As someone who’s owned both brands. I’d take the Mercedes over BMW(owned an M3 & currently have C63 AMG). To each their own though. All personal preferences.

I also think engineering a car to be fast is easier than building a car that is fun since being fun isn’t measurable

It's much easier to drive BMW compared to Mercedes. So.... in other words, if you wanna to show up, but you don't have enough driving skills just take the BMW. But, if you wanna have a real driving experience and skills, just take the Mercedes.

In my opinion true bmw cars are the hardest cars. Most say its porsche and i agree they are incredibly hard but the point is bmw models are only built for joy and they give you that and they are still so comfortable. But the porsche 911 gt models which are incredible round a track arent gokd for daily use and i think they just don’t offer as mich feeling as bmw does even round a track. They are faster but come on they are faster than lamborghini and ferrari cars round a track not more exciting
