Hi Victor, I have w140 300SE first generation full Equipped, the problem I have sls suspension missing in the rear (replaced by shock absorber), I want install the original struts, I found two struts in good condition, When I look in engine compartiment I found reservoir fluid of sls system which connected to power sterring pump, and I look in the bottom of the car I found leveling system and old accumulators in their original place my question if I want install struts : 1.Install struts 2.install new accumulators 3.fill reservoir with sls fluid It will be OK the sls system can work fine? Or there is others suggestions Many thnks
Hi, To be honest I would not convert it back to SLS suspension. Especially if your car has ADS system. In many cases shops just remove struts and install shocks and rear end sits too low. So you replace springs with non sls springs to bring rear suspension to proper level. I just converted 600SEL from sls and ads to regular springs and shocks. No more headaches with these systems anymore. But some other cars I keep sls and ads if repair is not too expensive.

@@drissios like viktor says you must use the correct springs if you had sls installed with normal springs it would not be right you would have 2 spring rates on each wheel as the accumulator gives spring action
Hi Victor I found rear struts in not bad condition, the springs not yet can I cut/modify normal springs to use it in sls suspension? If it possible can you help me
great video viktor,, one thing that confuses me the non hydraulic shocks do not have the top mount, so if i was deleting my sls would i use the top mount with normal shock or not use the top mount??? this has been on my mind for a while
I had some bushing laying around. But it did not fit so I had to grind it down to fit into strut opening. I never saw or heard for any replacement bushing for these struts.
