physically push it up or press it down to lock it. I've been told it could be the actuator, ( it was working off the remote fob but then it would work intermittently ) Have you encountered this problem before Buddy ? Thanks for your time. Gary. UK
@@garyhorne2972 It could be the actuator but it could also be a wiring issue to either the central lock control module or more likely the actuator in the door. However the easiest step forward would be to remove the door actuator and bench test it, they are a common stocked item so wouldn't surprise me if it was faulty.
Yes you can easily recharge the battery from the jump points shown. Thought this was mentioned in the video. The reason you would charge it from the cabin is when your hibernating the vehicle and have to lock everything.
i am locked out of my 2016 sprinter due to dead battery. is there a positive connection underneath the car where i can connect the charger? i do not have access to cockpit to unlock the hood. manually opening the door lock on driver and tailgate doors doesn't work :(
Hi, the main connection is located under the hood, as seen in the video. It is possible to access this connector from underneath the vehicle even if the hood is still closed.
Strange that you cannot use the emergency key to open the driver's door, but anyway follow my comment below. Or if you are really stuck there is a positive feed which you can access of the rear on the starter motor.
@@maratik999 If you are looking at the engine standing in front of the vehicle its on the right hand side if you are facing the engine under the intake manifold towards the rear near the transmission.
@@AutoBuddynz For some reason, presumably because the battery is flat, the passenger door won't open. Which obstructs the handle to pop the hood/bonnet. I can get in the vehicle, but no further.
